I have weird Asian hair where half of it is stick straight and kinky/wavy in random spots. I usually have to flat iron if I want to wear my hair down so I figured I would try my hand at attempting some beach waves (since I live a block from the beach anyways). Unfortunately, this doesn’t give me beach waves. In fact, if I wait until my hair is 99% dry and blast with a blowdryer combing with my fingers, it actually makes my hair really shiny and (ironically) straight. Takes less than a minute and I haven’t had to use a flat iron in months so I’m happy with the results. I’m not usually a fan of coconut fragrances but I actually like the smell of this. The only thing is they recently reformulated their product so the shampoo is super thick and hard to get out of the package. Haven’t noticed any change in the conditioner. After they reformulated, I find that I only need a dime sized amount of the shampoo so I end up going through the conditioner faster than the shampoo. Will continue to repurchase for now until I find something else I want to try.

I really liked this combo! It cleans well and de tangles well. The smell is heavenly and I would repurchase again

I have a love/hate relationship with these products. I adore the smell of the shampoo and conditioner. And the fact that it’s sulfate free is great. It gets my hair clean and doesn’t make my hair fall out like so many products do. However, it has it’s downsides. The conditioner has a tendency to separate, so it needs to be shaken well before every use which is annoying. I also end up using a lot of the shampoo and conditioner because they don’t distribute very evenly. I’m currently trying out other brands, but these are my go-to when I’m in-between trying things out.

I have only used the conditioner, not the shampoo. And I will *never* use the conditioner again. The fake coconut smell is accomplished by using way too much almond oil which takes several days to wash out – after giving me a pounding headache. While it did seem to give my naturally straight hair some wave it also weighed it down. Heavy, limp, sickly sweet smelling hair. Bleh!

This stuff is really bad. I don’t have nearly as many problems with regular, properly formulated sulfate shampoos as I have with sulfate free ones. I can’t wait for this anti-sulfate, anti-silicone advertising to blow over, the stuff that they are coming out with is awful, including this. This makes my hair dry, matted and tangled, and I get a ton of breakage. Does not smell like coconut, either, which is why I bought these in the first place. They do make trial sizes, I’d go with those before spending money on full sized bottles of these.
p.s. If you want just a regular shampoo that actually smells like coconut, Cococare coconut shampoo is a good one

So let me start out by saying this product is SULFATE FREE. It should not lather as the harmful chemicals, sulfates, are the things that cause lathering as well as drying out your hair.
Now that we’ve covered that I have to say I LOVE this stuff! I get my hair nice and wet and comb through it with a hand in the shower then put the thick shampoo on it. After a little bit it runs clean. Then the conditioner. It’s like a serum and feels fine.
When I got out of the shower I towel dried my chin length straight hair and then put it up in a bun. When it dried? So much volume and wave! Beautiful.
Ill buy this stuff forever!

I have fine hair and these products really help with volume and thickness. I like the beachy scent. The shampoo is really thick and I find I have to use more than other shampoos to get a good lather. The conditioner, on the other hand, is thinner than typical conditioners. At any rate, I very much like the results I’ve achieved and plan to purchase again.

The shampoo is super thick, hard to spread and doesn’t lather very well. It mats my hair up and makes it super dry and tangled. Another poorly formulated sulfate free bandwagon shampoo that doesn’t work. The conditioner is a little better, though it’s better when it’s paired with a different shampoo that doesn’t tangle as much. The conditioner doesn’t zap hair of body and does add some texture, but can feel a little drying. And though it smells a little like coconut in the bottle, when you use it, it has a very strong, artificial vanilla scent that lingers (similar to pacifica’s coconut, which also has a strong vanilla scent).
Overall, a disappointing purchase. I would not buy again.
Edit 4/12- down to one star from two, this stuff is horrible. After a few uses, it’s like it sucked the life and the moisture right out of my hair, like a chemical treatment. Now I’m desperately spending money on products trying to get some life back into my hair. Not even 14 hours of coconut oil helped. This stuff is evil!
