After years of having my skin well under control, I found myself inexplicably dealing with more than one under-the-skin pimple at the same time. In a frustrated grab for help, I ordered this kit. It was expensive for what you get — $29 for 8 patches (and 8 accompanying pre-patch antiseptic wipes). If you use two patch sessions on one zit, that’s almost $8 right there. It would be worth it if they worked wonders, but more on that in a bit. Packaging is nice but seems kind of excessive. Each patch is in its own small plastic case, and there is a small slotted plastic tray in the box to hold the 8 little plastic patch-boxes and individually wrapped wipes. That’s a lot of single-use plastic waste. 🙁 Anyway… I paid for expedited (2-business-day) shipping but it still took almost a week to arrive. Of course, I was hopeful that each patch would help eradicate an under-the-skin pimple…
Long story short — I’m not sure how much a patch helped. It certainly didn’t “kill” any zit. If anything, it perhaps helped bring one of them to a head within a day or two (after two 8-hour patch sessions). It didn’t seem to do much of anything to the other spot. I don’t think a patch made either of the spots any smaller, either. On the plus side, the patches are discreet. You can barely see them on the skin once applied, so I was happy to wear them during the day at home, even around my husband. And I suppose it felt good to TRY to do something about a deep pimple, when it usually feels like nothing will make a difference. Also, it kept me from touching those areas while I wore a patch, which it probably good… But yeah, no amazing, clear results. At best, I have a vague guess that maybe the patch is why one came spot came to a head in a couple days. I’ll keep them on hand and use them up but for the money I don’t think they made enough of a difference to justify another purchase.
