OMG!! My favourite fragrance ever, floral Oriental, mesmerising and sexy. I have approx 30 bottles of perfume including all Chanel fragrances this is the prettiest by far. Could last longer on skin though.

I love amber in perfumery, so this was a no brainer for me. The top notes got me.
However the dry down of this is more a sandalwood scent than anything to my nose. It also doesn’t last as long as it should even layered with the body oil.
Lately I’ve been reaching for the Amber & Patchouli Cologne intense by far more than this one. I find it more interesting and garners a lot more compliments than this. I feel the Dark Amber and Gingerlily is a bit overhyped. If you are looking for something that is actually ‘DARK’ in ambery scent, try the Amber & Patchouli instead.

Addictive. Dark but bizarrely fresh at the same time. A spicy ginger that is not too gourmand , but not too botanical either, sitting right in between those two extremes of interpretation in the note. Milky without being at all sour or too sweet and headache inducing. The amber here is thankfully very transparent (Ambers though warm and spicy often get too syrupy on me), but this is more of an open sweetness. Like thinned out honey butter. I this works fantastically on a woman, but I could see it being a yummy men’s fragrance too for something dark and sweet and not too dense. Also the lily here is very soft and fresh. Not at all too strong of a white floral and not the least bit powdery. Just enough to add some lightness to this dark and hollow comforting amber-ginger composition. Projection is one of the best I’ve tried from Jo Malone and lasting power is great on me. Love the Cologne intenses best of all, but their downfall is inevitably the price. And the fact they don’t come in smaller 1 oz/50 ml bottles like their regular line does. This needs to change. Even if I would still have to pay a little more for a small size in these versus the same size of those in the regular line (these ingredients are generally rarer and/or more intense or stronger and more exotic). This and Velvet Rose and Oud are my faves from the whole Jo Malone house. Regulars and Intenses combined.

This is without doubt my favourite scent ever! It’s hard to describe the delicious warming spicy scent so if you haven’t – go into JM and try it on! It’s more of a winter fragrance. I find I get sick of scents easily and give them away or sell them on ebay by the time they’re half full BUT I know I’ll be repurchasing this again and again (sadly for my wallet!) The price is always going to be a negative with JM and (in the UK anyway) there’s never a sale on, I suppose because they just don’t need to. Anyway – it’s worth it!

I adore this scent, it lasts longer on me if I layer it with other things like dry body oil or body cream.
I dont know how long it will be before I repurchace or even have it on a gift list. But I love it…Its a dry spicy scent with masculine tones.

This cologne is so luxurious it really is my favourite scent in the world – every single time I have it on I get asked what it is. It lasts all day without being too strong and over powering. I use this for special occasions and it really does make me feel special. The over all ‘Jo Malone experience’ when buying this product was amazing. The lady asked me what type of scent I liked to wear and said this would be perfect – she was completely right. Two years later and I still love it as much as I did when I first smelt it x

Oh this is a tough one. Quite frankly I would walk to the ends of the earth for this scent. The minute I smelled it for the first time I was 10 years old again. I still haven’t worked out of it smells like my grandmothers or a favoured relative I spent a lot of time with; either way it was very comforting. I would wear it 24/7 if I could. It’s not a summer perfume but if you want something for the Autumn or Winter, go for it.
HOWEVER (you knew this was coming didn’t you), as is now oh so common with Jo Malone, it doesn’t last. It is almost £90 which is eye wateringly expensive for something that you can only smell on yourself for an hour at most. I have been asked by many people what perfume I’m wearing and I look at them in shock. Not because they asked but because they can smell it at all. I know it’s said that if you can smell your own perfume you’re wearing too much but sod that, I want to smell my £90 on me and I don’t wear perfume for others. I wear it for me so i can get a waf during the day and feel happy.
The vile Lime Basil and Mandarin I tried 4 years ago I’m pretty sure is still on my clothes after that first and only spray, 4 years ago. Why can’t this one do the same. £90 for a very poor quality Eau De Toilette just isn’t on. I said in the options section that i would buy this perfume again BUT only when Jo Malone start making it worth the £90. I don’t expect Chanel or L’Artisan strength but anything that doesn’t feel like the spray of the bottle equates the sound of money being flushed down the toilet would be good.
The packaging is bulky. The large bottle is too angled to be comfortable to hold.Again, for my £90 I want something I don’t need 2 hands to operate.
Alas I used to be a big Jo Malone fan but under the relatively new control of Estee Lauder it has become a weak, unimpressive brand.

Another from my long-neglected sample box. This is woody-incensy on me, with a bit of a sombre Oriental flowery note on top. I could definitely live without the flowery note, but as incense perfumes go (and I’ve tried a lot recently) this is actually one of the better ones on my skin.
I prefer my scents darker, drier, and less femme, but I’m not displeased with this revisit.

I *love* Jo Malone. I own 10+ of her fragrances. I love them alone and in combination. I think I have issues.. but I digress.
I bought this fragrance a few years ago. As usual I went to buy another small bottle in the regular line (forget what it was at the time) and the SA talked me into picking up this, which was a limited edition at the time.
I agree that when the LE’s come out you should pick them up. Worse comes to worse they all go up in value. So it’s not really a losing situation.
But I didn’t like this in the store.. which doesn’t mean much with her line. I’ve bought many I wasn’t in love with that became my favorites when I got home.
Anyway.. this smells like straight up pencil shavings on me. That’s it. I don’t have the most sophisticated nose but I usually can pick out the top notes at least. But nope, straight up pencil shavings.
I don’t know if I got a bad bottle or not because of all these lovely reviews but it’s my least favorite Jo Malone.
My SA loves me though and I was telling her about it when I picked up a new bottle of one of my favs (nectarine blossom and honey) and she said I could bring it in and she’d replace it with something else. So I love the company but this scent. blech.

This is my favorite JM scent…subtle and calming. A co-worker always says my office smells like a florist. It has been reissued and I just placed an order for it at the JM website. I just wish that it lasted a little longer. Since JM fragrances tend to be pricey you would think they’d have a little more staying power.
