I bought this about 4 years ago, and I think I had a review up a long time ago as well which I decided to delete. The reason being, this palette really isn’t for the regular consumer and I wish I knew that all the way back in 2014.
Don’t get me wrong, this is incredible. The longevity of every single color is insane, the colors are incredibly pigmented, and they have the perfect amount of blendability without sacrificing staying power either. (Staying power isn’t perfect though, because this will transfer a bit if your either in a hot climate, or if you’re not using thin layers). I live in Canada and even after 4 years none of the colors have lost their texture, or color. They perform as if I had bought them yesterday.
Okay, so onto the real reason I wanted to put this review up, I wanted to address all the “regular consumers” who had purchased this not realizing how difficult this is to work with unless you either understand color theory, or if you are a makeup artist.
There are a couple charts up I found on google images which show you which colors to mix for various lip colors, I find mixing the peach and the brown gives me a perfect nude lipstick color I can alter with either the yellow or purple+yellow. Using purple and yellow gives me a beautiful mauve shade which again, you can alter using yellow, or brown or even red depending on what kind of “mauve” you want. I think that’s the great thing about this palette actually, once you get the hang of it you can start altering shades to fit the undertones of your skin, or to deepen shades as well. I think that’s why this is such a great product if you’re doing makeup on someone else because you’ve got all the shades you need to alter the color to fit your client.
The second use is to mix it with cream products you already have. I remember reading something about this a long, long time ago, how this palette was initially designed to be mixed with regular makeup products without changing the formula too much. Which makes sense, cause you don’t need much of each color. I find this to be really useful for those lipsticks you wish you never bought because on the outside it looked like it was a mlbb shade and when you actually wear it…it’s…a disaster.
These tips are mainly to use for lips, or cheeks but I’m sure you can do the same with brow products as well as cream shadows. I don’t think this would be a good liner cause I feel it’s too creamy. Like, even if you’re living in a cold place it’s still a little too creamy to use as liner anywhere.
If you are thinking of purchasing this and you’re not working on clients, I think it’s good to address what you already have in your collection and to decide whether or not altering shades, or mixing your own is for you. It’s a bit of a hassle, especially storing the color (if you go to MAC they have really nice sample jars you can fit a good amount in). When I bought this I didn’t have as many colors as I do now, nor did I really know what worked for me and what didn’t. So at the time this was the perfect product for me because I thought I wouldn’t have to ever buy another lipstick, or blush, or bronzer. Until I realized how much time and effort it really takes to get the right color. I have it now so of course I’m going to use it, but honestly, I barely touch it. Save your money and get something else. Especially for something that costs nearly 120 dollars, don’t get it unless you REALLY need to.

This smells really bad, and is useless for anything other than stage makeup or Halloween. I got it as a gift and tried to create foundation using the yellow, white, brown and peach. I quickly ran out of white and had to buy NYX white foundation mixer to try to salvage the other colors, but ended up throwing this away. This is way too greasy and uncomfortable to wear as foundation, eye/lip color. It is also super messy; I can’t imagine anyone paying $99 for this!

This is my best makeup purchase of all time! This is my dream makeup item, I adore mixing and adjusting colours and the versatility this allows for!!! The colours blend and diffuse beautifully without adding any grainy texture. This can lend a painterly effect and as long as it is set with powder (translucent, eyeshadow, blush, foundation powder), you are guaranteed the majority of the day to have your makeup job stay in place. I have created beautiful shading and colours with this or tempered/adjusted cream products with this and it is just a phenomenal item!! The clarity of colour is unsurpassed!! The mixes you can make are limited only to your imagination. I adore every single shade in this. Beautiful excellent product!

A lot of the reviewers here seem confused about what this product actually is and how to use it and so have given low ratings.
This is grease paint. Grease paint is oil based (and thus greasy!) and requires to be set with a powder if it is to stay put. If it’s not properly set it will melt in warm conditions, it will crease, it will slide off. Using a regular make-up primer will not be much help if you are not powdering over the top as they are not designed for grease paints.
Grease paint was never meant to be used for every day make-up it was designed for the stage and has a very interesting history.
Packaging on this is perfect for my kit; light and unfussy, easy to open. Colours can be mixed to create many more colours. Perfect for editorial and avant garde looks, useful for stage & effects when mixed.
I’ve put wouldn’t buy again mainly because there is a very cheap dupe available and I want to try that out. I also prefer Kryolan Supracolour as this is available in a wider selection of palettes and pre-mixed shades.

I have to assume that this palette is for the “true” MUA and not the “civilian” makeup wearer because this thing did NOT work for me! Because this is a cream, the colors are easy to blend and I did see a MUA on YouTube use her flash palette to make a foundation which is f’ing awesome, but I couldn’t even come close to doing this. *sad face*
The colors crease. A lot. I guess primer would work but I don’t have the time in the mornings for such foolishness!
I got this as a gift, but sadly I had to return as I just could do nothing with it. But like I said, if you’re “artist” at the expert level, I’m sure you can do amazing things. But for “noobs” like me, no can do.
Back to Sephora it went.

I would love to like this but the price isn’t worth it. My cons are I can’t use it as an eyeshadow, because it melts away in 30 minutes, it creases in 30 minutes, i can’t use it as a lipstick, and i am not a fan of its packaging. I mainly use this for concealing, blushing, and eyebrow shaping. I don’t use the silver, and gold mainly, because it is for the eyes and using it in other places is too glittery for any other application besides as an eyeshadow. I wasted a lot of money on this and will not buy this ever again!

I really like this product. I once needed concealer for under eye circles while in the car and didn’t want to use my NYX conc I had my flash color case in my makeup bag. I just begin to blend the brown, yellow, a bit of white, and the coral and voila! Lol the best.

I heard so many great reviews saying it was a “must-have” for makeup artists, so needless to say i was very excited to own it. I must say that i am only slightly impressed with this product. I didn’t know that certain colors can only be used on certain parts of the face, if i had used the wrong thing on a client it could have been a disaster! Also, the colors crease even with a primer, so I always apply a powder eyeshadow on top. The possibilities are endless but for $100, I expected much more and am a bit dissapointed.

I absolutely love this palette. I gave it a 4 star because it can crease and it’s not water proof. It would be super if it was water proof as well. But I do mix it with a aqua cream base and I find that makes it less creasing and lasts longer. I also set it with the HD powder. I use it for so so many things. I particularly love it as blush bases. It makes my cheeks glow all day with just one dab of my powder blush over it. The very first color I mixed was the dupe of Nars Orgasm and it was to the T!! Love it. Now if they can make it water proof like the aqua cream then this palette would be the best invention ever. I would buy it again but I don’t think I will ever need to since it will prob lasts me a life time. Although I can see the white being used up faster then any other colors. It is on the pricier side, but if you think of all the uses for it, then it’s a great deal!

These colors are really pretty cool, but my biggest complaint is that they can’t be used on all parts of the face. Some can’t be used on lips, others can’t be used on eyes. If I were applying it to myself, I don’t think I’d care since I have no allergies and my skin wouldn’t break out. Unfortunately, I apply makeup to OTHER people and I have to take their safety into account. Given that, it’s just not as useful of a palette as it looked like it would be at the store and I’m considering returning it.
Also, on a moderately hot day (85 degrees) I found that the palette has “sweat” some of the oils/moisture out which then beaded on top of the product while being transported in the car. I had to wonder if the product would last very long (can’t say either way, just an observation at this point).
