This Clinique foundation stick has been discontinued many years ago but I did happened to get a free sample of it to try & it was a decent product! I don’t use it as a foundation but as a concealer for spots & it was pretty good! It was a cream to powder finish ! It was another good product Clinique had discontinued!

I totally love this product. Very easy to apply and blend and leaves a smooth dewy finish. I don’t use it as an overall foundation but more on the areas where I need it. The shade I use is Vanilla which matches my skin tone perfectly. The packaging is very nice too…easy to carry around for touchups.

this is a pretty good concealer. it is very creamy and opaque. however, the color i got in buff is too dark for me, but thats my bad. i do notice that it can be kind of hard to blend, and it points it out even more on account of it being too dark. but i think if i had gotten the correct color, it would be a 5 (lipstick) product.

LOVE LOVE LOVE this product.
Great for a purse cover up stick, for the chin, and nose, blends in well.
This product lasts, and is packaged well.
One of my main daily/travel items.
CRIPES.

I used to use Benefit’s Playsticks (among several others that I rotate) and decided to give this a try because it says it has spf15 and because of the good reviews here. I am fair with ivory toned skin (Buff in ColorStay) and the Honey shade blends in very well. The texture is nice and blendable as well as buildable. It is surprisingly long wearing and doesn’t cake or increase oiliness. I think the $23 is a bit steep, but still cheaper than Playsticks. I adore the portability of stick foundations.
Update: I’m sorry to say this product broke me out. I rarely break out unless it is from using a new product. I had to return it. I just got some deep pimples on my cheeks which NEVER happens. Oh well.

I have this stick foundation with SPF 15 in 02 Cream Stick, a light beige. The coverage isn’t bad and it blends well, but it’s too greasy for my taste and seems to slide off my skin after a few hours. I’ve also found it results in moderate pore clogging/minor breakouts, which means I’ll pass on repurchasing.

This product is not all that it’s hyped out to be. Bought it based on all the good reviews here. It’s creamy and easy to blend, I give it that, but it got my skin shiny in like 2 hours after wearing it for foundation. It covers pretty lightly and for it to cover more, you would have to cake it on. I’m combination/dry, more dry skin now that I’ve gotten older; but even after trying it out just for concealer, the spots that I concealed became oily. May work for some, but did not work for me. By the way I’m NC30 and I got it in Buffed. The color matched really well. But I think that’s about it. The only 2 good things about this product is that is easy to blend, and it’s in a tube, which is convenient. UPDATE: pretty bad, been using this for about 2 weeks as a concealer only and it broke me out. How do I know? I only broke out in the areas I concealed with citystick. Beware…for those with acne-prone skin, this clogs your pores. This product is bad, it has very light coverage, which is not good for concealing and the purpose of concealing is to cover up right?, this did not do it. Second it can clog your pores and it does not last very long at all. It seems to slide off your face within 1-2 hours of putting it on.

I have extremely dry skin and dark circles under my eyes and large pores on my nose. I couldn’t find a concealer or foundation anywhere that didn’t settle into my lines and cake in my pores. Then along came City Stick! It works better than anything I have used. I use a thick moisturizer under my eyes, then pat on City Stick. It doesn’t crease. I also use it on my eyelids to even out the color, followed by a light dusting of face powder. For my nose, I smooth it on with my fingers or a concealer brush, then follow with a light dusting of face powder. I am set for the day. I will occasionally apply a bit more under my eyes toward the end of the day if my dark circles are especially awful that day, but normally I don’t need to. I am very happy after months of searching!

I bought the Ivory Twist for my medium skin tone for around $23 at Macy’s Clinique counter. I use this only as a concealer, even though this is a foundation creme. It also has a SPF of 15. It covers my acne or blemish spots well and I use it very sparingly. Since the stick creme is VERY soft, it only takes a very soft push against my skin for the creme to apply. I can see how for those people who use it for the whole face the product may be used quite quickly, but again, I use it very sparingly and so I find it worthwhile for the price. I haven’t seen any irritation so far and it blends very easily and well. It doesn’t dry out my skin either. It has no shine whatsoever, just a matte or even a slightly powdered looking finish. I love that it comes in a stick form which I find to be very portable and hygienic.
One downside is that for skin that is really discolored (whether due to blemishes or other reasons) you may have to layer this creme a little in order to hide the discoloration enough to match your skin color. Another con is that the creme does come off fairly easy if say you were to rub against the spot where you applied it. However, as long as I don’t physically touch that spot, the makeup stays on all day long, even when I’m working out and my face is sweating a little. But it’s not water proof.
Overall, I don’t find the cons to be severe enough for me to knock off a lippie because I truly love the benefits of this product.

EDIT: over the last year, I have developed a lot more fine lines under my eyes than I used to have (aging is setting in, booo!). I could not use this anymore – it really exacerbated the look of the fine lines under my eyes. it definitely settles in lines and pronounces them. great for a teenager or someone in their early 20s before they have lines, after that…not so much 🙁
Old Review:
WOW! I would have never considered this if it weren’t for the great reviews on MUA. thanks MUA! I’m surprised how much I love it b/c I always thought a stick foundation would be heavy or cakey, etc.
it’s not! it glides on so smoothly, and blends so easily! it gives my skin such a creamy dreamy look, Ooo!
I don’t put it all over my face – I put on clinique city block ss, then put this city stick under my eyes, over my pores on my nose, on any red spots etc, and blend outward. It blends perfectly in and makes my skin smooth and even toned.
great purchase!
