This is only tropical in the sense that it smells like heavy sunscreen from my youth–mid to late 80’s, or that sunless self tanner that we’ve all tried. That’s not a bad thing, it was a nice bit of nostalgia. I do get some ginger, although not much. A ton of basil and lily though, and too much lily and we’ve got a funeral home masquerading as a saucy tart on the beach. The coconut smooths it out a bit but not enough to make this overly likable for me. I’m only thankful that it’s not overly strong or tenacious—6 hours and it’s faded enough that it’s not going to give me a headache. There is just too much going on here and I don’t need or want to smell like self tanner and basil. I am fully aware this is mostly my chemistry, as there are so many that love this one.

Wow is this an expensive fragrance! I threw this in my purse for a weekend trip and it leaked out a bit… I was horrified! Scent is amazing. A cozy fragrance, warm, creamy with a bit of coconut that reveals itself a few hours into your wear. This for special occasions because it is very expensive. It’s definitely a man magnet though… Hubby gets super close and cuddly when I’m wearing this. Gorgeous, nothing else out there this scent

I should start by saying that Yosh is a natural perfume: it doesn’t have alcohol or aroma chemicals in it & it will smell different on every person! It’s a bad idea to buy this kind of perfume without testing it first. Just put tiny amount (it is very strong!!!) on your pulse points and wear it through out the day, notice how it transitions. I love Ginger Ciao! I’ve been wearing it for a while. I get lots of compliments. It’s very unique and sophisticated. It smells very warm & sweet on my skin with black coconut dominating the composition. It is pricy, but lasts forever. I currently use 3 fragrances from Yosh: Ginger Ciao,Omniscent and Sottile. I also met Yosh in person. She is very lovely and down to earth. What makes her perfumes great is her passion for her craft!

I love this fragrance and was glad to find a nice ginger-based scent that didn’t seem like yet another version of the Origins Ginger line. It’s a heavier incense on my skin so I can only wear it in cooler weather. That said, at Yosh prices, I don’t quite love it enough that I’d replace the bottle when it runs out. I

This is so gorgeous. This takes me to the tropics without any kitsche. The coconut and basil are perfectly blended into this, so if you fear either of those notes like I do, don’t worry. The ginger is not harsh. It’s a wonderful blend of ginger and floral notes. I love it. I would never buy it, however, because of the price. If you love the tropics, however, and can afford a larger decant or bottle, you must sample this. Like I said, gorgeous.

Intrigued by the Yosh-hype, and already deeply disappointed by Stargazer, I approached Ginger Ciao with interested caution. What a beauty! I loved it, even though aromatherapy grade ginger oil often gives me that pit of the stomach, hollow nausea. This seems beautifully balanced with no off-key notes, making me feel warm, comforted and almost edible. I would treat myself to this for my birthday or some other special occasion when I don’t need to justify the expenditure.

Weird and unpleasant. The notes don’t blend together well at all.

I’ve heard so many wonderful things about this perfumer, that I decided to try Ginger Ciao because it was recommended to me. Suffice to say, this starts off very green and the ginger is quite strong. The oil slowly penetrates into your skin and it’s a nice texture, but over time the scent begins to change into a dark coconut and sweet again with the ginger and morphs into a sharp basil. This scent has to be one of the most unusual scents out there and a little goes a long way. The first few minutes, it was too strong, then twenty minutes later, I began to enjoy it, but then after thrity minutes, it went horribly wrong and began smelling rancid on my skin.
Oh how I wanted to love this fragrance.

Smells ok. But slightly tinged with nauseating undertones. I have a vial of Green Coconut by DSH that smells a lot like this, kind of smells corn-y if I can say that (not corny ha ha, popcorny). I am finding most Yosh scents to be overrated. If you can remove yourself from the exclusivity of it all, you might find the same thing.

This is the first scent I’ve tried from Yosh, and it smells absolutely delicious – not too sweet, though I do get the coconut accord, and wonderfully spicy. However, it completely disappeared from my skin after an hour or so every time I’ve tried it. No matter how much I love the scent, I won’t buy it…I can’t justify spending that much on a bottle if it doesn’t stay for a while. SO glad that Luckyscent has samples!
