I was surprised at how well this product worked on my face (combination). First, it made my pores look smaller. Second, it added moisture without oiliness. Third, it made my skin look radiant and healthy. If you have dry skin, apply this before moisturizer. If you have oily skin, you can get away with just this product and an oil-free gel.

I have dry sensitive skin after 2 pregnancies. I have tried pretty much everything available and nothing would leave my skin soft and moist feeling throughout the day. I use La Mer as my moisturizer as its the only one that won’t irritate my face. I got a sample of this the other day and was astonished at how soft my skin felt! I didn’t think anything would ever make my skin feel soft and young again! I just turned 36 and my youngest (twins) are almost 1.5 so my hormones aren’t really fluctuating anymore, but this has been a miracle for me. You can use it with any brand products and it will still make a world of difference.
I love love love this!

I’ve had this product sit around for a while since I got a free sample of it. I recently used it after noticing how my skin has become dry over a gradient, where my forehead would be oily but by the bottom of my face, it would be chapped. Since I was hoping that this product had some toning effect I thought of giving it a try.
I have to admit I am a believer now. My skin is overall more even although I’ve used it approximately for less than a week. I simply lather a thin layer of this when I come out of the shower with my fingers (to not waste the product). It is very light and it absorbs really quickly. It does have a moisturizing effect which is great for the summer! I skip my usual moisturizer before it gets too heavy (plus I forget most of the time). It has a nice light fragrance to it.
The packaging looks pretty but it’s not very functional. It’s quite hard to get out of the hard plastic bottle and it takes up room.
Although the site does say it’s for women “experiencing hormonal changes” I don’t think that really applies to a person in her early 20s, yet this product still gives great results.
Overall, I would buy this product again. My skin has gotten a lot smoother, softer, more even. Strangely enough, I have noticed my pores minimizing… though that’s not advertised on the site and my pores had been a long concern for me.

My skin went from oily to dry/flaky/irritated and itchy this year so I had to change up my cleansers and treatment routine.
Background: I was using Shiseido Pureness Deep Cleansing Foam for 12 years followed by MD Skincare OIl Free Hydrating Moisturizer. I never used a toner or softener ever before 2 weeks ago.
I went to Bloomingdales and spoke with the SA for an hour about my skin changes over the past year and as part of a new regimen, she suggested I try the Future Solution Extra Rich Cleansing Foam followed by the Benefiance NutriPerfect Pro-Fortifying Softener.
The Future Solution line is relatively new for Shiseido and I hadn’t tried any of that line (much higher pricepoint as well).
The Benefiance NutriPerfect Pro-Fortifying Softener (which Shiseido reiterates over and over is NOT a toner) it’s a softener not a gimmick to sell you more products–it actually contributes to how much softer your skin feels post-cleansing and helps balance out the PH so you’re not feeling “stripped” of natural oils.
I have been using this for 2 weeks and I see a difference after I wash my face. I apply 3 pumps onto the Shiseido cotton (which is ammmmmazing) and pay all over my face. This DOES help even out the tone and also adds additional moisture to my face and calms down flaky skin. Its very creamy in texture and not like the other softeners that Shiseido carries which are more liquidy in nature.
The official product description Shiseido gives is as follows:
A skin-fortifying softener with a maximum infusion of nutrients for maturing skin, specially formulated to restore resilience, firmness and suppleness. New Nutrition Infusing Technology instantly delivers generous amounts of Carnosine DP, a signature ingredient which restores lost cell vitality and boosts skin’s defense against free radicals, into the skin. Remarkably enhances the skin’s reception for the next step of moisturizer. Provides the pure nutrition that maturing skin needs as hormonal changes challenge its strength and elasticity.
While I’m not “hormonal” or going through menopause i still like the Benefiance line a LOT- always have even since I was 22. I’ll still figuring out if the softener is worth the $58 pricepoint (b/c I’ve alreday used 80% of the full sized bottle (5oz). But i do like it so far. I follow this up with the Bio Performance Corrective Serum which off topic— has been the most wonderful addition to my regimen so far.
Great packaging, and great smell. definitely buy the Shisedo cotton, BTW it makes a huge difference and it’s ultra soft.
