Yet again this another product ‘recommended’ by one of the beauty ‘gurus’ on YouTube. When will I learn?!?
This is meant to be a gentle cream cleanser which you can use morning and evening to clear impurities and remove make up. It’s dermatologically approved and organic and it’s also a ‘true gift for sensitive skin’ (according to the back of the box). Well as someone who has sensitive skin let me tell you this – that last quote is not true!
I’ve been using this only in the mornings for about a month. Twice a day and I know for a fact my skin would throw a fit and flare up. On application this stings and once I’ve worked it into my skin, that stinging sensation doesn’t go away. Granted, it doesn’t get any worse, but it’s not a feeling I want any time of the day let alone first thing in the morning. Once it’s been washed off it does leave my skin feeling smooth, but it also leaves my skin feeling like it’s not been washed thoroughly either. I don’t like face cleansers which make my skin feel stripped, but neither do I like ones that are so gentle they feel like they’ve done nothing at all. And sadly, this cleanser falls into the latter category.
The other irritating thing about this is the tube it comes in – it’s one of those hard, metal ones which makes it increasingly difficult to get the product out the further down the tube you get. It would have been better in a plastic tube or even a tub in my opinion. I would imagine someone with limited mobility in their hands would find this especially difficult to use.
Finally, this cost me around £30 for a 120ml tube which is absolutely astronomical when you consider how long it lasts (about a month when using it once a day, every day). If it did something noticeable to my skin I could probably justify that cost, but I’ve genuinely not notice any positive changes and won’t be purchasing this again.

I love this cleanser, so much so that I bought 3 tubes when Priceline had a ‘buy 2 get 1 free’ promo!
I have sensitive skin that becomes dry in the colder months.
This cleanser doesn’t leave a film or cause any irritation & cleanses beautifully.
Before this, I was using Trilogy’s Gentle Cream Cleanser for sensitive skin, until they changed the formula!

I have now finished this cream cleanser which states it is for sensitive, sensitised or irritated skin. My skin isn’t sensitive, but normal to dry with occasional pimples; I was actually looking for the balm cleanser or their other lotion cleanser but the local Priceline didn’t have either, so I bought this instead. It cost AU$40 from Priceline for 120ml.
I wouldn’t recommend this for sensitive skin at all. On application, there is a slight warming sensation on the little spots on my face I get from time to time. Now that I have used the whole tube I found that the sensation got more and more irritating to the point where it actually began to sting. If someone had truly sensitive skin, this would be a pretty awful experience. So if you have sensitive skin, skip this cleanser!
Otherwise, the cleanser is attractively packaged in a metal tube with a screwtop (think Dr H, Jurlique, Aesop etc). The tube is cream with black lettering which appeals to the minimalist in me. I stored it in the soap dish built into my shower with no problems.
The fragrance (yes, a sensitive skin cleanser has fragrance even though it purports to be fragrance free) is mild and pleasant.
The consistency is that of a reasonably thick lotion. It rinses off well, gets all makeup, dirt, sweat etc off with ease and it can be removed either with just warm water or a face washer (I prefer the latter). You don’t need a lot of product in order to clean your face either, so I suppose it is economical, although the initial outlay of $40 burns a bit (though I suppose it is all certified organic so maybe it is well priced).
The main ingredients seem to be avocado oil and something called Vinanza Oxifend super anti inflammatory antioxidant which is made from pinot grapes from the Marlborough. I prefer to drink my grapes than put them on my face, but whatever floats your boat.
I’ve put that I wouldn’t buy this again, only because I think there are better cleansers out there for the price and in terms of cream cleansers in this category, I probably prefer Trilogy’s cream cleanser which doesn’t irritate my skin.
