I have dry lips, exacerbated by the harsh South African weather, so I purchased this lip treatment in the hopes that it would help alleviate my chapping. It cost 140 ZAR // 14 USD, and while not as pricey as some high-end lip products, it wasn’t exactly cheap, either. This product didn’t work for me. My lips were as dry as ever after using it, and even after frequent and repeated application, they still felt dry and parched. It promises protection from extreme weather, but it doesn’t do much in moderate weather, either. I was definitely disappointed and will not waste my money on this again.

I got this in a sample set I bought, I don’t think I would have bought this if I saw it advertised on it’s own in the shop due to the price (£7.50)
I was impressed at well this lip treatment works on my dry cracked lips. It keeps them moist and seems to improve and heal the dryness as well (I like these type of products!).
PROs: Works well with dry lips and improves skin.
CONs: Weird taste at first, maybe I have got used to it?

I am a huge fan of this lip balm – it’s the only thing that will seem to work on my lips which is pretty much always dry, cracked and chapped. My lips stay moisturised for a few hours after application without feeling grossly slick/tacky like most balms feel on your lips. I agree the texture’s more waxy though that’s personally the way I like it.
The oval packaging & smell of the product is appealing to me too, definitely a slight lavender/lemongrass thing going on there but overall quite a neutral smell.
Agree with people that it is on the pricy side but I love this product so am happy to invest the money until I find something that works even better for a cheaper price.

I got this for free in a swag bag at some event. Took me forever to use it and now..I am in deep deep like. I would definitely buy this lip balm again. Love the container, kind of ovoid with a roll up. Smooth feeling, not as waxy as Chapstick. Barely a hint of fragrance, slightly herbally.

I have lots of dry excess skin on my lips. After applying Dermalogica’s Climate Control, the excess skin on my lips comes off completely within half an hour, and with ease. If I dont apply it, and try to get the excess skin off, my lips bleed. The first time I used it I was really shocked at how fast it worked. If I dont use it a few times every day, the dry skin comes back, but its easy fixed with another application. This product is only useful for those who have excess dry skin on their lips, and dry chapped lips. It also dosnt last. If you have lovely smooth lips and just want something to put on to protect against the cold weather, dont waste your money on this one.

LOVE this balm. It heals chapped lips and doesn’t clog pores around my lips.
BUT, like all Dermalogica products, depending on how old they are, they can STINK.
I have bought about 9 of these over the years, and only 2 have smelled really nice. 1 stank like plastic, sick, had to throw it out. The others were just ok.
The smell of Dermalogica products worries me every time I replenish. Skin Smoothing Cream moisturiser also has this problem. It can HONK depending on how old it is, how it was stored etc. Wish their quality control was better, cos I love their stuff.

I got this lip balm for free in a kit and I’m glad that I didn’t spend my money on it because this is a terrible lip balm. I don’t mind the smell of it and the packaging is great, but tastes weird. The balm doesn’t moisturize at all and after 5 minutes of wearing it I have very chapped lips even I didn’t have them chapped before application. And it’s quite expensive. Will not repurchase.

I’ve got this lip balm for free in try me kits several times now. I think this is a really bad balm, it does not moisturize my lips at all, it feels waxy on my lips and makes them even drier. It doesnt heal chapped lips. I dont usually care for how my skincare products smell but this feels not at all luxurious and smells like medicine.

An okay lip balm for – what I imagine (got mine from a sample kit) – a steep price. For me, it works fantastically. If I’ve got chapped lips, I use this once and they’re all better.
It does smell a bit funky though, and I find it too hard so it’s difficult to get enough product on your lips.
All in all a good lip balm, but I prefer my rosebud which is just as good, more versatile, smells heavenly and is much cheaper. Will not repurchase.

This product is so disappointing. It’s waxy, tastes weird, and burns my lips. Might as well be Chapstick. Nothing unique here. Period. Save yourself the money and apply it to a better Dermalogica product because there are great ones out there. But not here.
