If a product comes with a hefty price tag, I expect the WOW factor for my curls and waves. There was none of that. In fact, I don’t know why I bother with shampoos and conditioners designed for curls when I get the same result from “non-curly” haircare. IMO, I find the formula together with the shampoo leaves me with a lot of build up and residue to the point where i would need to shampoo with another shampoo first to get rid of whatever crap was left on my scalp and strands from the last wash, and then proceed to use the redken shampoo + conditioner.

First time user of this and the Curvaecous shampoo.
It works well as wash out or leave in conditioner. My hair feels soft after washing and the curls/waves are in place
I prefer this to the shampoo and would buy as a standalone product to use with another shampoo
The design of this and the shampoo bottle is annoying – hard to tell which is which, when you’re in the shower. Other brands I use, have different coloured caps to differentiate between shampoo and conditioner. They need to be placed upside down for the product to dispense easily.

Have repurchased again and again and have somehow neglected to review this. Totally a godsend for my long, thick, coarse, dry, unmanageable hair! I’m not even curly and it still works as both a leave-in and a rinse-out conditioner. Where once there was frizz, there now is smoothness! I have yet to find a better conditioner for days when I just HAVE to shampoo – co-washing gives me similar results, but some days I’ve just got to feel cleaner, especially when it’s hot out. Enter this conditioner! The matching shampoo is also great, but not necessary for the conditioner to work like a charm.
As a bonus, it does enhance curl — even my heavy hair can get a decent, defined loose wave going if I use this stuff, dry it about 7/8ths of the way, and put my hair in a bun. It lasts most of the day without much more product. I do use a hair oil to smooth things out, as my hair gets pretty big fast and the conditioner alone isn’t quiiiiite enough to weigh it down for an entire day.
The only con — I use a ton of this and they don’t make bottles big enough to support my habit for longer than maybe 3 months. I go through the conditioner at about twice the rate as the shampoo. But the jumbo bottle is big enough to where I feel I’m getting my money’s worth. I only wash my hair about once a week in winter and twice a week in summer (or if I’m using only conditioner; I generally only co-wash in wintertime when there’s no chance of me getting sweaty). I just have a lot of hair and like to do a pretty thorough conditioning treatment, especially after I use a sulfate shampoo. If you don’t absolutely soak your hair in conditioner like I do then you’ll get a lot more bang for your buck.

Awful!
Bought this at Marshall’s for $10 so luckily I didn’t pay full price for it. Yes, its thick and smells decent but it doesn’t really detangle and its a chore to spread it evenly throughout your hair. The worst part is that it made my hair super greasy, its really hard to rinse out well.
Don’t buy!

Do not buy.
Run the other way.
This stuff comes in a tiny bottle and the price is $$.
Yes it conditions your hair, but in a way that feels more like you couldn’t rinse your hair our properly because the water got turned off.
I bought this in a set with the shampoo and that’s gross too.
YUCK. DO NOT BUY.

I bought a couple of small travel tubes of this to try it out. So far, it is decent. It has a strong, coconut like smell with an underlying note I cannot figure out but it smells fine to me. It has a creamy yogurt like consistency and it gives good slip when I am rinsing it out my hair. The two things I can complain about is the fact that this can be light in terms of conditioning for me and the times I have used too much my hair was a bit flyaway so there is a learning curve with this conditioner. It is hydrating enough but can build up over time. I do like this as a occasional leave-in and I do like the matching shampoo a bit more than this. It does soften as a conditioner and it does detangle well. It does have to be rinsed out well so if you are interested in this, keep that in mind. You might have to clarify if you use this daily.
