I am in my 40 and have dry, sensitive skin. I was planning on purchasing the La Roche Posay Toleraine Riche, as I absolutely love LRP products–I wear the shaka fluid spf 50 religiously each day. I am one of those, though, whose skin reacts to niacinimide. And since the LRP cream had this ingredient, I thought it best to stay away. In walked Cetaphil Night and I have zero complaints. Gentle, moisturising and fragrance and colourant free. There are some great ingredients in here, too. I know people go on about the jar packaging, but it will be used up quickly. And when it is, I will repurchase!

I was very disappointed with cetaphil after I bought a bunch of their products and they caused a disaster on my entire face. My skin has been oily all my life, but lately I was able to deal with her and (after taking roacutan) it turned out to be mixed (in some parts oily, in others dry, but most important: healthy and clean) so I decided to buy three products from this brand to take care correctly and without damaging it THAT MUCH. The result? My skin got an allergic reaction so big that I had to go to the doctor to treat it. When I putted this cream in particular, little white heads appeared everywhere: IT WAS LIKE HAVING ACNE ALL OVER AGAIN!. Never using cetaphil again, not recomendable at all (not even to your worst enemy!).

This thin, white cream wasn’t rich and it wasn’t hydrating for my dry-very dry skin. I thought the hyaluronic acid would make it more moisturizing, but it didn’t help at all. This might be a good cream for those with normal to dry skin, but not for those with dry-very dry skin, regardless of what it says on the label.

For $22 at CVS, I would’ve expected 1) slightly more in the container and 2) for it to actually absorb into the skin. When I opened my jar it was literally 1/3 full, if that. I regularly spend much more on products at Sephora, but my aesthetician recommended I get this to calm down my skin after micro derm/dermaplanning. Considering the price of this, I feel so ripped off. Would’ve much rather spent twice the amount and gone to with Josie Maran at Sephora.
Anyways, my real qualm is with the actual product. From the moment I saw it inside the jar, I knew I wouldn’t like it. Scent? Nothing. Not that it’s a problem, but literally it smelled like water (i.e. nothing). Second, the texture. I have tried Olay in the past as well as the Cetaphil Cream, and anticipated this “RIch Hydrating Night Cream” to have a similar texture. But it was thin and slimy.
I put it on my face for 5 nights. Each night I literally felt nothing happen with my skin. No relief from dryness, no tingling, no sensations whatsoever. The next morning the same. It was like I hadn’t used anything at all. Nor did it help moisturize whatsoever. But after 2 days this started giving me very small white heads on my entire face. I ended up just using it on certain parts and noticed the white heads forming in only those places. Nothing HUGE but enough to make me stop using this product.
I’m wondering if somehow my product was dud??? The other reviews are fantastic, not only on here but other websites as well. But this was a huge waste of money, as I feel like I wouldn’t even use the remaining product to moisturize my legs/hands/feet bc of the bizarre texture and results.

This is a a creamier version of regular Cetaphil, which is slightly waxier. Night Cream is absolutely rich and hydrating. While it’s not greasy, it takes a long time to absorb on my skin, and my skin feels almost wet. My pillow must soak up a large percentage of this throughout the night. This feels like an old fashioned expensive, fancy-jarred night cream that my mother and grandmothers kept on their nightstands, next to their beds. I understand that it contains ingredients that benefit maintenance of skin health, and I like that its preserved with radish ferment rather than parabens ,or something else outdated. .I have a weird sensory distaste for lotions, and I have always much preferred the texture of creams or lotions, serums, gels, or ointments. Cetaphil was an integral part of dermatologists skin care product advice from coast to coast in the ’90’s, and Cetaphil was responsive for major growth for Galderma. Then along came Valeant Pharmaceuticals and their fandy-dancy ceramide line, CeraVe. Many wondered if Cetaphil was of any use any more. As it turned out, with the exception of CeraVe SA, I prefer Cetaphil’s cleaners quite a bit over CeraVe’s. I also much prefer the big jar of Cetaphil moisturizer over the big jar of CeraVe. Now I have tried CeraVe’s Skin Renewing Night Cream, and Cetaphil Rich Hydrating Night Cream, and…I prefer CeraVe! CeraVe’s texture mattifies, plumps, covers pores, wears well as a “blur” product under makeup. That’s not to say that I don’t like Cetaphil, though, because I do. I think it’s a marvelous product for very dry and sensitive skin for use when dryness and/or irritation rank above anti-aging to get skin comfortable. Cetaphil will comfort your skin like eating chicken soup in Nana’s kitchen on a stormy day.When the weather breaks, and skin starts feeling normal, it’s time to break out the CeraVe SPF 30 and CeraVe Skin Renewing Night Cream, to get skin back into shape.

This night cream is excellent. I swear by this cream & the gentle cleanser. I don’t understand how anyone (like the reviewer) below me, can review a product that they haven’t even tried. That’s just wrong. Don’t review if you did not try the product!!! ????

LOVE Moisturizing enough for overnight
My skin still feels great (soft, smooth, comfortable) in the morning. I love Cetaphil’s clean moisture. Others add a lot of actives, but they are not moisturizing enough even for the day much less for overnight. On a 46YO with dry skin. In the desert…

This is a very solid face cream from the drugstore although God knows the prices for drugstore skincare has skyrocketed. I purchased for $17.99 at Target out of curiosity more than anything and also because I’m always game to add more hydration into my winter skincare routine. A bunch of brands like L’Oreál, Garnier, Olay, Neutrogena etc have introduced brand new skincare ranges since the new year but I’ve been gearing more towards CeraVe and Cetaphil because those other brands are so hit or miss for me. I can usually count on CeraVe or Cetaphil for steady and effective but no-frills skincare.
This newly released Rich Hydrating Night Cream impressed me for texture and effectiveness. It is a very pleasant air whipped créme with zero fragrance and goes on beautifully. Your skin instantly feels hydrated and supple very similar feeling to the Josie Maran Argan Oil Face Butter which I adored until I realized it was giving me breakouts. This one has the same ultra-smooth luxurious feeling but with more simplified ingredients. The hyaluronic acid is the star ingredient of this product which is great because I’ve always found it to be an excellent moisturization agent without getting over-complicated. I must say I wish the tub was bigger but so far I’m totally loving this.
