I’ve tried about 6 full samples of this (enough for several weeks of wear-testing)… and I didn’t like it. At first it looked so nice on me! It wasn’t completely matte, which I liked. The consistency is really thin but covers quite well (this is more of a light-medium coverage foundation) and looks natural – that is good. But then it began breaking down in a really short amount of time! I have normal-dry skin, which wasn’t flaky or dehydrated in any way at the time I was testing this… but this foundation partly disappeared in patches – as IF it was flaking off. Other places it was sliding around and didn’t really set in place. It didn’t last on my pores either, leaving me with little dots on my nose. Overall, it lasted worse than Luminous Silk (which I also dislike) did on me.
From what I know about my skin, I would guess that this foundation somehow irritated my skin, as I oil production and flaking is something my sensitive skin can do when being irritated. It didn’t give me any redness or acne, but it seemed a little like my skin was trying to get rid of it. People whose skin is not irritated y this might have a much better experience. It’s lucky that Armani provides samples though – at least you can test before buying a whole bottle. If you’re still interested, 4.5 was a pretty good color for my then NC20 skin.

I’ll never not love this product. I have super oily skin and am prone to spots and struggled for years to find a foundation that lasted all day and covered my blemishes. This foundation does both. Although its pretty expensive and ask for it as a birthday/ christmas present, I’ve been using this product for 3 years now and I’m never going to stop!!
The coverage is just enough for me (I use concealer on some points of my face but don’t need a lot) and it lasts for about 7 hours before it gets oily. That being said, when this product gets oily, it doesn’t separate or cause a slick on my nose and get gross, it just fades slightly and goes to a really nice dewy finish.
The packaging is really nice, easy to clean and I make the product last for 3-4 months, so I definitely get my money’s worth!

Ok, so I am addicted to foundation. I.have been on a never ending quest to find the holy grail of foundations.
I purchased Giorgio Armani lasting silk 2 days ago and I think my search is over. Maybe I have been trying to find a foundation to give me back the feeling of my skin in my youth. Many foundations, even those I have used for quite a while just weren’t cutting it anymore. They either settled into my fine lines, broke up on my skin due to an oilier tzone, too matte or too dewy or not enough coverage. It has to be said that full coverage foundations are not very flattering over the age of 40.
I purchased this foundation with mixed feelings as I already have Giorgio Armani Luminous Silk and I like it but I found it inconsistent on me. Some days I thought it looked amazing and some days just meh! I also felt like I had to use lots of product to get the coverage I was after.
I purchased the lasting silk as I was told it had more coverage and the lasting part appealed to me. My first impression when I first started apply was to think how watery it is and then I started to blend and I could see it was giving a good level of coverage. I built up the coverage in certain areas where I like more cover and there was no cakeyness at all. The magic really happened after I was finished applying and let it set. It sets to a gorgeus demi matte satin finish and does not settle into any of my fine lines. It would even go as far as saying it even blurs them a little.
I set with It Cosmetics Bye Bye pores loose powder and it looked even better. For such a thin foundation I was surprised how pigmented it is. I would call it a medium coverage foundation but I am sure I could build it up to full without compromising the beautiful finish of it. I have had this on since about 7 am and it is now 5 pm. It is a 33 degree celsius day in Melbourne, Australia I have been running around doing things throughout the day. I have a tiny bit of shine around my nose but it otherwise looks exactly the same. It hasn’t melted off and even where I am a bit shiny it hasn’t broken up on my skin. I will say that this foundation definitely oxidises but I actually love the colour it sets to on my skin. Just bear this in mind when selecting a colour.
My parting thoughts are that I can see this becoming my favourite foundation. I have sooo many and go through phases where I like them for different reasons but I have never been this impressed after a first impression with a foundation. It ticks all my boxes except for the hefty price tag but I think it is actually worth it ????

I wanted to love this- shade was a perfect match. But it made me so greasy and I don’t have oily skin. No matter what prep I tried (mattifying primer, lighter moisturizer) or what powder I set it with, within a couple of hours, I looked greasy. For the price, I expect it to be better. The only way I made it work was to use more powder than normal and that defeated the purpose of a “glowy” foundation

BEST foundation I’ve ever used. Very easy to apply (with brush or fingers), the texture is silky and thin, and it gives out a beautiful satin finish with natural glow. Also it’s easy to build up the coverage but at the same time it can achieve a very natural finish if you just apply a few on the face. I have combination skin and most of the time it doesn’t make my skin oily or dry me out. It doesn’t break me out or clog my pores as well. It’s a bit expensive but hey one bottle can last for more than a year so it’s definitely worth investing. For the same kind of foundation this one is on top of the league.

The best!!! I have acne prone skin and this foundation provides great coverage for my acne scars without making me break out. I’ve started receiving so many compliments about my skin since I began using this foundation. A bit pricy but worth it in my opinion. Great for my sensitive skin. I’m so glad my facialist recommended it!

I’m still on my quest to find the perfect makeup for me and after reading reviews and such, I splurged and bought this foundation.
I like a buildable foundation. Something that is lightweight but can easily build to a more medium/fuller coverage. This foundation is marketed this way but does NOT do the job.
Here are the pros and cons:
Pros:
-lightweight / shade 5 seemed to be a great match for my winter NC25 skin. The SA matched me to 5.5 and I bought it but requested shade 5 as a tester for home because sure enough the 5.5 was WAY too orangey for me
-Blends pretty easily
-At first appearance looks really nice
-It comes with a pump
Cons:
-Not buildable coverage. I tried to add more foundation to my problem areas and it did nothing to build more coverage and blend.
-It dries to a powdery finish but is still luminescent. The finish showed EVERYTHING on my skin. Wrinkles, pores that I didn’t know I had.
-Within hours the foundation started to fade. It did not last on my skin.
All in all for the price, just do not understand the hype here. I get better coverage and a nicer finish from my $30 TM by Merle Norman!

Stop the search! This is the best foundation I have ever used. It looks like skin. Period. It is so natural, easy to blend with my fingers, lasts until I remove it. I don’t feel it on my skin, it doesn’t clog pores, does not crease or settle into fine lines, it does not emphasize pores. I have fair skin and number 4.5 is a bit darker than I need, so next time I’ll pick up number 4. A bottle lasts about 6 months of every day use. It is expensive but it’s just so perfect that I’m ready to splurge.

How it looks like:
– the bottle, the pump, the cap even the box (YES THE BOX) look fancy and classy. having a grip on it makes me feel like I was on top of the world giving orders to other makeup companies to give the extra effort and tell them “this is how a high-end makeup brand should have presented their liquid foundation in”
– pumping out the product gives me orgasm (…. I know, I’m a freak but seriously, try it). It’s just that good and satisfying to see such beautiful creature being pumped out of the bottle.
When being applied:
– the smell is a little too strong for my sensitive nose
– glides on very very smoothly
– one full pump can cover all of my face and neck and stil, some of the product left, so be extra cautious when pumping out the product
– the shade I got look definitely too light on my face, though it fits the shade of my chest and the back of my hands (got shade #2, bought it online)
– my face looks “oh wow so matte did you put on too much powder?” after application
After it sets:
– the matte look turns more to the side of satin finish
– looks good on its own
– looks even better after thinly applying my nars loose powder
– coverage is to the light/medium side which may be a downside for fans of full-coverage foundation (but that’s what a concealer is for)
– the shade which was too light at first, blends in so well after set and matches my skin tone perfectly, hides minor imperfections
The whole day performance:
– it controls oils to some extent; i do need to blot 2-3 times in one full day (7 am – 10pm) which is not bad at all
– it doesn’t melt with oil nor does it leave the skin when blotting
– a proper cleansing is needed after wearing this foundation since it sits strongly (kinda) on your skin
Definitely GO FOR IT:
– if you have the extra money to spend on a full bottle (a little goes a long way, so it’s worth every penny)
– if you like matte/satin finish
– if you prefer your foundation to have light-medium coverage
– if you aren’t sensitive to alcohol
– if you’re on the normal to oily side of the skin
To be considered:
– if you’re on the normal to dry skin (it’s not hydrating, i suspect the alcohol in it being the agent that dries up your skin on a daily basis of usage)
– i would not recommend it to be used daily anyway, but it’s so good for when you need something fancy going on (read: parties, receptions, dates, outings, other activities you consider to be fancy)
Repurchase? Definitely a YES, I’m in love with this foundation

This is by far the best foundation I have tried. I used so many foundations and i can truly say that this is “the one”. It applies very thin and really holds on to my skin. It doesnt sink to my pores and fine lines under my eyes. It has a lovely scent but if you are sensitive to fragrance then I would avoid this foundation. It provides medium coverage so i use a concealer when I have blemishes. It brightens and evens out my skin tone. The finish is semi matte which looks stunning for all occasions. It lasts a good 7-9 hours on my oily combination skin when used with a primer and a setting powder. Another thing i love about this foundation is that it breaks down so beautifully. It feels like as time passes the foundation mixes with oil on my face and just gets even prettier.
The price is a bit high but it lasts a very long time and worth every penny
The best way to apply this foundation is with a damp beauty blender!
