I am on a medication that has been wreaking havoc on my face. I never before had an issue with cystic acne… just the occasional angry zits that would calm by alternating a BP spot treatment at night and ELF’s zit zapper with SA during the day. When this wasn’t touching my new acne issue, I decided to try the sample I had of this product. I respond well to Queen Helenes Mint Julep Mask, so I hoped sulphur could do what BP and SA weren’t able to. I used only a tiny bit and just on the problem areas. I woke up the next morning to the deflated and now painless remnants of cysts and zits. It didn’t work a miracle, but the difference was pretty amazing. The smell isn’t great, but it’s how I know the sulphur is still there, helpin’ a sister out. It is drying, so much so that I was applying moisturizer 3x a day (my skin likes cerave PM). I will gladly moisturize more in exchange for having clearer skin again. If you can get your hands on a sample, I’d recommend trying this. I have been using this product for a few weeks now and haven’t finished the sample. I do plan on buying a full size. (Also, I stored it in the fridge to keep the open sample fresh.) Good luck.

Beautypedia rates this low because it has sulfur, which is drying. But drying is what you want when you have a pimple that won’t go away! Sulfur works better for me than sa or bp, and this works great. Just be judicious in applying to spots only, and maybe not every day. You can use a moisturizer if it gets too dry.

This is an on the spot treatment. Reading other reviews, I don’t think everyone gets that this is not to treat an area of breakouts, though it may help. As I’ve used topical sulfur creams that were meant for the entire face before. Sulfur will dry your skin out like mad. If you have acne prone skin, though, it will clear your acne like crazy, but the kind you get for the entire face is a mellow version that you can get from the dermatologist. On oily and normal skin, sulfur is the equivalent to dead sea mud on your face, and it will make your skin smooth, shiny, healthy and etc.
However, this one is meant to make swellings go down. This should not be put all over a persons face, or on a large area. It’s heavy duty. It will make your skin shed and irritate your skin. It’s not meant for black heads and your average white head, but this is for real pimples or cystic pimples. White heads are the white blood cells, puss, etc. No point in putting sulfur treatment to a white head, it’s pointless. Unless the white or black head has a swelling under it, this product might not help.
So that said, anyone looking for on the spot treatment, this is good. For me, swellings go down in a matter of hours. Others, maybe a day or so. This stuff works. Don’t pay attention to most of the neg reviews; they aren’t using it right.
Why else do you think it comes in such a small size? Because it’s not meant to be applied all over the face.

this is a horrible product. after applying it on my spots for 5 days, the entire patch of skin on my forehead became dry and flaky like with the testure of a pastry puff. I have combination skin and my forehead has never been this dry. I’ve put lots of moisturizer and its been 2 days and some parts are still peeling. if you are wondering whether to get this product or not, don’t. if you have already bought this product, use a very very tiny amount.

I used this for about two weeks steadily for some blocked pores/white heads on my chin – which was a HUGE mistake! Even though I applied moisturizer over the cream every time I used it, my skin became terribly dry, flaky, and red. My skin also sprouted terrible and painful cystic acne in the places that I applied the cream. Maybe I would have had better results if I had not used it every day? However, I’m not willing to risk re-trying this. I went back to my Eminence Herbal Spot serum, and my skin has calmed down, thank goodness!!

I received a sample of this product in a catalog from the company, and I found it to be highly effective at making a breakout disappear. I immediately bought the full size product online. It works like a miracle (yes, I said miracle) at spot treating and keeping a pimple from surfacing. It’s also very gente (unlike most acne treatments that dry out the entire area around a breakout). Highly recommend! 🙂

This is great for me. I started breaking out in cystic acne and was desperate to get some sort of spot on cream, and I found this! Pimples became much much smaller and less redder overnight. The only con is that you can actuallly sniff a bit of the sulphur smell occasionally. But that doesn’t affect me much.

it did nothing and is difficult to apply because it has a thick consistency so you have to keep rubbing at it until the white cream disappears. a waste of money.

IMO-
Pros: the packaging is good.
Cons: I couldn’t stomach the smell! I can tolorate certain things for stuff that works, but this…was the WORST!

Contains 3% sulfur in a lotion base. This did absolutely nothing for my combination skin prone to cystic acne.
