Didn’t irritate my skin and felt good to use. The problem was that for something that was supposed to help with acne, it just didn’t work. I was using it as an adjunct to prescription products and it still broke me out. I know the Avene products were the issue because they were the only thing different that I used. I purchased it for $20 USD so I was pretty disappointed.

My dermatologist recommended me this cleanser since I was on topical acne treatment. I loved how the cleanser was creamy, smelled nice and made my skin soft. The only problem was that the day after I began using this, small whiteheads began to appear. I was persistant in using this cleanser since it was expensive. I used this cleanser for 2 weeks until I just gave up; it was making my acne worse. I returned this product and purchased the Avene Cleanance Soapless Gel Cleanser.

Gentle cream that cleanses the face without drying and without generating acne. The only thing is I need to use a big amount every time. A little bit is not enough.

This is such a great cleansing cream ! Does amazing job at removing the heaviest make up and never made me break out ! I have oily acne-prone skin and I’m really happy to have found my perfect cleanser. Just a tiny bit is needed, and remove even waterproof mascara.
I used to use la roche posay toleriane dermo-cleanser which is super gentle cleanser, but works poorly when it comes to remove make up.
Would repurchase again.

I got this on recommandation by my dermatologist. I have combination skin with an oily t-zone which can get break-outs, and dry cheeks with very small milia. I used to use the green cleansing gel for acne skin from Avene when I was a teenager and got great results from it. I’m very anxious to see what this cleansing cream will do for my skin now. I only used it the first time today and was surprised with the pleasant comfortable feeling it gave during and after cleansing my face. It didn’t leave my skin dry but very moisturising instead. So far I’m happy with it.

This product iritated my skin and made it dry and flaky. Too many ingredients. I won’t repurchase.

A great, simple product that is complementary to my anti-acne treatment.
Some backstory: I am EXTREMELY low maintenance, and was blessed with perfect skin with no effort for 21 years. And I mean low maintenance to the point where a splash of water during my daily shower and some jojoba oil at night was my “skin care routine” for YEARS! Unfortunately, a month after turning 22 my forehead exploded with cystic acne, whiteheads, and little bumps. It was uncomfortable and I felt unprepared, so I booked it to a dermatologist who prescribed antibiotics and retin-a, along with a push to use a gentle cleanser and neutral moisturizer.
Within a week of treatment my skin was very dry and tight, and I was moisturizing 2x a day with heavy facial cream (Vanicream) but I still felt I was not doing enough to ensure my skin was fully hydrated!
I found Avene, a favorite brand in France, and their Clean-Ac Cleansing Cream seemed to be the perfect product! I’ve been using it for over a month now and am very pleased. The bottle is very large, and I only ever use a pea sized amount of product. I could see this lasting a very long time. After wetting my face in the shower I apply a pea sized amount to my forehead and massage for ~15 seconds, before quickly rubbing the rest of my face which is not affected by acne and rinsing off with cool water.
As others have mentioned, it is not a foaming cleanser, which I appreciate, as sodium laureth sulfate is not widely seen as the safest chemical agent in many products. The smell is very light, but is not a fragrance, rather it is the smell of the cleansing ingredients and hydrators.
I have found that after nightly use, my skin is in fact less tight, and after rinsing and drying the cleanser my skin is more receptive to my application of the retin-a treatment!

I started using this product, after my 5month Roaccutane treatment. My skin, once very oily, has become dry and sensitive and my dermatologist recommended this. I am quite pleased with it, it has a light soft texture, kind of milky, and very very gentle on my skin. I have been using it for nearly 2 years.
– But not reccomend it for people doing daily heavy make up, I am not sure that it will clean it all away. I am not a foundation fan, but use little compact powder for a general color correction, and it cleans my make up totally.

Just finished my bottle and I have to say this is an effective cleanser for my extremely oily skin. I was worried that with the colder and drier weather that this might be harsh on my skin, but I was wrong. It’s gentle and yet it thoroughly cleanses my oily skin. The scent is subtle and it’s more of a milk consistency than cream.
