   I’ve read some very mixed opinions about this shampoo on this board so here is mine.
   I got this shampoo and it’s companion conditioner on an offer from Boots. I’m a sucker for things that smell nice and once I’d realised that it was for dry , damaged hair , I gave it a go.
   It’s a very thick shampoo and needed a good squeeze to get out of the bottle, which as others have said, is identical to the conditioner bottle. My solution shampoo sitting right way up, conditioner upside down, it’s an even thicker consistency.
   It does a good job, cleaning my hair, just that. No better or worse than most other shampoo I have tried.

   I bought this product because of the packet and price… Well worst shampoo ever!! After I have used third of the bottle my hair started to fall, but not only a few, hundreds of them daily. Also got really bad dandruff. Didn’t change my diet, lifestyle or any other product but just this one.. My boyfriend also noticed the difference and bought vitamins, drinks, 3 kind of hair treatment to help… I had to cut it short not to be that visible. After 3 months of treatment it is growing back but it was hard emotionally.
   I am not sure if I was allergic to it or not but I don’t recommend it.

   I don’t use drugstore hair products as they don’t work for me and this shampoo was no better than the rest. The price and convenience are appealing, but forget it. I also bought the matching conditioner which isn’t worth reviewing. I have very dry, thick, curly (3A) hair that is colored close to my natural dark brown. My hair is very dry due to its coarse texture and being curly. It has only gotten worse since living in a city with very hard water for years and now having to color it. One would think that someone with hair like mine could handle products with thick shea butter in them, but all this shampoo did was coat my hair and leave it lifeless and drab, which is my experience with shea butter-based hair products in general. Forget about healing & hydrating, as the product claims! I also didn’t care for the faux tropical smell and having a shampoo and conditioner that look exactly the same (even the product inside looks the same) is a big problem if you are legally blind while in the shower.

   Like most with curly hair, I use a lot of products that need to be at least partially washed out (I sparingly use a clarifying shampoo as it strips my hair color a bit). This shampoo has no cleaning ability whatsoever and didn’t remove any of the curl cream, pomade, etc., built-up in my hair and simply coated it with what did feel like shea butter (I use raw shea butter as a lip balm). Furthermore, when your hair is coated with oil or butter like that, conditioner cannot penetrate it and you will end up with the driest, frizziest, most damaged hair in the world. I learned that the hard way in the late ’80s when I used food-grade coconut oil on my long hair as there were no styling products for big, frizzy curls like mine back then and my straight-haired mother was clueless.

   I have no idea why I fell for this shampoo and conditioner, but save your receipt with this brand. I returned both products for a full refund and went back to the Carol’s Daughter products I’ve used for nearly a decade (see my reviews).

   I get my hair colour once every 8 weeks to cover my greys. So I generally pick shampoo for dry and damaged hair. I’ve came across this one at Walmart and decided to give it a try. I’ve found the shampoo is very heavy and my roots became quite oily within 12 hours. I’ve tried it on a cooler day but still the same. I would recommended it to those with extremely dry hair.

   I have fine, dry hair and did not find this shampoo to be moisturizing at all. This brand packages itself as natural based and I do not consider it to be so. It contains C14-16 Olefin Sulfonate, which is a harsh detergent. This left my hair clean but dry. I did not find the rather to be rich or luxurious. This has a shea butter and coconut scent that I did not like. Overall, a cheap drug store shampoo.

   Already being a fan of the Maui Moisture Curl Quench & Coconut Oil Curl Smoothie I decided to first do a cleanse to remove the chlorine/salt water and other residue (including sulfates) from my hair (after reading the review by “ensayles”) before using this shampoo and I agree wholeheartedly with that review. I have a lot of hair, medium thickness and wavy/curly so it’s always hard to get it soft and smooth enough to run fingers through but this shampoo did just that. I seriously considered not using the conditioner after shampooing with this. It produces the richest lather and feels absolutely positively luxurious in my hair. I was sad having to rinse it out. And it smells divine! After first removing the residue and then using this my hair is the softest and shiniest it has ever been. But as the other reviewer mentioned, if you don’t have hair that leans toward dry then this will be too much for you. The packaging is nice but hard to get the product out of as it’s quite thick. Highly recommend you check out the products this brand has to offer – it is holy grail for me.

   I paid $6.50 for each bottle in this line (I got shampoo, conditioner and the spray oil) hoping for the best but not expecting much. In full disclosure, I also bought Ultra-Swim shampoo to get a good clarifying cleanse before starting this since google searching told me that switching from sulfates to natural cleansers takes a bit of an adjustment that I wanted to avoid (and supposedly my city water has chlorine added so I figured it couldn’t hurt to use this stuff.) I did have to shampoo with that Ultra-Swim about 3 times in a row before getting a good suds worked up, but then I got a great suds from this shampoo and realized to my amazement that I could actually run my fingers through my hair during this shampoo stage! Normally I shampoo up, rinse it out, then condition and run my fingers through it to get all the loose hair out–I simply can’t run my fingers through UNTIL adding conditioner. Not with this! I was running my fingers through it and through it and through it, amazed at the feeling! The conditioner was just as “luxurious”…there’s no other word for it!

   I have since washed with just these 2 and I don’t get the VAST amount of suds from that first wash, but that’s not surprising…I probably would if I shampooed 3 times like I did that first time (but it’s not necessary now.) I still get a lot of suds and that conditioned feeling, though. I MIGHT could go without the conditioner and use only the moisturizing shampoo, but my hair is super dry so I won’t even try. I haven’t had any adjustment period to this (again, could be because of the Ultra-Swim clarification?) What REALLY got me was that google-searching mentioned scratching your head and getting “dead skin cells” under your nails (which I totally did) but then they said it was actually the sulfates left over…and sure enough, I don’t get that under my nails now! I love this stuff!!!! And I only wash my hair every 3 days, so it will last me a LONG time! I even brought some travel sizes to work to share with a couple of friends, and they’re in love, too! But if you don’t have dry hair, this is NOT the product for you!
