Definitely not for oily skin, especially on the t-zone…too much of a sheer finish like you ‘ve put on some facial oil. Same experience for the other normal parts of the face. Doesn’t blend and you try to apply it with a brush or beauty blender foundation fades away

I could never wear the original Double Wear since it was very heavy on my skin. I usually stay away from heavy coverage foundation and is always on the look out for natural, dewy kinda foundation finishes. I bought this foundation recently from Duty free at quite a good price in Dubai. The shade I use is Shell Beige and the texture is extremely light. I guess it provides a buildable coverage but for me one layer is just enough. The effect is natural, radiant looking skin and is quite a long-lasting one. The best feature of the product is unlike most products, it can be pushed back into the “stick” by twisting it anti-clockwise which I find extremely helpful.I have a habit of twisting the stick vigorously resulting in the release of too much of product but with this feature I can regulate the usage, thus saving from wastage!

I bought Double Wear Nude Cushion Stick Radiant Makeup (I’ll abbreviate it DWNC) because it was on sale (50% off) and EL does not have a shade for me in Double Wear Light, which I hear is being reformulated (the new one is out now). I really wanted the DW Light, but no go. DWL in 4.5 matched (sort of), but would look better if it were a tiny bit darker. I could have bought the DWL in 4.5 and 5 and mixed them: two for the price of one, as these are also on sale — I may do this, but I digress.
Okay. Interesting that the computer matched me in regular DW with 4W2 Toasty Toffee, which looked grey on my skin when applied. A big NO! Ultimately, after a testing saga, the MA matched me with 5W2 Rich Caramel in regular DW and gave me some samples to try. It matches well, but I think the formula is a bit too dry for my needs. Word to the wise: be wary of their computer’s results. I trust my eyes more than I do their computer.
I thought that DWNC in 6W1 would work, but when the MA put it on my skin in the store, it looked too dark under a super bright light they put me under, so we mixed it with 5W1 and the color was perfect. So I had to buy two shades to get a match: 5W1 and 6W1. When I wear it, I mix two parts 6W1 to one part 5W1 and it looks good. I’m paranoid about makeup fading, so I primed before and lightly powdered after the DWNC application. I unscrewed the foam applicators, twisted out the desired amount of each onto a palette, and mixed them together. I then applied with my fingers and blended it out with a blender. On a very humid, rainy, NYC day it held up perfectly and lasted all day. I was sweating, but my makeup did not budge, no oil-slick breakthrough, and almost no transfer. It looked very natural on my skin made it feel softer! However, I did not see much in the way of radiance.
I don’t use their sponge for application, although I do store the tubes with the sponges on. I don’t have time to be washing and drying these things after every use, so forget that. This is a design flaw and I think it is the reason the product has so many complaints on other sites. The container is good for travel: plastic and compact. At this price point, $21, you should pick it up before it disappears from stores. I like it!
For reference I wear TheBalm BalmShelter in Dark + After Dark mixed for the best shade; Stila Perfect & Correct in Warm (discontinued; minimal coverage, but a perfect match); Prescriptives All-Skin Mineral makeup in Level 5 Warm; and Becca Multi-Tasking Perfecting Powder in Warm Honey (a perfect match). I was matched to NARS Radiant Cream Compact Foundation in Macao, but never bought it because I do not think it would wear well on my combination skin. I do not have a tried and true MAC match because I have very sensitive skin and am convinced their makeup will cause me to break out like Maybelline products do.

Despite hating “radiant” and “cushion” makeup, I am over the moon in love with this foundation! The silky consistency glides over the skin making application a snap, leaving a light, buildable, skin-like coverage. In under 30 seconds, the foundation sets and the initial sheen vanishes so it requires no setting powder. It is amazingly forgiving over any textural flaws like wrinkles, fine lines, or dry patches, while not being a greasy mess. Once set, the finish remained the same for 12 hours — no shine, no dryness, no caking, no creasing! I typically avoid reusable cushions due to contamination risks, but the consultant showed me how to pop off the cushion and it works perfectly. There is quite lot of perfume in this foundation. Though it dissipates quickly, I strongly prefer unscented makeup. I will be repurchasing a backup because this is magic in a bottle.

I have combination skin (oily and dehydrated) and am in mid 20s.
It’s a nice light coverage foundation that minimizes appearance of enlarged pores and diminishes slight redness whilst providing a natural finish and look.
The shade section is nice.
It has solid wear time before it starts to fade, and should not be put into the longwear range.
The packaging is hideous and bulky and you get less product than usual at a higher price.
I don’t use the cushion as it is too small, stiff and impractical. The Real Techniques Expert Brush works much better.
I find it works well with Too Faced Hangover primer (and Caudalie pink moisturizer sorbet) and it is good for the wintertime. I always apply (setting) powder on top (Guerlain meteorites, Laura mercier or NARS).
It doesn’t make my skin react: no pimples or anything similar.
It’s a nice everyday foundation when you want to look like you wear nothing.
A better option for medium coverage would be Armani Luminous Silk. For similar coverage Urban decay Naked is a good option too.
I have shade 2N1 which matches with Urban Decay Naked 2.0 and Luminous Silk 4.5
I’m usually NC20.

Would love if some packaging changes. I have repurchased.
I am nw15-20 and have 1C1 cool bone for winter and 1N2 Ecru for summer
Pros:
Love the finish
Doesn’t break me out
When the applicator works it is really easy to use.
Convenient
Very comfortable
Cons:
When the applicator twists off mid way it is annoying as heck
Can’t wash applicator, I tried but it broke when I did. That being said I called Estee Lauder and they sent me three spares so win
About me:
Age 41, combo skin sensitive to dimethicone (can break me out but not always)
Mac Prolongwear NW20 summer NW15 winter maybe mix of two
Mac Face and Body N1 (with maybe some white mixer) in winter N2 maybe mixed with N1 summer
Nars Mont Blanc Winter Summer Deuville
Estee Lauder Double wear (normal and cushion) winter 1C1 cool bone and summer 1N2 ecru
Bourjois Serum 51 winter 52 summer

Ok light coverage foundation. Not long wearing and a complete rip off pricewise. I obsolutely hate the cushion, the whole thing is a gimmick. The quantity for the price is ridiculous.
It’s not space saving as it’s actually big and heavy.
It’s nothing like double wear, it should have a different name. I wasn’t expecting it to be the same fortunately. I just hoped for a solid lighter foundation.
That aside, as a standalone foundation it isn’t up to much. Very disappointing. Don’t waste your money.

Really cool in theory, but in practice it just looks like crap on my skin. The coverage is very sheer, like less than my Nars tinted moisturizer, and it emphasizes pores and dry patches I didn’t know existed, while doing nothing for the redness and unevenness on my face, you know, the opposite of what foundations do! If it hadn’t come with a great GWP that’s worth more than the foundation itself, I’d return it, but instead it’s going into the freebie bin my family gets to take from every few months. I don’t predict a long life for this product. Lancome TIU cushion does everything I hoped this would, without the gimmicky packaging.

So ive been using this foundation for 2 weeks now and the coverage is a sheer coverage but can be built up to a medium.
I am VERY pale i mean very so double wear is far too dark for me i am slightly lighter than MAC NC15 but that aside i have shade 1w1 bone which is the lightest shade in this foundation and i honestly find its still way too dark for me even being a sheer foundation. However with a damp beauty blender and some lightning drops its perfect! The sponge applicator on the top i didnt really use as its so small and i like to cover larger areas quicker.
PROS:
???? Great for travel
???? Colour range is good (especially if you arent casper
The friendly ghost ????
???? If you despense too much product twist it the other
Way and it sucks it back in!
???? Dewy glowy finish
???? Great for all skin types i have oily/dryish blemish
Prone skin.
???? Sponge comes off so you can wash it
CONS:
???? $58AU for 14ML of product!
???? If your extra pale you may need a mixing medium
???? It feels gluggy IMO but maybe because i have to
Mix it to get my true shade
So i would buy this foundation again spite having to purchase something else to mix it with, i travel so it comes in handy on the plane. My personal go to is the ellis faas foundation click pen thing but the packaging is so impractical so i would probally take the estee lauder one on the plane with me. It is $58AU so its pretty pricey and priceline have some great travel friendly foundations
***Side note*** my skincare/makeup for the week has been ALL estee lauder as when the lady at the counter in david jones tried it on me obviously thats what she used so i figured i would try it (they have a box you can buy for $50 or so and it has sample sizes in it. It honestly feels the same as when i use my other skincare products so if your like me one of those people who biy everything the counter lady uses it may be worth gettinf a sample box but totally not necessary as i saw no difference in my skin or the way the foundation sat on my face .

I bought this because I wanted something with less coverage than original doublewear for work. Put it this way – it takes seconds to apply (I use a beauty blender not the daft sponge included) and I put this on at 6am this morning and it’s now 9pm. And it hasn’t budged. I’m really oily and it doesn’t look even SLIGHTLY shiny, nor has it moved. Everything I wanted and more. Really pleased! The coverage is exactly what I was after (light/medium) and I’m so pleased with the staying power.
