I blind bought this for two reasons:
1 – It was cheap
2 – Other Rochas perfumes work really well with my body chemistry
I lucked out. Just like the other Rochas perfumes, this one really works with my body chemistry. I love sandalwood, but my skin tends to amplify woody notes. Not so the sandalwood in this one. It smells milky, creamy like the lather of good quality soap made with real sandalwood oil. I’m not mad keen on fruity perfumes, but this one doesn’t actually smell fruity on me. What I get instead is:
Musk
Milky sandalwood
Slightly sour green notes, like an unripe mango
A touch of spice
I can’t really smell the vanilla, and the orange blossom dissolves into the sandalwood to create that soft, creamy lather like smell.
It is currently available in Chemist Warehouse stores in Australia for $10. I purchased one 30ml bottle, and two days later, went back and purchased four more (I store extra perfumes in a chest freezer).
This is not quite a love for me, but a very very strong like. It would be a love it if was slightly stronger, as I am not heavily into skin scents, and if it had greater longevity. I know at this price I can reapply throughout the day, but I just never carry perfume with me, or keep it in the office. I like to spray once in the morning and smell it all day. Lasts longer if worn over body lotion, and it would smell great if it came in a lotion.
I personally find it an office friendly perfume because it has low sillage. So far no one has commented on it either positively or negatively. I think it will bloom in hot weather, and summer is just around the corner.

This was another blind buy for me but I like it very much. I chose this one because it is made in Paris. French perfumes usually smell so good and last longer than most others on me. I bought it from a place where if it just was not for me, I could return it. I was pleased with it right away. I get many hours of wear from a good spray. It does take more than a spritz however. I love the dry down with this one. It is not a plastic smell like so many have anymore but rather a light base of cinnamon, maybe even a touch of powder and vanilla. Very nice. I knew nothing of Rochas before now but I will be checking out the other scents from this line up.

Sometimes we blame a house for not performing to our standards. We expect every perfume they produce to be at some invisible standard we have set for them and if their newest creation has not towed this line, all hell breaks loose. I have read negativity posed at Muse and I don’t know why. It’s a delightful little oriental floral that sits close to the skin after it drys down. It eventually becomes a woody vanilla with a light musk dancing with swirls of resin. It’s a surprise perfume because its beginning is nothing like its ending and I like that. It sits close to the skin making it perfect for a variety of uses, the office, close encounters, small spaces…you can figure this one out.
There is a definitive powdery finish which is quite nice when the florals come back out to announce themselves. Sometimes I just want a perfume that’s demure, dainty, coy and exquisite in its presentation and Muse fits this bill. It lasts quite a few hours happily for me and the bottle fits heftily in my hand. It’s a beautiful dark lilac color with a metallic cap, no plastic and gold lettering on the front.
Yes, sometimes I do want a feminine perfume that speaks of gentleness, not weakness. Muse de Rochas sustains a number of these qualities.
