I am a huge fan of the Mychelle brand but I struggled with their apple brightening line. Like the serum, this cleanser had a strange texture making application very unpleasant. I will not repurchase.

This is not my favorite cleanser by MyChelle. The texture of this reminds me of jelly and the product is very gelatinous even when used in conjunction with water. The smell is not pleasant, at least for me, as it reminds me of something fermenting or something alcoholic. This does a good job of cleansing my face, but I do not use this product regularly because I do not feel enticed to use it. This is also quite expensive for a cleanser, costing more than $5 per ounce, a price I feel is unwarranted. I think I am just going to use up the product and not repurchase.

EDIT: – I figured out a way to use this cleanser, so am upping my revie wto 5 stars. When I am wearing a lot of makeup, or on really hot and humid summer days where I am just dirty gross, the pumpkin cleanser or the pure harmony cleanser just can’t cut through the oil, dirt and makeup on my face fully. So what I do is I mix just a tad bit of the Apple Brighening Cleanser in with one of the more gentle cleansers (Pumpkin or Pure Harmony), and my face gets really clean, but yet still very soft and no tightness or dryness. I literally just mix in a drop or two (teensy tiny amount) of the Apple cleanser into one of the cream cleansers, and it manages to cut through grime. If i use too much, my face feels tight and dry, but somehow by using just a tad bit mixed in with a creamy cleanser by Mychelle, the mixture is balanced on my skin, and thus does not dry it out. I love Mychelle products and am thankful that I found a way to make this product work for me. I am so glad to be done with chemical laden cleansers in the drugstores.
Old Review: I could see this working for oilier skin gals, but this apple cleanser is just too drying for me. I just used it for the first time, and I can feel my face tightening up more and more as I type t his review. I’ve used more drying cleansers before, so this apple one is not super, super drying, and it did not sting my skin when I used it, which is definitely a plus. But unfortunately, if I were to use this every day, I could see my rosacea flaring up, as I have very sensitive skin that is prone to redness and flushing when I am using the wrong products. For the positives, skin feels very clean and this does not feel like it would cause acne, as it washed away clean. If I wanted a deep cleanser, I might use this on occassion, but not every day as it would be much, much too drying over time. I love many of the Mychelle products that I’ve tried so far. For example, their honeydew cleanser is great for removing eye makeup, and their fruit enzyme scrub is very nice and is a product that I can use daily. Also adore the fruit enzyme mask, the one with glycolic acid as I have not tried the new one with lactic in it yet. Mychelle has a nice product line, but some things are hit and miss, which is to be expected due to various skin types.

This cleanser is way too drying for me. I was hoping to find something that would exfoliate as it cleansed, but my skin is far too sensitive. It didn’t sting during use, but it completely stripped my acid mantle and left my face completely dry. I am keeping it, though, and using it on my décolleté, where it works great. I use the MyChelle Creamy Pumpkin Cleanser on my face.

I had high hopes for this product. I wanted to try something to help fade my acne scarring, make my skin tone more even, and provide some brightening to my face. I did notice the brightening right away, especially on my forehead, and the little bumps there seemed to be diminishing. Unfortunately I couldn’t continue using this product because it was breaking me out on my chin and my cheeks. I had painful cystic acne that eventually went away after I stopped using the cleanser.

I’d probably rate this 2.5 if I could, as I prefer it to the Fruit Enzyme. My skin does seem a little brighter with it, and it’s only drying if I leave it on my skin too long. A quick wash-on-wash-off and my skin feels squeaky clean – which is tolerable for my normal-oily skin (normal cheeks, oily T-zone), but I’d still prefer a slightly softer more nourishing effect. I like the smell, texture and natural ingredients – but I’ve used better face washes from natural/organic ranges (e.g. the very reasonably priced Vitamin C wash from Avalon Organics).

In general I am not crazy about this cleanser, but it does do some good to my skin. I am young and have no signs of “sun damage” (knock on wood) and I still see a brightening effect after cleansing. I find the Apple Brightening cleanser more effective than fruit enzyme with result seeing, even with makeup removing (not 100% sure on this I need to test out the fruit enzyme again). This does not dry out my normal skin AT ALL. It is thick and foams nicely with a pleasant scent of real apple. Over all, MyChelle is my #1 skincare and I believe they make high quality products for their consumers.

Ugh. I should have known better. Not only is is super drying (and I mean super), but holy cow hello cystic acne! And plenty of it. I ONLY get this kind of acne when I a) put something toxic on my face or b) as in this case, wash with something that strips away all that is good and protective on my face. Maybe, just possibly, this would work acceptably on very, very oily skin, but damn it did me wrong. Grr.

This is an ok foaming cleanser, nice scent, not stripping cleans adequately, however, it does not do what it it says on the packaging, no brightening or diminishing of sun spots , blemishes , anti aging etc. Therefore I will not buy again, also it isn’t a concentrated as mychelle’s other cleansers cranberry, frut enzyme so you get through it a lot quicker.
