This product looked interesting – it changes color to give you a custom lip tint, how geeky! – but at least on my skin, there’s not enough of the skin-ph reactive dye to do much more than tinge the gloss pink.
After I bought this one and was a bit disappointed, I swatched Smashboxes O-Gloss and Lipstick Queen’s Frog Prince. Both were subtle pinks, but there was a stronger color change.
The Napoleon version doesn’t seem to have as much of the Red 27 color changing pigment as other brands. If you’re curious, swatch these products on your wrist first.
The gloss itself is good at keeping my lips hydrated and
smells like vanilla candy, which is why I gave it three lippies. If, like me, you need some pigment in your lip products so you don’t look like a zombie, this version isn’t for you.
