This past week I’ve been applying this around my right eye, whilst using the ‘Age Smart – Age Reversal Eye Complex’ around left eye area to be able to compare the difference. I’ll write up about that one seperately but first I’d like to share my thoughts on this one…
I started using on the 13th of this month and just got to the last drop in the sample sachet this morning. The very first thing that hits me when using this is the smell – it’s a very medicinal herbal smell that borders on alcohol. Had to check the ingredients list…turns out it’s Eucalyptus oil! For a eye serum designed specifically for sensitive eyes I cannot figure out for the life of me why such an irritating essential oil would be added!? And it’s not a small amount – the serum practically reeks of it!
Then comes the texture… by far the stickiest eye product I’ve ever used, this one doesn’t absorb well and leaves a tacky, shiny layer around my eye. Despite the Vit C and Licorice (both fantastic for brightening) my eye area didn’t look any more radiant or ‘awake’ than it did when I first started using it. Normally brightening ingredients have a pretty instant visible effect on my skin and eye area, but that’s not been the case with this one.
Happy to report I didn’t get any milia or negative reaction whilst using this, but at the same time I saw zero benefits. Granted a sample is not going to yield any discernible results on fine lines or other eye area concerns (that would take months of use and treating the area), but you can always get an idea just by how your skin responds to a product. In this case I can’t say there was anything about this product or initial results that would entice me to invest $55 for the 0.5 oz full size serum. However the Age Smart eye complex seems to be working somewhat better…will write up on that seperately once I have worked my way through to the end of the sample.

This product is super smooth. I purchased multiple samples from Ebay after reading reviews of this product online. While I agree nothing outside of the dermatologist’s office will clear up wrinkles, this product is silky and leaves my eyes looking wonderful. A great overall eye serum.

I appear to be in the minority, but I could not use this serum. It worked well, absorbing quickly and leaving my eye area smooth. However, there was something in it that irritated my eyes. I had to stop using it.

This is a good product for those with sensitive skin. I use it, but not on a regular basis like I should! It provides hydration around my eye area in a good way and I feel it does the job it says it does.

$50 for .5 oz
Got this at last yr’s IMATS for maybe $40. This goes on much more liquidy than other serums I’ve tried. Goes on very smoothly and easily and evaporates into nothing rapidly. I always wait at least 2 min before applying eye cream and moisturizer (I use a face serum that I apply the same time as this). Non irritating and lasts forever! I use at night only. For those that don’t like creamy/thick texture in an eye serum, you might want to give this a try. I would repurchase, but only at some kind of discount. This is too much for me full-priced.

This is an amazing product!
I have very sensitive skin and I have found it difficult to find products that contain really effective ingredients that do not aggravate my annoyingly super sensitive skin. I have used the Clarins Super Restorative Eye Serum and I have had no reactions to it and although it brightened my eye area, it still felt dry. I now use it over the Dermalogica serum at night.
The Dermalogica Ultra Smoothing serum is quite light with a slightly oily feel but has absolutely no residue after a couple of seconds – there is no irritation whatsoever and I feel it has truly reduced the dryness I was feeling. Once I have smoothed the serum around my eyes, I sweep any extra across the rest of my face and it is wonderful! If you have sensitive skin or eyes I would definitely give it a try.
I found very few reviews on this product, probably because it is quite new, so thought I would add one here as it’s always the first place I look when researching products.
