I got horrible cystic breakouts from this horrid junk! I read the ingredients and it’s got a ton of essential oils, all of which are either sensitizing or comedogenic. I wanted to like it despite all that. I thought it was my serum or primer breaking me out, but I went back to my old reliable Nyx dewy setting spray and in a week or so my skin was perfect. When I ran out of Nyx, I wanted to try to use this up bc it’s not cheap, and I *really* desperately want to like it. But one day of wearing it, and I had five red pimples pop up including one on my ear(where the spray must have touched). Again, I wanted to blame my skincare but I hadn’t changed anything other than this setting spray. I still have it in a box in case I need a good spray bottle bc the sprayer is lovely as is the packaging. Why in 2019 anyone would use that many known sensitizing ingredients is just beyond comprehension. Don’t waste ur time on this or risk irritating ur skin—skip this stuff.

I did not find anything spectacular with this setting spray. I’ve attempted it as primer (not a wise choice), hydrator (works just a rosewater), and to set makeup (works like rosewater). I found it was gentle on my skin, no breakouts. However it seem to help with mild puffiness due to caffeine.

I picked this up in travel size at Sephora to try, and I do like it but I’m not sure it actually does that much more than plain old rosewater for me. That being said it does feel light on the skin, lasts a long time, and it has a nice citrus scent, which I like. It does help set my makeup but the most unforgivable issue I have with it is with the spray nozzle wants to spray too heavily. I end up with wet spots on my face that I have to gently blot, or it squirts out instead of a mist and really ruins everything.
So, I like the formula but probably wont buy it again unless they do something about the spray nozzle.

I just realized after 2 weeks of using this on and off, I’ve been getting painful cysts. I was trying out a new foundation so I thought it was the fdn. I stopped using it and still got new breakouts at places I usually don’t have any products on. I spray the mist all over the face. It was this. Smells like oranges but nope

I really love this to make my foundation less caskey and look like skin. It gives me a beautiful glow, but because I’m oily I have to set my t zone after I use the spray. It doesn’t irritate my skin, doesn’t break me out, it hold my foundation from seperating and it makes it look softer, which I love. I always spray this on my highlighting brush to intensify and gurll the glow is amazing.
The only thing that is bothering me about this product is how the nozzle is just messed up! Sometime I spray it and it doesn’t come out evenly and I end up wasting the product, I tried to fix it but I cant. Will not buy again because of the nozzle I ain’t trying to waste the money I work hard for. And I have a better spray now

I generally use All Nighter as my setting spray- and I love it, I do. But I’ve got combo skin, so some days, it simply feels just a bit too tight on my face after a couple hours. I bought this product to try and combat that, and I’ve gotta say, I love it. I keep this in my purse and whenever I check my makeup to make sure it’s holding up, if it’s drying and starting to settle into lines, I give myself a spritz and away I go! I’ve found it to be very nice at prolonging my makeup and ensuring that it wears off a little more subtly than what it was doing previously.
This does have quite a strong fragrance- citrus of some sort. I don’t mind it, I find it wakes me up a bit, but if you’re adverse to strong smells this won’t be for you. The mister is also pretty strong, I wish the spray was just a tad finer. So much comes out at once though, that you can be very sparing in how many sprays you use.
Basically, to stop makeup from feeling dry and looking cakey, this is great. I wouldn’t use it as a setting spray though. But for a purpose specific product, it works very well, and it has a permanent home in my purse so I can whip it out whenever I need it on the go.

I received this product as a sample size in a set from Sephora. I am a fan of a more dewy makeup look so I like this product, however, I can understand why a person who favours the matte look would not like this product. I like how you can apply this product to your face before or after makeup. I have tried both though I prefer to apply it afterwards. The smell of the product is really good too. The mist gives my face a dewy look yet helps makeup to stay on throughout the night. Overall, I like this product, though it isn’t accommodating to all needs.

I did not expect much from this, I am pretty picky (or rather, my skin is pretty picky) about skin mists/sprays. The premise of this according to Tarte is to act as : Tarte Rainforest of the Sea Marine Boosting Mist is a new four-in-one facial mist that acts as a primer, makeup setting spray, hydrating mist, and skin refresher.
Now, first off, there is a rather strong scent to this when first sprayed, it reminds me of Orange Crush soda. Not a fan of that scent being sprayed on my face, especially being I have sensitive skin. However, that scent dissipates almost immediately for me. Having said that, if you have sensitive skin, I would suggest going to Tarte’s website to read the ingredients, as some of the ingredients are not typically sensitive-skin-friendly. Having said that, my sensitive skin luckily is not irritated with this. Anything with any form of alcohol on my face usually gets ugly, but luckily I have no such issues with this. I can’t say this makes my makeup lasts any longer, but it makes it more seamless and flawless and more “professional”. So, it does help with my makeup in that regard.
I do like this quite well and it surpassed my ‘another day, another setting spray’ initial thought. This is quite nice!! I feel this makes my skin look more youthful and my skin look a little tighter (tighter in a good way; and I am 46 years old). It is refreshing and the mist is an even mist, which I appreciate. I wish I had tried this in the summer, but it will do nicely in the heat/cold/hot transitioning of going from hot house/cold outside/warm building of winter. I think this will be nice to keep my skin moist and hydrated and not greasy.
All in all I like this quite well. It possibly would be a repurchase for me (well, purchase, as this was part of a holiday kit), if this did not have the orange-soda scent when sprayed. For me, there are other skin mists that work as well with no scent, so that unfortunately is a deal-breaker for me. Otherwise I would definitely consider a regular sized bottle of this when the trial size one runs out for me. So, I like this a good deal, but just won’t repurchase because of the scent, even though it does dissipate, I just do not like the scent, not when there are other comparable face mists with no scent. But I will enjoy this trial size one, it is quite nice, despite it’s fragrance. I did rate this a full 5-stars/5 lippies, as the product does perform excellently for me, I am just not a fan of scented things on my face, even if it is just for a few minutes. So, I like this, I really like how this performs, but dang it for the scent!! That is the only thing that makes this a non-repurchase for me. 🙁

I love Tarte but they seriously disappointed me with this product. Let me start with the actual purchasing experience. I ordered this product online and had it shipped to my home. It was shipped alone stuffed with tissue. It should have been fine… but it wasn’t. When I got the box it was soaked through. Upon inspecting the product I discovered I had a faulty spray nozzle that leaked horribly. No amount of tightening was gonna help this spray nozzle. Tarte replaced it and the second bottle seemed fine and I could finally give it a try…
When I opened the new one I was instantly disappointed again in the nozzle. Not because it didn’t work (it did this time) but the spray radius. I expected a fine wide mist I get from most setting or moisturizing mist sprays. Nope… this was like using a household cleaner bottle to spray it one your face. It was narrow heavy streams of fluid. No bueno.
I decanted it into my old WNW setting spray bottle and tried to use it that way. My first impression was that it was… ok. Heavier feeling than Mac Fix + but did a good job at making my skin look healthy and moisturized even when I used powder foundation. I found it did not add anything in terms of longevity of my makeup and had little to no benefit to my skin itself.
The real problem started on day 2…….. Day 2 I started getting horrible allergy symptoms. For some reason I did not make the connection between this product and my symptoms since I do suffer from seasonal allergies. I continued using this product for 2 weeks. I was taking my regular allergy meds routine… nasal sprays, pills, asthma meds for constant asthma attacks… I eventually ended up in urgent care with a wicked sinus infection, bronchial infection and unmanageable asthma… it was a mess. The doc kinda scratched his head and sent me home with more of the same meds and said the next route was steroid shots. I spent 2 days in bed, not doing my face, and magically ALL my symptoms disappeared. I thought… finally! Then the next day I busted out this spray when I did my face and…. instant misery all over. I’ve since tested it twice and I am now 100% certain I am horribly horribly allergic to this product and this product was the source of my illness. I SHOULD have read the ingredients. This product contains orange oil. I already knew I was sensitive to lemons…. but it (derp) never occured to me there may be an issue with Orange too… and really… why orange oil? I get that it smells great but c’mon… it has little to no real benefit to the skin….
So yeah, overall… FAIL. Straight to the trash.

I received a sample of this in my IPSY for March. I love this as a setting spray! It smells like summer (a tangerine scent) and keeps my makeup looking great for the entire day. It runs $25 at Sephora for 4 oz. I think that’s a great deal, compared to other setting sprays of its kind. I still love my Skindavia, but save that for special occasions as it is a bit pricier.
