I have been using this on/off for around a year. It is one of the least cosmetically elegant formulas I have tried due to the tacky layer it creates on the skin. It feels like silicone and grease at the same time and doesn’t wear well under makeup. I feel I gave it many chances and in the end I just found it impossible to use this and not break out or have some kind of reaction. For the price, it was not as effective or pleasant as I needed it to be.

While feeling a bit oily, it absorbs very well with no residue and no piling. I have had some strong skin reactions with vit C before, but not with this (although my skin does heat up slightly upon application). I use it daily, in the morning, after NIOD CAIS and MMHC, but it is the C25 which does seems to help brightening my skin, I am quite happy with it.
Edit: I am even happier since using this together with a couple of drops of The Ordinary Resveratrol 3% + Ferulic Acid 3%!

In February I introduced Vitamin C into my routine in the morning to help brighten my complexion and fade my pigmentation from acne in the past. The first one I used was the Clique Fresh Pressed Vitamin C serum, then the Hylamide Vitamin C oil, followed by The Ordinary Vitamin C Suspension 23 % and now I am trying Drunk Elephant C Firma. I used Vitamin C as the first step after cleansing in my morning skincare routine as I use AHAs or BHAs at night.
The Hylamide C25 claims to help : dullness, uneven tone, smoother texture, and reduce fine lines. Hylamide Vitamin C has a dry oil texture. The formula is very watery as opposed to “viscousy”. It is hard to explain the texture of a dry oil. This oil takes a very long time to sink into the skin, however it never fully absorbs like a serum would, rather it sits on top of the skin and leaves in greasy (not dewy) which makes it difficult to put makeup over top of it. The texture is something I have found to really not like! I could manage to put up with the texture and lack of absorption if I found that I received good results. However this really did nothing for my complexion. I saw no improvement in dullness, tone, texture of my skin or reduction in fine lines. It tingled upon application, but nothing terrible. It did not make the skin red afterwards but I had not lightening of my scarring which I expect from a Vitamin C serum. I used this for about 6 weeks and have half a bottle left.
It isn’t the cheapest Vitamin C or the most expensive but sits nicely at mid range (around 50 dollars in Australia at Priceline). But I still would expect some results for this price. The packaging also concerns me as well. The dropper also concerns me. The packaging is certainly not airtight and will be exposed to light over time. Although Deciem says it has a “extraordinarily stable” form of Absorbic Acid, I still don’t believe this won’t turn bad quickly considering the packaging.
Unfortunately I have not found a Vitamin C from Deciem that I enjoy yet but I am willing to keep trying!

I am surprised that this has such a low rating. I tried Vitamin C products from Timeless, Body shop and Ole Henriksen before trying this one. I like that this one feels quite a bit more oily, makes it easier to spread across my skin and to me it just feels more elegant. It does absorb quickly and doesn’t leave an oily residue so don’t worry about that if you have oily skin. It has definitely helped lighten some dark spots I had and has evened my skin tone. I apply this at night after oil cleaning, micellar water and toner but before AHA or BHA, serums and creams. I let this sit about 5-10 minutes before applying anything overtop of it. The scent isn’t great, it smells very similar to the Timeless C just a bit less scented, not sure how to describe the scent…kind of smells like frozen meat/cold bologna? It’s very faint and fades quickly but it’s still not pleasant. Anyway it works really well which is all that matters. I like this just a touch more than Timeless but both worked well for me, the application is nicer on this to me. Would repurchase.

I’ve tried plenty of vitamin c serums such as Timeless, Paula’s Choice, Ole Henriksen, Caudalie, and OST. Some of the vitamin c serums have given me visible results, this one by Hylamide hasn’t. I don’t see much of a difference in my pigmentation or acne scars. I do see a glow in my skin, however, I’d like to see hyperpigmentation fading.

I can’t really think of any redeeming qualities to Deciem Hylamide C25. Granted, this is only the second C serum I’ve used, the other being Paula’s Choice C15 Super Booster. I actually really liked the PC product, but found it to be a bit too much for my skin, which caused irritation. I thought the Hylamide C25 would be less irritating because it contains a vitamin C derivative, Ethyl Ascorbic Acid. Unfortunately, there is no way of knowing whether the C in C25 was any less irritating because the product as a whole was even more irritating than the PC booster with L-Ascorbic Acid. I also found the C25 texture to be weirdly greasy and dry at the same time. It does not sink in well on its own, but is somewhat better when mixed 1:1 with Hylamide Low Molecular Hyaluronic Acid Serum or Sub Q Serum. Since both of those also irritate my facial skin, I’m quite out of luck on this one. Last resort was to use on my hands. On its own, C25 was very drying, making my hands look crepey. It is tolerable when used with the other Hylamide serums mentioned above, followed by a highly emollient cream. Even with these precautionary measures, I found my hands to not be as smooth, plumped and even toned as when I use the PC C15. These hylamide products have definitely been some of my worst buys. I must not be the only one who feels this way, because CVS also stopped carrying the line soon after it was introduced.

Im surprised at the lackluster reviews. I have incredibly oily skin and this is the only Vitamin c serum that doesn’t make it oilier. Ive tried MANY Vit C serums and this is my top pick. I get bad hyper pigmentation every time i get a zit so this helps the mark fade much faster! Love this stuff. If you have dry skin this might not be for you since its definitely no moisturizing. Oily skin though- this is a winner!

I’m just unimpressed with this product. I’ve been using it about 3 times a week for 4 months now and I have seen no difference in my skin. I had hoped to see an improvement in brightness and some light acne scarring but I have had zero visible results.
I also hate the texture of this product. It’s a really watery serum, so the dropper is not the most practical packaging, and it applies like a dry oil. It takes ages to absorb and leaves my face feeling greasy and shiny. The only positive thing I have to say about this product is that it didn’t cause any breakouts. Would not repurchase.

I bought this at the rec of the Skincare board for dull, lifeless skin. So far i like it, however it does go quickly if you use it twice a day as directed, so it can get expensive.
Also i don’t love the glass bottle/dropper packaging. I’ve had issues in the past with breaking glass on my bathroom floor and losing an entire bottle of product.
I *think* i would buy it again but not 100% sure because it wasn’t long lasting and i’m not sure if the benefits outweigh the price just yet. I will update in another month or so.

Like many other reviews here, I can’t tell if its working since the liquid remains clear and never goes yellow. Also, the difference isn’t that big. I like the concentration however I’m used to seeing a greater impact. I would repurchase but only at a discount. There are many vitamin c options out there now and I prefer something that is combined with other antioxidants since they work better or something with ferulic acid.
