   I’m a huge fan of Aesop and have started using their products for the last 10-15 years. I’ve got this as a gift and was so happy when I opened the present.

   This is a very light serum and texture is quite watery which makes so so easy to absorb into the skin. I have combination skin and often in air-conditioned place which makes my skin quite dry but yet oily. I had used it day and night under a moisturizer in the last 4 months and really like it. It keeps my skin hydrated without the greasiness. Excellent to use in humid weather.

   I was given samples to try before I purchased the bottle. I like it initially. The oil adsorbed fast and it was non greasy. As such, I thought it would be able to help my acne and oily skin. After I switched to the bottle, it started to give me small tiny bumps (not pimples, just those that appeared when too oily products were used). I was using Aesop serum together as well. Not sure which was the culprit causing the bumps. I switched to other products, and the bumps didn’t reappear.

   I’m a Asian male in my late 20’s with combination/sensitive skin with continuous(yet mild with little pigmentation) break outs on my face/chest/back. I also have a bit of rosacea around my frontal cheeks. I use Kiehl’s Calendula Toner with Physiogel Lotion(or cream) + Kiehl’s Ultra Light Suncreen on a daily basis. It gets quite humid and hot where I live, and I sweat a lot so I’ve been searching for a product that hydrates yet is mild and non-greasy. I was initially attracted to the brand after using their hand wash, and got some pretty good reviews from friends who use their products. I was worried since I rarely change my skincare products due to break outs and sensitivity, but this product really amazed me with its incredible texture-non drying yet fully moisturizing.The price is super expensive for me who uses European pharmacy brand products mostly, but the scent/texture/hydration/no break outs will make me repurchase after I finish my first bottle. I just love this product so much!

   This product is very soothing once I applied it on my face after cleansing but few days after, my face starts to itch and I have rashes all over my face. I didn’t mix with other brand’s products. Just doing usual daily regimen. I think maybe I am allergic to some of the ingredients. I don’t know. Luckily I am able to refund this at the counter. Not for my hypoallergenic skin.

   Aesop is a brand that I never thought to look at until I saw it in Australia.

   The product comes in a dark glass bottle which looks nice on my vanity, but isn’t too great to travel with or if you have clumsy hands. The applicator itself is a dropper which is convenient and hygienic.

   I always thought this was a hydrating serum meant to be used under another thicker moisturizer, but the sales lady clarified that it is actually a moisturizer on its own for oily-skinned people. Being oil-free, this is Aesop’s lightest moisturizer in their range.

   The serum itself feels sticky upon initial application but absorbs well and doesn’t feel that way after awhile. As I am very acne-prone, I’m super cautious what I put on my skin as it does not agree with almost all moisturizers (I’m still searching). I’ve tested this product long enough to say with certainty that it does not clog my pores at all. In terms of hydration, it would probably be sufficient in humid weather but is not moisturizing enough for dry skin. Now that I have moved to a dryer climate, I will use this till I find a moisturizer my skin likes.

   If you are acne-prone and your skin breaks out with moisturizers, I’d suggest giving this a try.

   For people who have SUPER oily skin I would recommend it. But because I’m more combination and I do have some dry spots this was just an okay product for me.
   Then again, I am the one with the combination skin.

   The only reason why I wouldn’t repurchase this product is purely because it’s way to expensive for what it is. I do understand that aesop product is a high end product and they do put quality into their products. BUT you can find something cheaper and does similar things.

   i have oily and dry skin combination. sometime is oily and sometime it can be very dry till itchy. i have very serious acne problem mostly on my forehead , and i tried this it moisture my skin but did nothing in oil /sebum control. it is good in hydrating but it smell weird and after awhile my face will have sebum again. it soothes my skin make it less dry , but

   I have bought 3 bottles of this already. This serum is so moisturising for my face and always saves me when I have super dry skin from over-cleansing/exfoliating. I also like the smell of it and although a bit expensive it can last for a long time.

    This was my routine before this product:
    > Pond’s anti-bacterial cleanser
    > Witch Hazel toner
    > The Body Shop’s Tea Tree Skin Clearing Lotion
    > Cetaphil non-fragrance moisturiser
    >> At night I would use BP 5%.
    This routine went on for about 1 month.

    (That combination DID NOT DO ANYTHING GOOD to my skin at all. It was probably the BP and the really drying effects of the Ponds anti bacterial cleanser, but my skin would often be flakey and have little break outs.)

    Cystic acne didn’t come about until March of 2012 (It’s May now), and I decided to increase the price range for my skin care. I went to my local Aesop in Brisbane and the saleswoman was kind enough to sample the products on my hand. She gave me small samples to take home of the Amazing Cleanser, Bitter Astringent Toner, Chamomile Concentrate Anti-Blemish Masque and offered me the Oil Free Facial Hydrating Serum too. Now, I was running out of my Cetaphil so I decided to pay $63 (which is so much money for a struggling student) on the Serum.

    I’ve been using it religiously on my face, and yes, the product can be sticky upon initial contact, but if you’re PATIENT enough to wait thirty seconds, it will dry matte upon your skin. The reviewers before me who seem to complain about the stickiness of it obviously had shitty sales assistants. Mine warned me about the tackiness.

    RESULTS?! I hear you ask? Yes, well my friend had told me my skin looked clearer, and I can definitely feel less oil on my face whenever I happen to touch my skin sans-makeup. I love that it’s improved my skin from it’s hellish, blemish-ridden state.

    HOWEVER it is not a miracle product, and by all means, try it once to see if it’s what makes your skin glow, but I still get break outs. It does little to my skin when I do break out. It hasn’t changed my life, it’s just changed the severity and size of my pimples.

    That ^ and coupled with the fact that I once used one of my samples of the Chamomile Masque I found REALLY improved my skin. So I might be a bit skewed in my judgement because I didn’t buy the whole range. I’m not sold on the Astringent Toner though. It comes out orange, like the tears of red-headed children. No thank you, my Witch Hazel can suffice.

    However, I might buy the Amazing Face Cleanser next week ($49. Really? They’ve got to give students a discount, ugh) and I’ll update to clarify on whether or not the combination of Aesop’s Cleanser + Serum + Masque is working wonders on my skin or is just taking little shits in the pores of my large organ.
