I’ve been having problems with clear fluid filled red bumps around my mouth for months now. They don’t hurt a whole lot but they just won’t go away. I googled it and experimented with several conditions I found, but nothing seemed to make much difference. Very frustrating!
While looking around on Amazon one day, I found this product from TreeActiv. There were mostly rave reviews, along with before and after pics, so I was intrigued. I know that my skin tolerates tea tree oil well, and the other ingredients were all interesting. Unfortunately, I couldn’t find any reviews here on makeup alley (which is my most trusted source).
I have tried several moisturizers for oily skin, and they have been effective as far as relieving dry, flaky skin from cold winter air or from acne treatments that were too drying while not causing more breakouts. However despite claims to help control oil and fight acne, none of these seemed to offer any boost in those areas.
The price wasn’t bad ($20 for 3 oz), so I decided to give it a shot.
I’ve only been using twice a day for about a week, but I am pleased. The red bumps around my mouth are mostly gone, I haven’t had new pimples form, PIH has faded and my skintone is much more even, my skin is not greasy, and the flakies are all gone. My oiliness has not decreased, but I would expect it to take some more regular use to see whether that will occur.
The cream itself is thin like a lotion and is pretty highly fragranced, which is not a problem for me but may irritate those who are sensitive. I like how tea tree oil smells, plus there is a hint of lemon, and it does linger a little on my skin but will fade after about 20 minutes. I hate jar packaging, especially since this is certainly thin enough for a more hygienic pump. It’s a small jar, but very little is needed so it should last a good while.
I apply this every night and morning after cleansing and toning my skin. I NEVER use a moisturizer under makeup, but this has been working well for me.
I am glad I ordered this and will continue to purchase, provided my experience remains positive. I’ll post an update as more time passes.
