I am on the hunt for low cost hard working products to take with me to Thailand in a couple of weeks. My budget is limited as is my luggage allowance so I expect to pay very little and get a lot in return.
Priceline is currently having a half price cosmetics sale and I was looking for a product which would give me a lip and cheek tint in one with good performance in a small package.
In my online searches Luma came up as a good line of products so I decided to take a look at their Just a Touch Lip & Cheek Tint instore. There are only 3 colours-I chose the Signorita. I was worried it might be a little too red on my pale skin but the other two shades were either way too light or way too dark so I took a punt. At just under $15 it wasn’t a huge risk and it looked pretty good.Nice little frosted glass pot with a silver screwtop lid.
As soon as I got home I applied it to lips and cheeks. That was about an hour and a half ago. I found it went on a little tacky so I finished it with a very light dusting of powder which set it immediately. The colour is wonderfully natural and I look quite uplifted (thank goodness-I was looking pretty haggard after 5 days of looking after my very high maintenance 7 year old granddaughter in the bitterly cold Canberra weather while my husband is off having a great time playing soldier in sunny Queensland-just had to get that bit off my chest-grrr). As of now the colour is still on my cheeks and just slightly less so on my lips after eating lunch.
I don’t think this will give any of the high end stains and tints a run for their money but I think for me at the moment and for my purposes it does the job quite satisfactorily for a very affordable price. It will be joining me on my holidays.
A little later: this does fade a bit after 3 hours or so. Please take that into account. I still like it but it isn’t a no-budge stayer.
Later after a week in Thailand: I can now say that this product is very good indeed. It is highly pigmented so a very little goes a long way. I have used it every day since arriving here. In an effort to reduce the oil-slick look that this high humidity causes I usually go for an ultra-matte face which, let’s be honest, isn’t the most flattering look when you are staring 60 in the face (or mirror). Because this blush has a slight dewy sheen it really softens my face and takes away that powdery look without interfering with the oil-blotting properties of my matte t-zone makeup. I also use a tiny touch on my lips under lip gloss. This removes the whole zombie look of the overmade up and gives a more ‘I’m on holidays but I still don’t want to look like a total hag’ effect.
After a week the pot of blush hardly looks like I’ve touched it so it is a real bargain. Recommended.
