I’ve been using this for a couple weeks, as a replacement for my PanOxyl creamy face wash, which is 10% benxoyl peroxide. This stuff is 4% benzoyl peroxide. I’ve been happy with it so far. I find I can use the PanOxyl on my back for body acne without a problem, but it’s just too strong and irritating for my face. This stuff has been much gentler, and seems to have the same benefit in terms of keeping the inflammatory acne at bay. My skin is pretty toughened to benzoyl peroxide, so I use it once a day on my back in the shower, and twice a day on my face (in combination with Finacea twice a day too at the moment.)
I can’t recommend benzoyl peroxide washes in the shower enough as a convenient and effective means of controlling both body and face acne. I used the acne.org regimen for a long time, which uses low percentage benzoyl peroxide cream once or twice a day, with pretty good results, but after years of it I got tired of intermittently ruining clothing accidentally, and always having bleached and destroyed sheets. Now, I use the washes, rinse well, and dry off with a white towel, and I haven’t had any fabric bleaching problems since. It’s been just as effective for me in terms of acne control too, and less irritating. Good stuff!

Been using this for a week – so far so good!
I was on novo-cyproterone/ethinyl estradiol tablets (aka the generic version of the pill Diane) to control my acne until recently, but I ran out and wasn’t be able to get my dermatologist appointment for another 3 weeks. My breakouts have been returning, so I bought this to control my breakouts, because it has 4% benzoyl peroxide. Even though this is a cleanser and doesn’t stay on the skin for too long, I do feel like this has prevented new acne from forming. I haven’t had any new breakouts since starting this.
In addition to the cleanser, I’m also using 5% BP on my blemishes only, which I also started this week and is helping the active acne go away. Also using another BP-based topical medication at a lower concentration, which I have always done. I also use my Clarisonic 2-3 times a week.
The only bad thing is that it dries out the skin if you use it too often… so I try to limit my use to every other day.
