I have to be honest and say that this is the worst nail hardener I’ve ever used! The price is pretty cheap, but in this case, you get what you pay for. The main problem that I have is that while its not a fast drying top coat-hardener, this stuff is ridiculous in that it literally takes a full 2 days to dry! It will look and feel dry, but then when I wake up the next morning, my new Mani is ruined with sheet and blanket marks! The best thing about this stuff is the cute round bottle that it comes in! I’m going to pour the product out of the bottle, clean it up really well, and put my own cuticle oil mixture in it!

I bought this about two years ago, after watching a few videos on DIY manicures. The products mentioned were sold exclusively at Sallys beauty supply. This is the kind of product that I can honestly “take it or leave it”. It did a good job of sealing in the nail color and making it shiny. The shine factor is not any more stunning than your average top coat. It did not take a long time to dry, which is always a huge plus. As far as the hardening aspect goes, I did not see a massive change in the strength of my nails that would set this brand apart from the others. Overall, It is inexpensive and does the job – which makes it a reasonable bargain.

Best Product EVER!!! By Nature my nails are thin already and after years of Acrylic Nails they are completely Damaged!!! This is BEST Product EVER!!! Try many of them,nothing like it!!!
Other products- hardeners just PEALED Off after 24 hr’s,doesn’t do anything for you!

I bought this at Sally because of the price and good reviews but sorry to say, it does not work for me. Yes, it is a hardener but sucks at being a top coat because it does not dry until day two after the shine wears off and I wake up with sheet marks and dents in my nail polish.
I always do my manicures and pedicures in the morning on weekends. I expect my nail polish to be totally set and dry in two hours without the help of any drying spray or drops or dunking in ice water. But this top coat does not dry at all, even though it looks and feels dry by bedtime, I wake up with marks like I went to war in my sleep. Never purchasing again.

This top coat has a thin texture and was exceptionally slow drying. It didn’t seem to either harden my nails or make them thicker.
Nail Hardener & Thickener is formaldehyde and toluene free. As with all Beauty Secret products, it’s only available from Sally Beauty Supply.

I’m not impressed with this top coat. I was browsing the nails aisle at Sally’s and was drawn to the cheap price of this one ($2.99 if I remember correctly), but unfortunately you get what you pay for.
I use it in conjunction with the Beauty Secrets moisturizing base coat, and I haven’t noticed much of a difference in the staying power of my nail polish. Even with polishing over the edges of my nails I get chips within 1-2 days, not cute. I like the shine it gives but even that dulls after a day or so. The worst thing is that it takes forever to dry. After the color dries I apply the top coat, and it takes longer for the top coat to dry than it did for the color to dry! Even when it looks done I get little dents all over.
I definitely won’t purchase this again, I’m about halfway done with the bottle and I might even throw it out, it’s that bad.

This is the only top coat that saves my thin, weak nails.
I use a lot of nail polish, and I get chips and tip wear within 1-2 days with any brand of polish if I don’t use this hardener top coat. This even saves MAC polishes for me, which start to chip on my nails within a day, but last 3 days before minor tip wear occurs when I use this as the top coat.
It’s the only one I’ve ever tried that really makes my nails super hard. My nails are prone to breakage, which always happens if I go a while without using this stuff. When I use it, they’re super strong and resilient with no breakage. I can grow my nails SUPER long if I use this stuff 1-2 times a week.
I used to stray to try other brands, but I always come back to this top coat — it’s a must if your nails are thin and/or brittle. (And the bottle is HUGE and lasts ages!)

This is a very decent topcoat but nothing special for me. Makes your nails strong and poilish last decently but just ended up being mediocre for me as I could alyer 5 times and still not have shine or feel like I had a topcoat on as it’s really thin. A great cheapie purchase to jsut have for a backup or touchups as I love the cute little bottle adn strength it adds to my nails. However doesn’t begin to compare to Seche Vite as far as shine and that hard as glass sealed feel it gives.

This product is FANTASTIC. I have really thin and brittle nails that break all the time and I’ve tried so many different products. This is by far the best. My nails don’t bend in all different directions anymore, and I’m finally able to grow my nails because they’ve stopped breaking every second. I’d definitely say it makes my nails look and feel like acrylics without looking tacky. My friends have noticed to, I’ve gotten a lot of compliments.
I know it’s advertised as a top coat, but I find if it works really well under polish and helps the polish stick too- sort of like how nail polish lasts longer over acrylics. I used one coat of essie first base base coat, two coat of beauty secrets nail hardener/thickener, two coats of china glaze grape juice, and one coat of seche vite fast dry top coat and after 9 days my polish has yet to chip!! This stuff is a life saver!! My only complaint is that my manicure lasts so long that I don’t have an excuse to use it as often as I’d like to!!
