I first heard about this like 5 or 6 yrs ago at my mother in laws house from one of her friends who was visiting from Arizona. This lady was all about this stuff!!! She would buy out the near by Asian store! Anyway—years later, when I was looking for a good skin lightener…I came across this online. It said it also had sulfur and salicylic acid..sounded like great stuff to me!!!! but, LITTLE DID I know, THEY CHANGED THE formula AND x’d out the sulfur and salicylic acid 🙁 I went ahead and purchased the cream anyway and used it under my eyes….I was a bit skeptical but thought, oh well…my m.i.l’s friend puts this on her face daily and she looks good. When I woke up–WHOA!!!!! the skin under and around my eyes looked great!!! My eyes looked rested and hydrated!!!! I had no idea it would make my eyes look this great!!!! So now, that is what I use it for–the occasion eye cream…. I am in no way ballsy enough to try to use it all over my face since I have super bad acne prone skin….I’m scared it will break me out and the new formula doesn’t have salicylic acid or sulfur anymore….
I think it does a great job with hydration. Especially in areas where you might have wrinkles or might start forming them in the near future….other then that–with the new formula, I cant recommend it to anyone that they use it on their whole face, unless maybe you have mature skin or very dry skin–maybe that would work well.

Yes.. I would like the OLD LY NA not the new one. I’ve been using this product since I was 17 years old. Now, I’m on late 50’s and still works for me. Unfortunately, the last time I used was from last year. I went to different places in Chinese store for no where to find. I’m desperately needed. I agree that the old one is better than the new one. Many of my friends in Ohio are looking for this product.
This is in reference with Kamee’s review back on 2009 that safe to use the one in the pink jar with gold on the lid and the box is like peach color. This is the one that I’ve been using ever since. Thank you Kamee for sharing this information.

Tried this about 2-3 years ago, checked the ingredients and noticed it no longer contains sulfur, which made my skin look AMAZING, and now it contains vaseline too. Sigh. I really liked this product. One of the few products that could clear my dark spots. I saw a reduction in active acne too.
Old Lyna Pearl – YES!
New one – Not the same! 🙁

Ditto! From the review below. Not same ingredients. Wish it was the same formula the old one worked good. Why… Why…

I loved using Ly-na Pearl Face Cream, a few years ago, even stocked up. It gave me smooth acne-free skin and got rid of my acne marks
A few months ago, I ran out and I finally found some again at a Seafood City, but it wasn’t the same product.
The ingredients are now VASELINE, Octyl palmitate, fatty acid esters, Stearic acid, cetyl alcohol, myristic acid, TALC and FRAGRANCE.
It is also distributed by Larkin, Inc.? When before, it clearly read “Technical Cooperation with M.F. Productions, Paris, France.”
I prefer the old ingredients, because I know sulfur helps clear up acne (at least in MY experience), and I think the pearl powder really works and smooths your skin pretty effectively.
Be careful when buying this because most of the good reviews on here are on the OLD LY-NA, the one that contained actual Pearl Powder and Sulfur.
I’ve been using this new one for 4 days, exactly as I used the old one (washed my face thoroughly, and left it on overnight), and my forehead has been breaking out with tiny pimples. I won’t use it anymore, since it has gone through a complete transformation, and is now useless to me. A real shame because I adored this cream and recommended it to a bunch of friends.

I was actually looking for a different whitening cream, very similar to this one, but settled for this, since the store, that I was at didn’t have the other one.
The packaging is somewhat cheap and the container makes it seem as if you have more, but it’s actually very shallow. I haven’t used that much to see the bottom, but given the cheap plastic you can lift up the container and hold it against the light to see it…
However, it is very effective, it does what it promises. I have only been using it a couple of times and sparingly, as it gave me a little bit of a rash with more generous use. Due to that reaction of my skin I first decided to throw it out, but then changed my mind and gave it another try, this time using it in a lesser amount. And my skin hasn’t reacted as drastic until now. I was able to tell a difference in just a couple of uses, I don’t know if that is the norm though, maybe it’s just my skin.
Although I like how good the product works, I won’t be buying it again, since my skin seems to be very sensitive to it.

Im finishing my second jar right now…..
So far, it lightens my skin A LOT and theres a huge contrast between my neck and face. lol.
HEALS pimples/blemishes faster that benzoyl peroxide. Not drying at all.
However, after a few months of using it, I felt that the effect is not as good anymore. But this product is so far my HG product skin saver.

I’ve used this for well over 20 years. My mom gave it to me when I hit puberty and I’ve used it since.
It is a little on the greasy side but I was told to wet my fingers with a little bit of water then apply it all over my face and neck.
Check the ingredients if you are worried about mercury. I use the pink tub and have not had any issues with it.

I bought this stuff for really cheap (~$4) at an asian supermarket. It’s greasy but it doesn’t clog pores. I haven’t had trouble blending it into my face. It blends well. I haven’t noticed a significant difference in my complexion/acne.

This is my HG for pimples and scars. It works better than teatree oil and any other acne meds that i used. I have this and I have been using this for about 3 months now and I have an extra one if anyone wants to SWAP with me. It’s great for lightening up old acne scars. I noticed that my old pimple scars started fading on the 6th day of using it. This also contain sulfur (good for healing pimples) but i dont smell any of it in the cream. I get this when i go overseas and the price is economical and i like the texture of the cream. It’s more like a balm and it melts right on my skin.
I CHECK THE INGREDIENTS ON THE BOX AND THIS DOES NOT CONTAIN MERCURY AS OPPOSE TO WHAT THE REVIEWER BELOW SAID.
HERE ARE THE INGREDIENTS: STEARIC ACID, CETANOL, LANOLIN, GLYCERYL, MONOSTEARATE, ISOPROPYL, MYRISTATE, SULFUR, PERFUME, ION EXCHANGE WATER, GLYCERINE, POTASSIUM HYDROXIDE, PEARL POWDER.
THIS IS ALSO MADE IN TAIWAN.
