Lightweight conditioner, good for daily use. Doesn’t weigh down my fine hair. However, because of the styling products I use, I don’t see any difference in shine. Maybe my hair is a tiny bit shinier if I don’t put anything else on it, but that is rare, I always use something for volume. Using styling products pretty much cancels out any scent the conditioner might leave behind too, which is a shame, I used to have long hair that I just washed and let air dry, and it always smelled wonderful from some of the Aveda conditioners. This one has a nice scent, but not as nice as Shampure.
So, if you don’t fuss much with other products, and just want a light conditioner that leaves your hair smelling great, this would work well. For the price, the benefits aren’t there for me, so I probably won’t buy it again.

I had a few samples of this and it was just okay. My hair is fine and wavy, and this detangled nicely and didn’t feel sticky or heavy like some conditioners that contain shea butter (an ingredient I usually hate). I didn’t need a lot, it rinsed out just fine, but when all was said and done, my hair looked okay, but I had a lot of surface frizz. Also I normally love Aveda scents, but this is like a strong patchouli- floral crossed with YSL Opium perfume. I don’t dislike it, but it’s not my favorite Aveda scent. Current price, $22 a tube.

I love this stuff, especially in combination with the matching Brilliant shampoo. I have colored, fine hair which is down past my shoulder blades so fairly long. After shampooing with Brilliant, I apply this conditioner and it’s almost like my hair soaks it in because I can barely feel anything to rinse out. The first time I tried this stuff I was alarmed, because I had been used to other conditioners that pretty much are an oil slick on my hair. Surprisingly to me though, my hair had never felt so soft and clean after using both the shampoo and conditioner. It’s lightweight enough to not weigh my long hair down, but it does the job at keeping my stressed hair conditioned and soft. Perfect for me!
The bottle it’s in kind of sucks though. Hard to get the last bit of this rather expensive conditioner out.

Totally utterly ineffective at hydrating my hair. I had to use a load of it each time so it was used up very quickly. My hair ended up with frizzy fly away strands at the front, and was lank and heavy and dull elsewhere. My hair was NOT shiny or healthy looking.
Over time I felt my hair got slimier and slimier when wet and there was gradual ickky build up.
Annoyingly utterly disappointing. A total waste of time and money. This product needs a total overhaul and some advanced technology inserted into it STAT.
The only good thing? The smell was likable.
I definitely think Kerastase, L’oreal and Paul Mitchell are way superior hair care brands.

I liked this, but the fragrance was too much for me. And for my abundant, fine hair, I think that continued use would start to dry my hair out, since my hair doesn’t respond well to silicones. Also, my skin didn’t respond well to the conditioning agents, my hands were quite red and a little swollen, but the bigger issue, as I said is, while the smell is nice, it completely overpowered me..I’ll stick with Biolage Conditioning Balm. However, if you can tolerate silicones and the fragrance, this is a nice conditioner.

This has been one of my favorite conditioners for the past 15 years and I just repurchased a bottle the other day. It smells wonderful and the scent lasts all through the day without being overpowering. It has meadowfoam seed oil, babassu oil, jojoba oil, shea butter and aloe so it’s very nourishing to my slightly dry hair. My hair is also fine but dense and wavy, prone to tangles. This conditioner tames the tangles and leaves my hair silky without weighing it down. At only $18 for a 6.7 fl. oz. tube, it’s a steal compared to many of the other hair products I use. I do wish it were in a flip top bottle but that’s not a big deal. I use it with the Damage Remedy shampoo or Color Conserve Shampoo.

Great light-midweight conditioner with a singularly Divine scent.
Probably not suitable for those who need daily intense conditioning. I rotate it with other conditioners, as I have color treated fine hair. I use this on a “lighter conditioner” day, usually after a heavier treatment with the previous shampoo.
Pairs beautifully with the Pure-Fume Brilliant shampoo.
Wonderful way to begin the day, the aromatherapy is incredible.

This would be ideal for perfectly healthy, non-color treated hair. With denser, curly, color treated hair like mine, this conditioner doesn’t provide enough moisture. So not much of a conditioner at all. After using it twice, I am putting it aside and back to my Redken All Soft, with the All Soft deep conditioner once a week. Much better. I will save this as a light conditioner for after a clarifying shampoo. Does work well at making hair look shiny though!

this is the BEST product line for dense, thick, dry, wavy/curly hair. my hair soaks it up but doesn’t get weighed down. it tames it. i loooove it.

Me: coarse dry color treated hair.
I wanted to love this product, but my hair needs more moisture than Brilliant provides. I adore the scent and the conditioner itself is really thick, but I have to use so much to even coat all of my hair that it isn’t worth buying the small bottle. I’m not about to spend $67 on the litre. I think this would be better suited for someone with normal hair in good condition. It did make my hair super shiny and smell amazing though. Will not repurchase.
