Oh my, this is a gorgeous shadow duo. I’m a big fan of cream shadows (especially RBR’s) because they’re fast and easy to apply, there are no fallout issues, and they’re kind to aging eyes. This duo–a beige/cafe latte combo–is perfect for everyday wear. The shades are very soft, so don’t expect drama from them (although you can jazz things up with your coice of liner or by adding powder shadow(s), but they lighten and brighten the eye area like no other cream shadow I’ve tried. The beige (or cream) shade was formerly the single cream shadow in Brocade Skipper, and the latte shade was Atlas Swallowtail. You can apply these without a base for a very soft look, or over a base to make the shades a bit more noticeable. They have a lovely, almost whipped texture that glides on easily, and the satin finish is incredibly flattering. Once applied, these shadows stay put until you remove them–no creasing, no disappearing–with or without a base. I usually use fingers to apply after dabbing a bit of product on my lids with the doefoot applicator, but have also used a brush for more precise application, and both work beautifully. I also love that this is a double-ended component (which I generally don’t care for) because the shades are perfect together. This is a real winner from RBR. It is pricey, but if you want a subtle look, need a very professional everyday look, need something that applies quickly and easily, or travel a lot, it’s perfect. I don’t think I’ve ever used any shadow more flattering in finish and shade, and I’ll keep buying it until they stop making it.
