Since my sensitive skin tends to flare up from most skincare products, I thought a soap designed for eczema and psoriasis might be a good idea. It states on the packaging that it’s gentle enough to be used on the face, so I was pretty hopeful that I had found something at last that wouldn’t irritate the crap out of my complexion. Unfortunately, in an odd move, it contains fragrance as the fourth ingredient, which isn’t a great idea for those suffering from skin conditions.
This soap left my skin feeling uncomfortably dry, itchy, and red afterwards. It did lather very well, so I’ll delegate it to my body, but ultimately it was too harsh and heavily scented for my face.

I have suffered from eczema all of my life and I have been using this product as my daily body wash for over a year. This past year has been the first that I have not had eczema on my body and it is amazing. This can be hard to find, but I purchase on jet.com and it is the cheapest price, plus I get it in bulk so I never run out. I always fear they will discontinue this product. It is amazing for me.

This is not to be confused with Shea Moisture’s regular African black soap, this is a special version that was created specifically for eczema and psoriasis.
I was hesitant to buy this, i have the regular African black soap from them to use on my face when i break out and i found it super drying, which is the opposite of what eczema and psoriasis sufferers need.
But what a God send this product is. This has chunks of oatmeal and is perfect for exfoliating those tough scales we suffer from.
When i have an active break out i use this every 2-3 days, when my skin is normal use it every 3-4 days, it has replaced my Tree Hut body scrubs as my body exfoliate. It smells lovely, lathers well, rinses clean and doesn’t dry me out AND ITS CHEAP!! It can and will stain your tub, so def get a soap dish and make sure to rinse your tub when your done.
I dont have as nearly as many out breaks as i used to since i’ve finally found a regime that works for me, and this soap is a big contributor to that. I love this and will never be without this bar of soap again.
