A thick hydrating cream with high SPF. For my normal combo skin I use serum, then this SPF, and that is enough to keep me moisturized for the day. Takes 5 minutes to dry down. Leaves skin looking shiny and oily but doesn’t feel oily. Doesn’t leave a white cast on my fair skin. Doesn’t sting my eyes. Un-fragranced, doesn’t irritate my sensitive skin. Doesn’t break me out as long as I’m careful to thoroughly wash it off at night.
Its got a lot going for it but I’m not going to repurchase for several reasons. Its expensive but not as many benefits as others I’ve tried. Usually in this price range you get blurring properties and also PA+++ which also blocks the suns AGING rays in addition to the SPF. Not just SPF which is blocks the burning rays only. Then I’ve also noticed it pills slightly when worn under makeup. And finally, its a chemical sunscreen, which they have now proved ALL get into the bloodstream and cause DNA damage and therefore are a potential cause of cancer in itself. Am shifting over to mineral only sunscreens now because of this.

This is my all time favourite daycream. It might seem luke a thick cream but when applied it becomes this perfect hydrating lotion. I’m kinda lazy and the thought of having to apply all my serums in the morning plus spf and a moisturizer is to much for me. This cream has a high spf, antioxidants and good skin ingredients and makes for a perfect primer as well. What’s not to like? I like others who have written reviews don’t understand why not more people rave about this. I’m on my third tube and it has worked perfectly both winter and summer for me, a dry to very dry combination skin gal.

Surprised this has not got more love!
Appearance of a quite thick cream.
No fragrance.
Absorbs quickly and does not leave a white cast.
My skin is combination leaning dry, this leaves my skin comfortably moisturised, hydrated and never greasy.
I use it over an antioxidant serum although there are also antioxidants in this.
I leave it for a couple of minutes before applying my makeup and it applies smoothly over this without problem, whether I’m using liquid or powder. Doesn’t affect staying power.
Has protected my skin from the sun well.
I’m acne prone and it hasn’t caused breakouts.
I have a trial size product which comes in an opaque tube which will help keep the antioxidants and spf stable.
(Hg for me for days I know I’ll be spending more time outside)

This was part of a trial kit. Luckily.
Testing day: I loved the way it applied on my skin and looked under foundation. One hour later I was driving in my car wondering what the nasty smell was I encountered…? My coat? Something under my shoe? My hair (wash it every day)?
45 minutes later I realised I used this SPF for the first time. For some reason it reacts very bad with my skin and gives the worst smell ever.
What a shame, since this SPF does not sting or burns my eyes.

I got this as part of a kit so it was great value for money. I have tried A LOT of sunscreens and have a lot of requirements from a sunscreen so here are the basics:
It’s fairly light compared to other sunscreens.
It doesn’t feel very greasy but it does leave my oily skin shiny.
It has a high SPF 50 which is ideal if you are using in conjunction with other Alpha H products.
It doesn’t make my sensitive acne prone skin break out.
It leaves no white cast on my dark skin.
It contains alcohol albeit in a much smaller percentage than some matte sunscreens.
All in all, it works well for me but be aware that although it comes from the Alpha H range, it does not contain alpha hydroxides which is logical as they make your skin more sensitive to the sun, but a bit misleading.
The problem is in the packaging. I heard this happened to soemone else too. The pump simply stopped working. I had to pry the lid open with pliers to get the product that was left in the jar, having used only about 10% of it. I don’t know if its efficacy has been compromised. Anyway, I posted on the Alpha H page about it, and they referred me to Cult Beauty who I had bought the product from. Cult Beauty immediately said they would send me a replacement, and I’m still waiting for it since they sent it by non-trackable post.

This was a very expensive moisturizer, not much different from the Neutrogena AHA moisturizer that is a fraction of the price. But what it offers is SPF50. I liked the idea of eliminating the SPF step in my morning routine. But it turned out to be a very expensive experiment. In one week the pump broke and now I can’t get the product out. My husband has tried to remove the top but we can’t get it out. I’m very gentle with my products and this has never happened to me. I contacted the seller, a popular bath online British store, who would not do anything unless I sent a photo (but that point, I’d thrown out the pump components that would not go back into the bottle). The seller also did not post my review which confirms my suspicions that online stores eliminate bad reviews. It may be a fluke, but it also may be a design flaw. So buyer beware. At this price, I won’t risk it again.

PROS:
This does not leave a white film or greasy texture (once it has dried – takes about 5 minutes for me). I can’t feel it on my skin at all.
Nice, hygienic pump dispenser.
The look and feel of makeup is unaffected by this product.
CONS:
I don’t have dry skin, but this is not moisturising enough for me. I use a separate moisturiser underneath.
My skin mostly tolerates this, but it stings my eyes and makes them water, so I avoid the eye area.
Since this product is expensive, I will try out other SPFs before I consider repurchasing it.

I got this together in an offer with liquid gold. This also comes highly recommended by skincare guru Caroline Hirons so I though I would try it. I am not disappointed, I just can’t believe this product isn’t better known! A little of this goes a very long way, it has made my dehydrated acne-prone skin soft and dewy. This just strikes the perfect balance for my skin- keeps it hydrated with a bit of sheen but not oily. UK online store salon skincare stocks the range and had brilliant offers on all the time.

This is a good moisture product for my combo skin. Doesn’t leave me too oily at all. It’s a little bit mhhh for me though I want a moisturiser and a sunscreen in one but I’m not sure this one is a good enough moisturiser nor a good enough sunscreen.
I use a primer on top and any liquid foundation I like no problem. I like it but I don’t love it. Great pump dispenser though and one pump is a good teaspoon of product.

This is really a rant but also a warning to others. Like many people I have difficulty finding a decent sunscreen that doesn’t break me out. I had decided to try this product based on reviews which all said how light it was, how the whole line is aimed at people with cosmetic acne like me and this is their best selling product. I couldn’t find the whole list of ingredients, only ‘key’ ingredients. So– I emailed the company to ask. They sent me back a list. A half baked list as it turns out. I spent £27 on this stuff. I got it today. The company I bought it from were great. The problem is the list of ingredients goes on and on.I use a really good site (www.CosDna.com) to check ingredients and products out for comedogenicity. The 9th ingredient is Isopropyl Myristate. I can’t use myristates in any form. (is it coconut?). My skin hates the stuff. This particular ingredient rates a 5 on the comedogenicity scale and is therefore a complete no no for spotty girls. Alpha-H customer services suck. What is the point in being half helpful and leaving out the crucial information that was plainly requested? The company I bought it from are lovely and I am sending it back to them but am boycotting Alpha-H. I am fuming. I am going to post the full ingredients for this so no one else falls for this crap.
