Sicily is – for luck of more eloquent description – a luxuriously creamy skin scent.
The top notes are fresh and sparkly with bergamot and the honeysuckle is there right off the bat. On me it doesn’t evolve much or really project but lasts a few good hours. The more pronounced notes are the aforementioned honeysuckle, musk and a bit of sandalwood. Of course I was intrigued by the banana note which I haven’t encountered much other that in some Escadas and Sira des Indes. It definitely is there and recognizable too but no way juvenile or ”out there”, just adds that playful creaminess.
The overall effect is kind of soapy, but not aquatic/soapy, more like oriental/soapy if that makes sense. Would recommend to those wear Allure EDT, Noa by Cacharel, Lacoste Pour Femme, Emozione by Salvadore Ferragamo or Narcisso Rodriguez Essence de Musk.

I wore Sicily when it was newly released in the early-mid 2000s (in my very early 20s) and I loved it! I wore it nearly everyday and, and before long, my bottle was empty. I always regretted not buying another one, and then it was sadly discontinued. Sicily is one of those scents I could not get out of my mind. Fast forward to 2015 and I was insistant on finding a legit bottle on ebay, which now I am so glad I have this in my collection again. Sicily is so unique; to me, it’s an unlikely combination of sweetness, fruit (banana type scent), with some soapiness, some heavier vanilla/amber and a dash of floral… the combination is just beautiful, although some people seem to have a love/hate feeling about it. I happen to LOVE it! Nothing else nowadays is like it, and I honestly feel that this scent is ageless. It’s definitely sophisticated and complex, but far from old lady, and it’s something every woman could enjoy.

Does it draw me in for a kiss, or a smack across the face? The weird juxtaposition of plush and sharp notes – soapy aldehydes and sweet cream, spikes and pillows – is rather fascinating and addictive to me. The beautifully shot, histrionic TV ad is the perfect accompaniment. I really like this strange seesaw.

This is a really strange one: strongly soapy with rice steam and vanilla. The effect is utterly indigestible… almost stomach turning but oddly compelling. I can’t say I like this, but it is interesting and makes a marvelous appetite suppressant.

One of my all time favorite perfumes – sophisticated and clean scent

what a beautiful aldehyde!!!
this is soft, powdery, sensual honeysuckle, that really reminds me of unripe banana skin….but it is so much more….Sicily is very cheerfull, I can’t really say that the commercial with gorgeous Monica pinpointed the perfume’s character, but it is extremely sexy in its own, sicilian way….this perfume is far from mainstream, boring, generic,or somewhat legere….
it has a joyful character due to the powderiness slightly resembling first lush and voluptious D&G (the one with the red cap)….but Sicily is far less dramatic and needy, and D&G is drama queen must have!!they are both amazingly feminine, beautiful, and creamy but without going in the gourmand category path….
Sillage is fantastic, it is very long living on me and it doesn’t change much….and that is great, because it means I can still sense it after 8 hrs!!!
nowadays it is a very hard perfume to find, but if you see it somewhere, give it a try…..honeysuckle honeyed gold, with shiny, sunny sprinkles of bergamot and aldehydes, heliotrope that gives a childlike sweeteness, sandalwood that gives it calm, sexy spine….
almost good enough to eat spread like a butter on a piece of toast<3
I love it, but I agree with the others-wear it in the cold weather, because it could be very nauseating during the summer or in hot ,humid weather...

My dad gave this to me as a gift once. It’s an okay perfume… I’d say sort of a summery scent because it reminds me of the beach for some reason. It’s citrusy and I guess a bit soapy like everyone else is saying. The scent is quite prominent as well… you can smell it on yourself. It’s not a perfume I’d typically wear though, since I tend to like more floral scents. I wouldn’t buy it again either because of how pricy it would be retail and, like I said, it’s not a scent I’d wear too often.

I don’t often get a scrubber but this was one on me. It has a lot of soap, some citrus (lost in soap), fruit, strangely boiled rice, maybe basmati and did I mention the soap? My wrists were practically foaming! I washed it off with more soap but it would not go. Finally it wore off – gave mine away. Great if you love banana soap.

Decidely odd. What are bananas doing with soap, bergamot, wood, and vanilla? This fragrance is up to no good.
The opening is not impossible — citric, leaves. Then the banana. Then someone washes the banana on a wooden counter. They’re eating ice cream. Why?
More wood. More ice cream. More green. Someone is cleaning again. Odd twinges and bits of notes, mostly floral. Then more banana.
I harbor the suspicion that somewhere out there, someone has the chemistry to smell devastatingly beautiful and sophisticated in this, that somehow there’s a way these notes will end well. Not on me, though.
