I really love this. I am trying to get away from wearing a tint / foundation on my skin and just stick to my skincare + blush but still needed a quality sunscreen. This is a little thick, but I usually pump out what I need and spread across all my fingers and then pat on my face in a few areas and then go around to rub it in. I agree that it does take a little work but this method I’ve found is better so you don’t get too much in one area.
the finish is beautiful and I actually never see the sparkle finish on my face that can be noticeable on your hand in some lighting.the result is a nice look that isn’t too glossy or oily. can be a little white on, so work it in as I mentioned above and it will not be so difficult if your skin is properly hydrated before application.

I really like a lot of products from the Biossance brand, which uses plant derived squalane in many of their products. When Biossance introduced their Squalane + Mineral Sunscreen I purchased it immediately. I really like the fact that it is SPF 45. It is hard to find a good sunscreen over an SPF of 30. I also tend to like mineral or physical sunscreens because they seem to irritate my sensitive skin much less than some of the chemical sunscreens. The Biossance sunscreen is pretty thick and you really have to spend a little time making sure to smooth it on in an even layer. This also has a little bit more of a white cast than some of the other sunscreens I have tried. They have added a very very light touch of shimmer in this sunscreen which helps to camoflauge the white cast.
This is great for dry skin because it has some hydrating ingredients in this such as the squalane. They added a couple of fragrance ingredients in this- bitter orange and ginger- which are near the end of the ingredient list so they aren’t really bothersome to my sensitive skin. I’ll probably use this more on summer days when I am going to be outside and need the higher SPF of 45. My video review can be seen here: 4

What the website claims:
“A clean, lightweight and non-greasy daily mineral facial sunscreen that protects skin from UVA/ UVB and infrared rays, while defending against environmental stressors. Plus, it makes the perfect primer for easy makeup application.”
My experience:
My skin is normal/dry and I’m looking for new options for my daily wear sunscreen and Biossance’s new mineral sunscreen promised to hydrate, protect, and wear like a primer. BULL. Okay, it hydrates. But this is not lightweight or non-greasy; it sits atop my skin like a sticky very white film that never sinks in. Yesterday I tried this under makeup, minimizing my moisturizer to accommodate this rich sunscreen. Whatever. I might as well have used drugstore Blue Lizard because this white mess caused my favorite foundation to look thick and cakey on my skin. And then after lunch I noticed that my blush and concealer disappeared and my foundation separated. This never happens to me with my other favorite sunscreens (Dr. Jart+ Every Sun Day UV Sunscreen Broad Spectrum SPF 50 is my current n/d skin favorite).
This sunscreen has no tint so the visible white cast remains after it supposedly sinks in.
Not ideal for daily wear without makeup.
