This is for the “Perfect Filter” Palette but I’ve decided to write my review here rather than opening yet another eye shadow debate.
I’m not your typical makeup person, in fact I’m as minimal as possible, and that’s exactly why I loved and bought the Perfect Filter palette. The colours range from matte to slight glimmer, from the palest yellow to a dark brown, and they blend and layer beautifully.
I’ve found that with this palette, I can wear any one of the lighter shades for a quick “eye opener” look during the day, and mix darker shades for a more made up look in the evening.
This palette can work for practically any skin tone and any occasion. Staying power is good, even without a primer, but with a primer it absolutely lasts for as long as you decide to remove it.

Holy smokes! What a STUNNER of a palette! I’d held off buying this for a while because it seemed a bit pricey for drugstore, but I’m so glad I finally picked it up.
Every shade in this palette is amazing. The peachy tones lean just a tad pink, the lilac-purples aren’t too stark or pale, the nude-tan shades are great for a more understated look, and the highlight shades are perfection. There are four sets of colors in this palette, with a three finishes for each – a matte, a satin, and a full-on glittering shimmer. And they all work beautifully together. It’s a very harmonious palette.
To the touch, these feel a little rough. I was skeptical when I first opened it up and swatched it. But upon applying it to my eyes, my doubt quickly dissipated. They blend well, and the satins aren’t too shimmery to be unusable in the crease or on the browbone. The glittery shades definitely require a primer, and there’s a bit of fallout, but since they are so light, it’s not terrible. They do last all day; no creasing and no fading.
The packaging is decent. It feels sturdy. I wish there was a mirror, but that’s not worth kicking up any dirt over.
At the normal price (which I think is around $17-18, it seems expensive for NYX. I got it on sale for just under $12 at Target, and honestly, now that I have it, I would have paid full price had I known how good it is.
I’ve heard mixed reviews about the other color stories in this range, so I’ll likely pass on those, but Sugar High is a must-have if you love creating beautiful, romantic eye looks!
