This is the best ever! However, in trying to repurchase, I got the “calming lavender” scent. Perhaps you can’t get the lavender and chamomile anymore? The calming lavender is awful, just terrible. It’s a joke! It’s heavy, thick, like cornstarch. When in use, you can feel it in your mouth, even being very careful! It smells awful. So sad. I’ll be hunting for more of the lavender chamomile!

Edit – Dec 2015 – I do not like this powder anymore. The lavender chamomile scent is almost undetectable. The new box I bought is just cornstarch without any scent. $5 wasted.
Previous review – I like this powder especially since it has corn starch instead of talc. I do not detect much of the lavender scent that folks have mentioned in the review – I hope I have not got an older box of the powder. That’s the reason for. One lippie off – there is no expiry date or manufacturing date on the box. Also the powder leaves white streaks. The lid does not open so I cannot add lavender essence if the scent has diminished over months.
There are a myriad uses of this powder – after shower dusting powder, used on the face after applying a light moisturizer, sprinkle on the bedsheets or even on the upholstery and carpets (esp after summer is over and there is no use of the powder).
I do hope that cornstarch is not comedogenic or acne causing – internet has conflicting information in this regard.

I love this powder and use it daily, sometimes even 2x a day after I bathe or shower. I have been using body powders for about 25 years now, and J&J is the best there is. I recently switched to the corn starch version though due to concerns over cancer. I’m not sure if talc is a carcinogen or not, but I’d rather not chance it at this stage in my life. Plus, this just smells really nice and soft.
I will have to try this on my face sometime though as some of the reviews have suggested. I never once thought of using it on my face, but thanks for the idea.

This has been a staple in my beauty pantry for ages. Like many have said, this product is very versatile! You can apply light dusting to set your makeup, a blotting powder (I find that it keeps my oiliness at bay), a dry shampoo, a body powder, and I even use it to prime my skin before waxing to help soak up excess moisture so the wax can adhere better to the hairs! This helps reduce the number of hairs left before waxing.
The only reason why I took off one lipstick is because, as someone said before, they have changed the formula. It no longer has that ‘silky texture’ because of the cornstarch and it’s not as smooth. Be as it may, I will continue to love this over any other transparent loose powder!
I hope this helped someone. 🙂

I bought this to keep me dry during the summer and to use before epilating. This powder is not as silky as I remembered it to be!! It’s got a grainy feeling. I got the one w cornstarch which is probably why. Not a fan of the smell and it didn’t really keep me dry at all. Infact the texture made me feel even worse than if I didn’t use this powder!! Price was cheap but wouldn’t buy again.

I love this stuff! Not only is baby powder wonderful for setting make-up (espeically if you have pale, oily skin like I do) but this one smells wonderful. I hate the scent of regular baby powder so this works for me. I love the smell, especially on the body before bed.

I bought this thinking it’s like the original formula, only scented, but I was wrong! It has cornstarch in it! and I hate cornstarch in powders! I can’t use this on my face because of the cornstarch. It also isn’t good for the body. Since I live in a tropical country, it’s always hot here. When I use this powder on my body, it doesn’t mix well with sweat. It also leaves a white line around my neck which is embarrassing! I’ll go back to using the original one.

I don’t do baby powder too often becuase I have dry skin but this baby powder is the BEST smelling baby powder. I don’t like the original scent of baby powder because it makes me nautious but this stuff has an intoxicating scent. Definately would keep this on hand for days I know it’s going to be hot and humid out.

I have two big bottles of this stuff and what is it great for? Setting makeup! Also, mixing it into face powders or bronzers that are too dark for you. I have the Make Up For Ever HD translucent powder and used the Laura Mercier translucent powder before that and honestly I still turn to my trusty $3 bottle of drugstore baby powder. Never cakes! It works the best over liquid foundation and concealer. My HD powder left streaks and darkened where I had dabbed on concealer over my foundation. My J&J powder never does that! After I finished my Laura Mercier powder I filled the jar and sifter with this powder. I’m never spending $40 on a loose powder again. Baby powder is so versatile.

I’m in love with the scent of this product. its not really a lavender scent, its more of a soft musky scent. i switched from the original scent to this one because using the original scent as a hair powder left my hair with a weird smell (hard to describe, but along the lines of bitter chocolate). this powder’s scent fades fast, but its better than smelling weird. i also have been using it as a setting powder over my foundation and it works better at oil control than any other face powder i’ve bought before. very affordable. will buy again and again.
