LOVE this cleanser and have been using it on and off for over 3 years. It hardly lathers up at all and it smells sweet but unusual, but those aren’t the reasons you should be purchasing this. It makes your skin glow, is non-drying, completely natural and is basically a ton of fruit juices and goodness that you’re applying to your face, every day, twice a day.
So many cleansers are either too strong or too hydrating and rich. It is hard to find a balance and this is one of those rare exceptions! Yes the bottle is quite basic and I don’t find it very good at removing make-up at the end of the day, but as I rarely wear makeup this is not an issue for me. If it is I simply switch to my PC cleanser and follow with this for that all-natural instant glow it gives.
Believe me when I say this is a very close contender for HG cleanser status if it wasn’t for those few very minor things. Despite that you have right here: a customer for life!

I would agree with the reviews that criticize the price and packaging. Yes, it is expensive, especially compared to other available cleansers. As for the bottle, I don’t mind the lid so much, but periodically the cleanser kind of congeals around the lid opening and clogs it. Not a big deal overall, but I’d rather do without this hassle. Smell and texture don’t repel or impress me in any particular way.
Cleanser itself is definitely a winner for me. I have stopped using makeup remover completely: my initial cleansing is done with oil, and I follow with this cleanser. It removes all lingering makeup without a trace, even mascara! Doesn’t dry out the skin or irritate the eyes either. My skin is sensitive and acne-prone (despite being in my 40ies), so it’s a big deal for me.
Another plus: I live in a very dry climate. With the winter we’ve had this year, it was even worse than usual – very cold outside, extremely dry inside, and at least 2 months longer than normal. I was amazed to discover that my skin did not flake or suffer from dry patches like it always does in winter. The cleanser is the only different thing in my routine, so by sheer logic I ascribe this unexpected effect only to the cleanser.
in addition, you only need a small amount and the bottle lasts forever. I started using mine on November 1, 2017 – it’s May 2018 and I am still going through the same bottle! Will definitely repurchase.

I wanted to find another natural gel cleanser to help my acne, so i thought i would give this one a try . The gel is a strange brown/yellow color and yes there is a slight foam lather. The scent is sweet smelling which might be overpowering for some.
The bottle is awkward and has a terrible press top lid making if difficult control the amount of liquid you need to wash your face. Having said this, you only need a small tiny amount to do the job.
I loved this product at first because my skin looked clean and bright. But after a few uses i started to notice my skin was looking red, sore and dry like sand paper. Now i can no longer use it. Disappointed because this gel cleanser has great ingredients just didn’t work well for my skin type.
The only other reason i bought this product was because it was on sale, otherwise i would never pay for such an expensive cleanser.

just started using it couple days ago
my skin seems brighter and my acne scars are lighter than usual but I still don’t see much of a difference with my overall skin appearance, maybe in a week or two I’ll compare the changes from before and after and hopefully see a big change at least with the colors of my scars.
it’s quite expensive for a small lil bottle the size of my palm the price ranges from 30 to 40 nz$ and i do wish they’d given more product for its slightly expensive price.
smells nice and comes out a weird browny yellow color with a normal cleanser consistency and slight foam lather.
I do find it quite exfoliating not drying or tight but just like its making all the dead skin show and peel off a bit, which I’m definitely not mad at since that’s what I need in general.

I don’t know. I would say I’m more than half way through my bottle and I’m not really blown away. I bought this mainly because it’s natural and I wanted more of that in my skincare. But I have yet to be wowed. It does clean out my skin, but that’s about it. I’m all about double cleansing so I remove my makeup and daily grime with a cleansing oil, then use this. The smell is nice and fruity, the color is brown (stains easily- be careful), and it foams nicely. It doesn’t have any effect of my pores or pigmentation, nor my daily breakouts- I’m VERY breakout-prone, so I’m not expecting anything crazy; still, just the same as usual. I’m oily, and it doesn’t tame my sebum production either. There certainly are better products out there, BUT if you’re a normal skin type and you’re not expecting your cleanser to solve any particular problem, this would do the job.

I love this product, it’s doing wonders for my acne prone skin! I use this with a combination of antipodes products and I can really see the difference. It’s clearing the redness, my acne and cystic acne breakouts are getting less and less. The texture of my skin is SO much better, less flakey, bumpy and pore parts of my skin showing. When I wake up in the morning my skin feels so soft and it is glowing. I use divine face oil, vanilla pod day cream, Juliet moisturiser, honey face mask and the kiwi eye cream,

I’ve always had a pretty bad history with cleansers – common surfactants kill my skin! Even the supposedly gentle cleansers without SLS, myristic acid, isopropyl palmitate etc strip my skin too much of its natural oils, causing my skin to dry out and actually make me break out more! (The science: dry skin = skin trying to compensate by producing more oil = more break outs). Foaming cleansers… tsk tsk.
As as result, I tend to stick with cream or solid cleansers like Lush’s Angels on Bare Skin to clean my face for morning cleanse and makeup removal purposes. However, the thing I don’t like about these kinds of cleansers – ESPECIALLY in the morning – is they take too long to use! Cream cleansers work best when you remove them with a flannel (otherwise they could leave a film over your face), and my Lush cleanser requires me to make a paste out of the solid clay form that it comes in so that I can actually use it. I am not a morning person and this is kinda annoying to do, especially when I want to rush my morning routine because of work!
Enter this particular Antipodes cleanser. Usually within one week, I can already tell if my skin reacts to skincare products positively or not. It’s a gel cleanser that foams up, so I heeded with caution upon trying this and decided to try a sample instead of buying it (it’s not cheap tbh). Here’s my verdict…
Pros:
– Hasn’t caused my skin to break out or get dry/dehydrated within the week’s use!!! It is still a gel cleanser that foams, like all the terrible ones I’ve used. These still use surfactants. But after looking up the ingredients, they use surfactants I’ve never seen before. I was a bit worried about that because they could still irritate my skin. But it hasn’t. Must be Antipodes trying to be all natural and different by choosing alternative surfactants in their cleanser.
– Quick to use in the morning! As much as I loved my Lush cleanser, I haven’t even looked at it in the past week. Like normal cleansers out there, this was quick, simple and easy to use.
– Doesn’t make my skin feel tight at all after rinsing. Very important to me! My skin does feel a *little* squeaky afterwards, but I think it’s just because my cream and solid cleansers do leave a bit of film after I rinse them off and I probably got used to that filmy feeling after cleansing.
– I tested this cleanser just on the right side of my face at first, using my normal Lush cleanser on the left side for comparison. I actually broke out LESS on the right side of my face! Well, this cleanser is supposed to control acne.
Cons:
– The bottle. I wish it came in a pump bottle instead. You would have to tip the bottle and squeeze it out on your hand to get the product out. For a 200ml bottle, that would be annoying.
– It’s not cheap. In Australia (where I am), it’s $32. It’s a great cleanser – the kind of cleanser I’ve searched for far and wide – but I’m not gonna ignore the price.
– The smell. It’s not a bad smell. It’s actually nice and sweet. But it’s very potent. I would prefer a more neutral-smelling scent. But at least the scent doesn’t linger on for long anyway.
The only thing deterring me from buying this cleanser is the price. But since I’ll only be using this as a morning cleanser and for days I’m not wearing makeup (I have no intention of using this as a makeup remover), maybe buying it for $32 wouldn’t be so bad if the bottle lasts a long time. Either way, I’ll just wait for Priceline to have their 40% skincare sale to buy and restock this!
TLDR: this is probably my dream cleanser. It’s quick and simple to use, it cleanses my skin without stripping away all the important natural oils, and I think it might even preventing my skin from breaking out too much. It’s expensive, but I can make do.

I used this product for 4 months, so I think I can honestly share my experience with the cleanser. First of all, it smells delightful, like an artisan gummy candy. I use this cleanser as my nighttime cleanser. If I am wearing makeup and sunblock, I first wipe over face with Bioderma, cleanse with my Acne.org cleanser, lastly i’ll cleanse with a tiny amount of Juliet. I use about a dime. It does feel drying! I have dry, sensitive skin. I don’t use moisturizer PM. I feel you should let your skin breath at night, and my skin looks more even-toned the days I don’t moisturize the night before. It’s expensive. I can only order online thru a NZ retailer. I know it’s weird to go to all that trouble. But 4 months of highly use and i’m only a couple ml’s below the label! It lasts! I believe since adding the Juliet cleanser into my routine my skin tone looks a lot more even, and just a healthier skin look to it. I can say this because for years I used to only use my Acne.org gentle cleanser 2x a day and my skin was okay, but i had a lot of hyper pigmentation and redness. Honestly, if you have really sensitive, dry, acne prone skin like me using the Juliet cleanser 2x might not clean your skin well enough. I think it’s better for us to use it only at night or day. You should also look into a gentle cleanser to really clean you and one cleanser to nourish the skin. Ahhh, done with my long awaited ranting review!

This cleanser has worked pretty well for me. It leaves my face feeling deeply cleaned and I think I will buy more when I run out.

I read about this after mypaleskin on youtube included this in her skincare routine video (and the improvement in her skin was inspiring). I was left pretty disappointed… I used this after finishing my Dermalogica Special Cleansing Gel with high expectations.
This is a really basic cleanser and I actually broke out when using this cleanser – I don’t think I broke out from this cleanser specifically but I felt that maybe it was not removing my makeup as well as my Dermalogica cleanser? (I double cleanse).
Pros: it is a gentle cleanser, definitely feels natural and ‘better’ for your skin.
Cons: it was not cheap, the plastic packaging exploded when I dropped it on the floor, the brown color of the cleanser stained my vanity planet cleansing brush head, did nothing to brighten my hyper pigmentation, did not prevent breakouts
It was just not worth the money, a Simple cleanser from Boots would have performed the same. I say just fork out for Dermalogica’s Special Cleansing Gel (price difference is small) as that is an effective but super gentle cleanser for extremely acne prone skin, especially if you wear a lot of face makeup.
