I love Dermalogica’s Renewing Lip Treatment and couldn’t wait to give this one a try as it’s part of the ‘Age Smart’ range which has so far been a good investment (lip treatment and the eye cream). However I’m not sure if this is doing anything for me. It’s surprisingly like a face moisturizer/cream, not your typical lip balm consistency. It goes on strange, not really sinking in nor spreading, just the same way any facial moisturizer would if you applied it to your lips. By the morning (I’m on morning No.4 now) I can’t say I notice any difference to my lips, they are not plumper, more moisturized or less chapped. It doesn’t seem to do anything at all.
It is very silicone-based so I’m guessing if you have lip lines immediately above your upper lip then it’s probably going to temporarily help ‘fill up’ those due to the silicones, much the same way a primer helps fill in open pores. For that reason this might suit someone more mature or those who have lip lines due to smoking etc. For your average person in their 20’s-30s you wouldn’t need it for that purpose, only for applying to the lips themselves, and in that department this doesn’t seem to do anything, at least not for me. The applicator is great as is the packaging, but at $49 for just 0.34 oz it’s pretty expensive for what it is and does.

I bought this product to help with the fine lines I have around my mouth. It comes with a slanted metal tip applicator and I usually apply one pump to my lips at night. I’d been using the same tube for nearly a year so it isn’t a terrible value.
It has definitely made a difference in the appearance of my lips. I can now wear dark lipsticks without looking like “Whatever Happened to Baby Jane.”

This lip balm / treatment does miracles. It is to be applied at nighttime. It makes a huge difference when I have applied it or ‘forgot’ about it. The morning after using this lip balm, my lips are soft, somehow plumped up, and fine lines are kind of erased. The applicator is a nice bonus on top.
