   I purchased this as I desperately needed a good dark brown eyeliner. My last one (Maybelline) was too sheer and dried out extremely quickly, so on the recommendation of a friend I purchased this one. It comes in a foil packet instead of your normal clear packaging, but that’s not a concern to me.

   The first thing that struck me was the shape of the pen – it’s octagonal and quite heavy for its size, but I find it helps to stabilise your hand as you do your eyeliner. Very helpful, and definitely produces a much smoother line.

   It’s also very heavily pigmented, and the thickness can be easily controllable. The dark brown is actually a dark brown, and not a light brown or an off shade of black. However, if used on top of eyeshadow depending on the colour (usually extremely metallic ones), its not as opaque as I’d have liked it. But day to day on top of nude or light eyeshadow, it goes on and works a treat.

   It’s also budge proof if you don’t scratch or rub at your eyes. In fact, it takes a little time to get off even with an eye makeup remover. My only complaint, however, is that it comes off in flakes when you remove it instead of cleanly wiping off. That, however, is a small price to pay given this stayed on without budging or fading for 12 hours. Will be repurchasing if I don’t find a better one.

   A liquid eyeliner by the Japanese brand, Flowfushi. This is my HG liquid liner! It’s a brush-type tip on a pen cartridge, with an unusual octagonal cut that makes it easier to hold steady when drawing fine lines. As it’s a brush tip and not a felt tip, it doesn’t have the issue of the tip drying out and becoming cracked or damaged. If the tip is too dry, you shake the liner so you hear the cartridge inside click a few times and then fresh liner will travel down to brush fibres to the very tip. It’s possible to draw very fine lines and tightline, owing to the narrow tip and pen shape. It’s not 100% waterproof but is highly water-resistant, you can see the liquid dry very quickly once applied and won’t budge or smear easily. If you cry your eyes out all day it will run, but lasts well throughout rainy days, exercise, using contact lens eye re-wetting drops etc. It comes off easy with warm water and standard make-up removers however.

   Packaging is lovely, it has a simple octagonal shape to the pen and a cloudy metallic finish to the outer covering, with the Flowfushi logo on the lid. For each shade, the outer coating of the pen is a different colour so it’s easy to tell what shades they are in your make-up bag.

   It’s a little pricey depending on where you buy it, but well worth the investment in my opinion. I have the brown, brown-black and black shades and love them all. They also work well for more dramatic looks, including extended wings or drawn-on false lower lashes in 1960s style looks. There are a few other colours – navy blue and dark pink last time I checked, though I haven’t tried those.

   I really love these liners!
