i have the shade graphite, i believe its called, a dark charcoal grey with some shine, not matte but i love glitter eyeliner,
eyeliner thats matte and black is too harsh for me.
anyways this product i had for about 2 years and it hasn’t dried out, which is hella amazing, i also store it upside down, that probably helps.
its a preety big pot of eyeliner gel.
a lot of gel eyeliners do not stay on me, loreal’s infallible gel that tati loves smeared, even with all the prep and setting, and maybellines eyestudio is too drying, kinda tugs.
this gel, is similar in texture and consistency to the loreal one but this actually stays on my lashline.

This deserves 10 lippies. With gel eyeliners, I’ve found that higher end brands generally do not perform any better than drugstore. Still, something about this one caught my eye. The anti-aging marketing thing might have grabbed me (I’m turning 40 next year, black eyeliner is the only makeup I wear daily so if there is even a chance it has any anti aging properties – I’m in).
This glides on as a perfect opaque black. It is rich and creamy but stays where you put it. If you mess up, you can just wipe with your finger to smudge the line before it sets. I find that I don’t have to work very hard at all to get this to look perfect. Then once it is on, I don’t have to check on it throughout the day, it just stays. It is gentle on the eyes – I am never red or irritated after using it.
Most of the other gels I have tried have some flaw – some disappear in spots over the course of the day, or they sting my eyes a bit, ball up in the corner of the eye, or take some working with to get it to look right. But I have no complaints with this one. I have had this for several weeks, so not enough time to say if the jar dries out too quickly. It is Fall/Winter. I will update if this doesn’t hold up as well in summer.
Edit: ok, summer is here and unfortunately, this isn’t not holding up for me. Im getting a lot of smeared black soot under my eyes. This was so perfect in the cooler months that I won’t take the rating down too much, but this is unusable for me for Spring/Summer. In all fairness, I do have very oily eyelids and on top of it I use oil to cleanse and remove makeup, so very few liners perform well for me under those conditions. I switched to Mac Liquidlast and that is working very well no matter the temp or oil content around my eye 🙂

This eyeliner has been one of the best finds of 2016 for me. I line my eyes daily and find that this is the first eyeliner I have used that does not fade throughout the day. On my waterline, it stays put with very minor fading after 8 hours. As with all IT Cosmetic items, this eyeliner claimed to provide a long lasting, pigmented color while also providing anti-aging and lash enhancing benefits. I tested this eyeliner on my waterline and I found it’s waterproof claims also lived up to its promise. The color Black is intensely black and once applied- goes on creamy and dries quickly. My previous waterline liner was Bobbi Brown Gel liner, which I found very disappointing in terms of longevity. This is my new HG waterline liner.

This is the worst eyeliner I have ever purchased in my entire life!! It has been exactly 3 months since I purchased this product directly from the company and I have used it only 2-3 times. I made sure to tighten the cap well because of the reviews that say the product dries out. Well, my product isn’t just dried out…it is so dry that the product has cracked in the middle!!
I had read reviews that said it dries out quickly but I didn’t believe it. I assumed the reviewers lived in dry climates. I’m surprised all the MUA reviews are positive and no one has mentioned this previously. If you do an online search, you will see that many bloggers have noted this product dries out quickly.
I called the company to ask for advice on what to do and they were not sympathetic at all. They told me the expected life of the product is 3-6 months, so this means 3 months. They should put a note on their product page that says this product must be used in 3 months. Then, I think very few people would buy it.
The couple of times I did use it, it went on smoothly. But, it wasn’t any more or less smudge-y than Bobbi Brown’s gel liner which definitely didn’t dry out for a couple of years. I tried this liner specifically because I was looking for something no smudge and this is NOT it. I guess this is what I deserve for purchasing from a company that doesn’t stand behind their products. Their return policy is 30 days only, whereas companies like Bobbi Brown and MAC promise satisfaction and don’t put a time limit on returns. This limited return policy should’ve been a big red flag for me and I shouldn’t have purchased from this company.

WOW,,,just WOW. I purchase this based on a blog post by one of my favorite bloggers who raved about this and then came here and checked the reviews. Then I waited for my opportunity. When I saw a 4 easy pay option on QVC I ordered this without hesitating. I have been through my share of eyeliner in 52 years and I can honestly say that this product really astonished me. I love Revlon Colorstay and UD 24/7, but this doesn’t budge, smudge, smear, run, and the color is Gor-gee-us! A soft brown/taupe that you definitely know is there, but does not look harsh or too dark. This formula glides on beautifully and it takes very little product to get a nice line of color. It sets up in no time at all, so you don’t have a lot of time to play or smudge, if that is your thing. Also, I purchased this with the accompanying liner brush, which I find, works well, I like the liner brush end, not the slightly deckled brush that is supposed to place in between your lashes. Contained in the brush packaging was a very helpful card with 10 different eyeliner looks, which was nice.
Also, I wipe my brush on a paper towel after us to avoid build up of product. My cost w/ brush was approximately $30, but I feel this product will last for quite some time, even with everyday use.

Rare is it I give a 2 or less star review, but this eyeliner dried out faster than any other gel liner I’ve ever used. It’s possible it was defective, but the reviews point to this being a common problem with this liner.
Now, this product worked amazingly for the first week. It was creamy, the blackest BLACK gel liner I’ve used, and there was no tugging. After the first week, despite screwing the lid on tightly, it began drying, cracked down the middle, and application became painful and I had to throw it away. This is not a cheap liner and I expected much better due to the mostly positive reviews. This liner was a disappointment.

HOLY GRAIL! THIS IS THE ONLY LINER THAT DOES NOT SMEAR ON ME!!!! LOVE, LOVE, LOVE!!
EDIT: While I still only use this eyeliner and it is the longest wearing I have found that will stay on my watery, oil, sensitive eyes, it does dry out very quickly. I dries out faster than any other gel liner that I have come across to date. It does smudge a little but nothing compared to other liners. I have this in Midnight Navy.

Wow. This eyeliner is seriously no joke. I swatched some on the back of my hand at the makeup store, and was pleased with the dark, creamy matte qualities of it, so I bought it. I went home with the black mark on my hand, figuring it would dissipate- it didn’t. After a few hours of it being just as stark as it was when I first applied it, I decided to wash it off with dish soap. THREE times after scrubbing it with dish soap, and it’s STILL on my hand from yesterday. Whether or not that’s a good thing depends on how serious you are about your eyeliner. This morning I put it on my eyes (where it’s supposed to go) and was very happy with how little I needed to get a saturated, matte, black line. It’s not streaky or shiny or chalky, like even some high end products can be. And, no fall out so far! Super happy
Update: once you get this on, like I said, it’s awesome. But GETTING it on has proven to be way more tricky than eyeliner should have to be. I have gone through four different brushes trying to find one that works, and none of them (even that weird angled one in the picture) can do it. Because this is so thick, it’s hard to get it to move without skipping, and it creates a lot of build up on the tool that can’t be broken down with baby oil or alcohol. So your brush ends up coated in product, and it’s all chunky, and then you try to get more, and you get this thick ball of liner and it’s like performing surgery trying to make a smooth line. A little more than I’m ready to tackle in the morning, sadly.

Back in the Estee Lauder companies’ cruelty-free days, I used MAC Fluidline and Bobbi Brown Ink gel eyeliners, and Liner Love is FAR superior to either of those products, in my opinion.
Liner Love is highly pigmented and super smooth, with a total lack of waxiness that makes it an absolute pleasure to apply – as marketed, it truly does glide on. And, rather astoundingly, I can apply it to my *bare, unprimed* uber-oily eyelids, and it Stays. Put. In fact, I think it actually applies and wears best when I don’t use a primer, which is “revelation” territory for me. Typically, products that “wear like steel” on others wear more like Jello on my grease-pit skin.
I bought my first Liner Love in “Graphite,” which is a matte deep neutral gray that can probably pass as a soft black on most skin tones. I use a very fine eyeliner brush, like the MAC 210 or similar, to apply Liner Love very close to my upper lash line, and it looks defined but not harsh, and looks just-put-on for hours. I haven’t had my Liner Love for long, so I don’t know how quickly (or not) it will dry out the little glass pot feels sturdy and tight, so I’m optimistic.
I’ve already ordered my second Liner Love in “Rich Plum,” and Espresso and Black are far from out of the question.
I wish Liner Love weren’t so expensive (~ $24), but it’s worth it, to me.
