My review is a little unusual because I didn’t buy this for its “traditional” or intended purpose as a facial serum, I bought it for severe surgical scars after Double Mastectomy and reconstruction. If you have any scarring you want to be rid of, Stay with me here….
After reading the ingredients, I instantly knew this had the potential to be a excellent scar therapy. It contained so many various scar treatments packed into one bottle. In fact the only super effective, natural scar tissue treatment/skin regeneration ingredient that I didn’t see was Tamanu oil… “Easy fix,” I thought. “I’ll just mix it with a drop of Tamanu.”
So I bought it, went home, and I did just that. I used this Serum with a drop of Tamanu oil religiously, twice daily for several weeks. Each week my scars made MAJOR improvement. At my 6 week post op appointment, my Reconstructive Surgeon was so impressed that he asked what I had been using. He knew I wasn’t using the expensive product he recommended because I had declined buying it in his office at our previous appointment. When I told him I was using this Serum with a drop of Tamanu oil added, he was very surprised but said, “Well, keep doing what you’re doing because it’s working very well and working very quickly.”
Now, for those saying this is expensive, it’s really not. First of all a very small amount covers a great distance. Secondly, this contains some rather expensive ingredients that would greatly increase production costs. Pure Helichrysum Essential oil alone is over 100$ for a bottle.
Anyway, I recommend this for scarring. Mix with Tamanu oil if you can. Will come back and edit if I try it on my face.

This is a decent serum. The smell is nice. Leaves skin soft after application. I did not notice any dramatic improvement or any added benefit other than more moisture using this. I would consider using this in conjunction with another serum or booster or to alternate once in a while. While I said I would purchase again, the truth is I wouldn’t go out of my way to purchase any of the evanhealy products as they are redundant – they aren’t doing anything someone else isn’t already doing – sometimes at a better price point. My skin is sensitive. Rosacea, cystic acne, super sensitive skin, oily, combo, aging skin. I have spent many years and $$ researching how to best care for my skin. I’ll admit I was lured in by the promise of scaled down skincare with magical ingredients picked by fairies and thoughtfully brought to my local store. (All you have to do is spray some flower water on your face and all your skin cares will melt away and you will have a beautiful, youthful glow). This may be a great way to introduce skincare to a young person. There are those who like knowing they only use pedigree ingredients that are natural, fair trade, etc. Nothing wrong with those if you find products you enjoy and produce the results you need/expect. And honestly, I know that there are some out there for whom this course is the right one…..
However, getting that bs blurb out of the way, there is absolutely no (ZERO, NONE) comparison of these “natural” products to hard core acids, peels, retinols, bp products, etc. There is NO comparison between this pared down natural regimen and a regimen which includes regular chemical exfoliation, serums, masks, treatments. All the products at Whole Foods are never going to produce the same results as a chemical peel from MUAC. It’s never going to happen. Never. Furthermore, I get a mostly organic rose hydrosol from MUAC for around $10. The same hydrosol from a brand like this? $30. Really?
I spent six months testing these natural lines out and my skin was more irritated. Less even. Blotchy. Uncomfortable. Gaping pores. In less than a week going back to my unnatural products my skin is back on track to being poreless, awake, soft, comfortable.
Again, if you like the idea of spending a ton of ca$h on this philosophy, go ahead, but I will put my 42 year old face next to anyone. (Touching my silky smooth -ass face right now). At least I was only out the money spent on the trial kit. I also tried Dr. Hauschka which I liked marginally better. I just don’t see the point in this brand and find it to be a waste of money and time. Save yourself.

I got the serum along with the toner (hydrosoul) from Whole Foods. I applied both of them together at night as instructed on the package (two drops of the serum with a few sprays of the toner) and it instantly hydrated my skin with no oily residue. However, as I woke up the next morning my face turned really red and irritated with red uneven blotches. Maybe this serum is not suitable for acne prone skin as it is oil based after all. However, it did hydrate my skin very well.

I normally use rose hip oil and my skin loves it I don’t know what it is about Evan skin care I get terrible red blotchy rashes basically allergic reactions and I am not allergic to essential oils in other products so I am not sure what but my skin is not loving Evan Healy skin care smells great though

The Blue kit was on sale at Whole Foods for $21.95, which they say is rare. I had tried it once a couple of years ago and loved the smell, but I started to feel my pores clogging and backed away. (I hear she has changed formulations a bit — removed any waxes, maybe.) It was the photo of Evan Healy herself that made me give it another go — there is something inspiring about a mature woman with realistically beautiful skin.
Anyhow, no problems this time. I still love the scent of the products. They are lovely to use. I have a glow and my redness is generally diminished. I am starting to think Evan Healy might be right about the overuse of alpha and beta hydroxy acids leaving your skin unprotected. And also right about synthetic ingredients being the main culprits in pore clogging.
In her videos she demonstrates combining the serums with the hydrosols and applying the two together with the hands. That’s how I’ve been doing it. When I feel like I need a deeper cleanser, I wash with a liquid African Black Soap. It’s a relief to be using more natural products!
UPDATE: I have drifted away from this line. My skin is sensitive, and eventually even the Blue products seemed to cause some irritation and redness. I seem to do better without fragrances, even natural ones.

This review is for the “blue” rosehip facial serum. There are two kinds blue and rose. Blue has blue chamomile, carrot and immortelle oils in it for sensitive dehydrated and mature skin types. The rose is more for normal combo types. Used with the Lavender Hydrosol this has really calmed down the redness and eased up the dehydrated condition of my normal to dry, sensitive skin. I tried the Blue facial kit for $29.95 at Whole Foods. The serum is one of the products in this kit. Love it!

I purchased the Blue Kit at whole foods about a week ago, and have been using it daily since. It’s rare that I am impressed by a skin care line right away. I saw results the second day. I should add that I am faithfully following the Evanhealy advice to let this skin rest at night, and usually do not put anything on it before bed. I was already a believer in the less is more approach to skin care after 2 years of severe trial and error with many expensive and drug store brands. This treatment serum is my favorite thing in the blue line so far, followed closely by the Lavender Hydrosol, which takes down inflammation like that. I have very sensitive skin that tends to react badly (breakout) to anything with irritants or chemicals. This whole line makes my skin feel plump and hydrated, but never oily or greasy. I thought I would never like another oil as much as neem oil, but this gives it a run for its money. I personally feel that skin should be left alone most of the time,…but if you want a skincare line to feel good about..then this is it.

Tested out samples of both versions, thanks to a generous MUAer; I’m afraid that, while the packaging and scent are exquisite, these are a no for me.
There are two versions of the Evan Healy Rosehip Treatment Facial Serum–to give it its full name. Both have rosehip seed oil as a main ingredient, but note that this is not rosehip oil plain and simple. Both also contain carrot seed oil (another decent source of vitamin A), and some essential oils (which have aromatherapeutic claims: up to you on that business). Neither version worked as well on my skin as rosehip oil does; indeed, the Blue version set off allergic sneezing (that would be the lavender).
The Blue version also contains blue chamomile, immortelle, and lavender essential oils. All add scent (alas, I’m quite allergic to lavender); blue (German) chamomile and immortelle (everlasting) are decent soothers & anti-inflammatory; my skin’s fine with them.
The Rose version also contains geranium, rosewood, and sandalwood EOs; adding scent. Does nothing for me, and as a sensitive-skinned and -nosed person, I prefer unscented skincare anyway and see no need to add EOs willy-nilly. Tougher hides may beg leave to differ, and those with different approaches to the use and abuse of scent in everyday life may well delight in the added scent… this just isn’t my thing, and I’d advise caution to any other sensitive, irritable folks out there.
If you like the sound of these scents, and know they’re fine on your skin, and indeed maybe prefer your products to be scented: go for it!
PRICE: USD 24.95 / 0.5 fl oz (15 ml), plus shipping. Note for comparison that plain organic unrefined rosehip seed oil is available from various places online from around USD 5.00-7.00 / 1 fl oz (i.e. between 1/8 and 1/10 of the price), and if you really wanted the scent, you could add that and make up your own version for considerably less.

At first I really liked this product – it’s light, gentle on sensitive skin and gets absorbed pretty well. However, looks like it clogged pores on my cheeks :((( It gradually got worse and worse (I’ve been using it for about a month). FYI, I have been using exclusively Jojoba oil + toner for over three months, and my skin was fairly clear before I added this product to my regiment. So back to the search for a good day moisturizer.
PS I’ll follow the advise on a comment below and will keep the bottle with pump – it’s a great glass little bottle for my Jojoba oil.

Evan healy products are changing my skin. As in, clearing out, evening out, softening and beautifying my life-long “problem” skin. This serum hydrates my skin, makes it glow and is slowly bringing all those congested pores and impurities I have around my mouth to the surface. That might sounds scary but it hasn’t been anythign like the usual “purge” effect I have seen after a facial or other deep cleansing product. Instead, I can tell this serum is both clearing, hydrating and clearing out my skin. I love putting it on each morning, knowing that it is a product of incredible quality and integrity. It smells rich and natural. I am so grateful to have found evan healy!
