I’m suprised at the low reviews this product has received. I’ve always had excellent results and often used it to “freshen” up my tone in between doing my roots. I think the trick is to be sure you’re hair is lightened to a light enough shade…I’ve had great results and am sad that it’s discontinued.

I have bleached hair and often use this toner. It’s one of the few toners that is very gentle and won’t hurt your hair. Of course the smell is bad, and I hate that you must purchase the ‘activating crystals’ separately ( why not just include them in the packaging ?? ).
I use Innocent Ivory and it tones the yellow from my light bleached blonde hair. But it just doesn’t last very long. It washes out pretty quickly. This is good if you need a ‘quick fix’ toner, but it doesn’t last long.

I wish had never used this. I had really soft shiny dark blonde hair but I didn’t like the tone. I hadn’t been to the salon in awhile and it turned brassy/coppery. This made my hair dry and frizzy and it looks dull. The shine is gone! The worst part is my hair is still brassy. Live and learn I suppose. This is what I get for trying to save a few bucks rather than going to the salon. BTW I used Winsome Wheat according to directions with the little packet of crystals.

First off the smell is just awful. I’ve been doing my own hair for years and know the smell of dye, bleach, and perm solution can be noxious. This smells like cheap aftershave, for a womens product it smells very masculine.
It’s easy to mix up and apply, very gentle and does not dry out my hair. It’s a great way to refresh lightened hair, or make bleached hair look more natural and less washed out. Cancels out those icky yellow tones.
I would rec’ this over creme toner for those who frequently bleach, it is very gentle and will not further any damage to your hair. It has to be reapplied every two or three weeks, which other then the scent is the only downfall.
