I picked this up a couple of months ago on a whim when I was at a Japanese grocery and all I have to say is “Why did I not know about this stuff sooner?” It really does a good job of taking care of any dryness in my hair due to having to dye it so frequently to cover the gray. It does have a bit of a floral scent, but it has not been enough to bother my allergies. It also does not break me out around my hairline, shoulders, neck and back like some other brands do. The main negative I can think of is that at USD 20.50 it’s a little pricey compared to other brands that can be had from someplace other than a salon.
If you don’t have a Japanese grocery near you, it can be purchased from Amazon from several US based sellers so availability is not bad. It’s definitely worth a try if you are looking for a heavier product to repair your hair.

Other mask I tried is kiehls and clairol , but prefer this as it really moisturised the hair inside . Leaves hair soft without much residue . My hair looked better within weeks after frequent use . And the softness was from within .Smell is okay .

I will spare you the horrific details of how I abuse my hair with dyes, heat styling, and harsh brushing on a near-daily basis. I had tried the Tsubaki shampoo and conditioner and was totally in love, so I wanted to explore the full range of products. I will preface my praise by stating that I have thick, wavy, slightly coarse hair that can really handle oily products. If this does not sound like you, I would not advise the use of this hair mask. It is incredibly rich due to the camellia oil for which it is named. I applied a glob to my ends first, working the product through the length of my hair and then to the roots. You really do not need a ton of mask, it spreads well and is ultra hydrating. I wrapped my head in plastic and blow dried my head for a few minutes to open the cuticle and get things going. Then I took a hot bath for about one hour and rinsed out the mask. I was stunned by the results. My ends were no longer dry and splayed, they laid evenly and made me look like I just had a trip to the salon. My hair was visibly smoother and glossier. There aren’t a ton of hair products I have had immediate results with so this is getting HG status. As such, I don’t mind the $22 price tag but hope to purchase it in Asia for a lower price…

I love this product, my sister brought it home awhile ago and left it, so I use it whenever my hair is feeling especially dry. The smell of tsubaki is so amazing, it lasts on my hair all the next day when I use this. I concentrate this product on my ends and leave it in for about 5-10 minutes. It makes hair a lot smoother and less straw-like, lol. It is expensive in the U.S. but I’m planning to buy some when I go back to Taiwan where it is much cheaper. Great product 🙂

My mom swears by this, I absolutely hate it.
1. The packaging – Dumbest packaging ever. It comes in a small tub, but you need to grip the very bottom of the jar tightly, otherwise all you’re holding onto is the lid and the bottom of the tub will slip from your hands and product will go everywhere. Be careful when handling this product in the shower, especially if the water is running.
2. The scent – Scent is overpowering and fake. It makes me nauseous all day.
3. The texture – It leaves my fine hair feeling gunky like it has buildup, just after one use. I would stay away from this if you have fine/thin hair.
