Beautiful deep shimmery red – I love Soft Red, but find Garnet to be infinitely more wearable.
I did not find this to be long wearing, but it did leave a stain behind that the NYC Ultra Moist lipsticks do not. On the upside, not drying like long wear lipsticks are.
Same problem with all the NYC lipstick packaging; the lid doesn’t snap shut, and you cannot retract the tube completely.
For a buck, though, definite repurchase if I were not so fickle and always looking for the next best thing.

My hubby prefers a nude or light lip on me. That being said, I seldom wear bold colors, or I will when im at work and not around him. Yesterday, I was feeling bummed and wanted a quick mood pick-up and decided to head over cvs and bige on d/s make up. Saw this beautiful (slight) shimmery deep red and snatched it up. As soon as I got in my car, I put this on and I was glad I made the purchase. I am NC30-35, black hair, brown eyes, and this color looked great! It was the pop of color I was looking for!
On me, it is a deep red with slight shimmer, and the shimmer gives it the oopmh to distingush it from all the other reds I own.
Imagine my surprise when hubby take a second look at me when we were having dinner and said “wow, that color looks great on you”. LOL.
Oh, and it lasted trhoughout dinner and dessert too! And it didn’t leave my lips feeling dry at all.

I love the color and texture of this lipstick but after the cap came off three times (in my purse) in one week, I gave up and pitched it. Sad because I really liked how the color looked on me (fair skin, dark blonde hair). Sigh. Did I just get a bad tube? I’ve been reading reviews and it doesn’t seem to be a huge problem for others, so maybe I just got a renegade tube. Of course, I realize the price of this lipstick doesn’t lend itself to excellent packaging, but still…it was frustrating. If I found the same color packaged differently, I would definitely repurchase because I think it would be lovely for fall. EDIT: Well, apparently I’m consistent in what colors I like, because I accidentally bought a 2nd tube of this and I really do like how it looks on me AND I love that it isn’t heavy at all – feels like a lip balm. So I’m just being super careful about how I store the tube in my purse – haven’t had the cap come off yet, so here’s hoping….2nd EDIT: I find that I’m not using as much because it does tend to bleed just a bit. Not too bad, but I do think twice before I put it on. I would still repurchase just for the beautiful shade.
