This product is a dry texturizing spray that, unlike most products of its kind, has a shiny finish. I have used several texture products and all of them have given my hair a flat, matte finish. I definitely want that piecey separation and the grip and grit that texture sprays give but I hate that they all dull the shine. AG Texture Spray is different. It gives me all the things that other texture product do, but it imparts a nice natural looking sheen. This makes my hair color glow and makes my hair look healthy too. I’ve used Fructis Texture Tease, AG HIgh and Dry, Redken Wind Blown, Sexy Hair Spray Clay and Beyond the Zone Revamped, all of which gave my hair a matte finish. I like my hair to have a natural looking healthy luster and this AG spray definitely does that well. I do get the separation and grit that gives me that tousled, bedhead, slept-in look that’s so on trend right now, only my hair is also nice and shiny. Finally!! A product that can give me the best of the dry texture sprays coupled with the effects of a shine spray. I couldn’t be happier! I have looked high and low at Ulta and Sephora for something that could do precisely that. I finally found it at Ulta after having to return many texturizing sprays that didn’t work out for me. My favorites were AG High and Dry and Redken Wind Blown, both of which added tons of nice texture. However, both of these made my hair very flat looking, which ruined the whole effect for me. Who knew AG had another product that gives me the perfect combination of texture and shine? I’m glad I continued my search and that I finally landed on a product that couldn’t be more perfect. I’m sure there’s nothing else like it. I had almost given up hope and had pretty much decided that I needed the $42 Oribe Dry Texturizing Spray, which has received raved reviews on MUA’s hair board. I was so close to ordering it but decided to peruse the shelves at Ulta one last time. And WOW! I found the perfect thing!! I had resigned myself to using one of the flat texturizing sprays and then using a shine spray on top. However, the finish of these sprays is so matte that the shine spray had virtually no effect. The finish was so flat that it absorbed the shine product, rendering it completely ineffective. AG Texture Spray is really awesome and if you also aren’t a fan of a flat matte finish, then this is the perfect product for you too. I really like it and will make it a regular part of my routine. I definitely recommend it highly.
