Used up a full, generous sample size tube of this and not quite sure what using this has achieved for me. The main thing that drew me to this was ‘Zinc Gluconate’. I’ve been looking for this ingredient at a decent concentration and with the right carriers for some time. Turns out it isn’t for me. Firstly using this twice a day made my face turn slightly red and breakout so I switched to AM-only application initially…until I figured this was the culprit behind my foundation piling. Changed to PM application, again only a pea sized amount but that unmistakable ‘tight’ feeling straight after applying was a dead giveaway that something in here is either too harsh (alcohol?) or the product itself specifically does not agree with me. Despite that I used it up but the hormonal bouts of acne, pores and oiliness were still there as usual. I cannot see any difference. It’s very fragranced too and if you’re oily-dehydrated like I am you might want to give it a miss all together because it’s super-matte, literally disappears within seconds of massaging it into my face and doesn’t seem to impart any moisture into my skin whatsoever. I persisted right up to the last drop, even on some days; applying a hydrating wash-off mask first so that my face wouldn’t feel as tight and following with a hydrating alcohol-free toner. Although doing that helped alleviate some of the tightness, Sebium still wasn’t the breakthrough product I was hoping it would be. Back to the drawing board it is!

(As I’ve sampled 100s of skin, hair and m/u products over the last decade and a half, I thought it might be useful to share my top 10 must-have products, subject to change if and when I come across something more effective. I love constantly trying out new stuff – usually sample sizes via e-bay, also plenty courtesy of a friend who works at Sephora)

I was given this as a bunch of samples. The beauty advisor thought I would like it because I have combination skin. The texture isn’t bad. But if you have oily t-zone and dehydrated cheeks this isn’t the product for you. It is pretty drying. Also, it doesn’t work with a ton of primers or foundations. It starts curdling when used under Guerlain, Lancome and Clinique’s foundation.

Have been using Bioderma products for about 12years and Sebium akn was one of these I started with. Having problematic skin, extremely sensitive like a baby skin with acne my dermatologist recommended this cream for me and can’t praise enough, as I mentioned have been using it for such a long time. I apply a thin layer on spots, go to bed, feel a bit tingling which is the sign of a good work. No redness or any other bad reactions, I wake up in the morning and spot (s) are gone or visibly smaller just over night! Then I use Bioderma cleanser and my skin is clear, hydrated and ready for next day. Seriously can’t live without it. Can highly recommend for every one with acne prone very sensitive skin.

I used this product couple of years ago. Back then, I liked it. I was a beginner into glycolic acid products and this products suited me well. My skin’s texture was improving, my pores were clean, overall breakouts reduced. Ever since, I moved into higher percentages of AHAs. I prefer my AHA product to be at least 10%.

I use this every second or third night on the entire face as a treatment (not a moisturizer!). Since I have sensitive skin, it stings a little after application but it stops after about half a minute. This is the best weapon I came across, when it comes to fighting blackheads and clogged pores. Drier skin types should be careful with it and bear in mind that this is not a moisturizer, it’s a treatment.

This is the only thing that really reduced the blackheads on my nose, chin, forehead/T-zone and that’s the only area where I use this lotion for!

my face was acting up again…(summer blues) ,
I went into the store to look for a good moisturiser the lady who was assisting me told me about this product, and how it will completely clear my skin,
I used it that night the next morning I had 5 or 6 white heads this did not make me panic ,
so I carried on the next day and the day after that, the forth day was the worst skin completely covered with cysts , white heads and painful pimples :(:(:(:0 ..my whole face was painful,
I did work for me and I wouldn’t recommend it to a pimple prone, sensitive skin people.
the worst is when I spoke to the Bioderma representative who sold me this product,
she said oh ..see a dermatologist??? sorry what after you praised the product and convinced me it is the best product under the sun.
no Bioderma for me.

Just to start off, this is the first review I have ever written on a product. This product really deserves a review. I am 19 years old and have been suffering acne ever since elementary school. I have tried many different products and none of them has really done the job. This product has really done what it says on the package “smoothes and refines the skin texture” (I believe this is what it says on its new packaging/not what the picture says). Since I started using this product, my skin has been the clearest that I have ever seen! Ive been using this product for awhile now and it seems to do the job. It is a little more expensive but it is worth the price! I am planning on repurchasing this product 🙂

This can be to harsh on dry skin. Can sting a little if you have sensitive skin or if you are using other exfoliating products. It was ok as a moisturizer for my oily skin, but did nothing big for my acne problems.

The product was good at decreasing the appearance of acne scars a little bit. However, it didn’t work well as a moisturizer.
