Definitely whitens (not permanently – just has a slight purple cast which, as anyone who knows the color wheel would know neutralizes yellow).
Minuses – I find it flakes off rather quickly with one cot and two coats makes it too purple-y.

So far I am loving this. It is a new additiinal line to Essence’s normal nail line, called Studio Nails.
I am a reformed nail biter, so my nails have been coming in quite soft/peely and sometimes with a yellow tinge.
I was originally going for the hardener but they also had this peo white hardener version, so why not kill 2 birds with 1 stone right?
I have been using this as a nail treatment for 2 weeks so far and my nails are coming in shiny, harder and clearer. At $ 2.95 colour me impressed. It is getting too expensive to purchase Herome for $30 a bottle as much as I do like it.
I also use this as a top coat as it has a good amount of shine and is quite fast drying.
