i also purchased the trial size Juju and Pekee bars at the same time as getting a trial size of Beste No 9 and the polypeptide cream for a Sephora bday special – the absolute best way to try out DE products. at the tender age of 56, i’m done with NuSkin after 30 years and looking for products i will stick with for a long while. i have combo skin with congestion on the forehead due to wearing bangs and being a hyperhidrosis sufferer. the Beste was MAGIC during the sweaty summer. it lathered lusciously and did not leave it tight and dry. i switched to the bars after i ran out of Beste and like others have mentioned, had doubts about using actual “soap” bars. however! love love love the Juju bar – it’s exfoliating grains literally wiped out all the congestion barnacles on my forehead – without drying my skin – where the aha/bha serums i tried did not after months of use. it was like i woke up one day and went “wth! check my skin out”. the trial size bars lasted NINE months and i just repurchased them again (trial size). Definitely give Juju two thumb’s up – this little baby’s a keeper. the jury is still out on the Pekee bar; i do like it better than the liquid/cream cleansers i’ve used. i also find the Pekee removes my makeup just fine – most likely because i don’t do anything waterproof.

It’s been a very long time since I’ve used a bar on my face. It went out of fashion many years ago, and honestly, bars were pretty substandard until JuJu and Pekee.
I purchased the trial size, with the cute little travel case…I reach for them everyday now…I haven’t used my beloved Beste cleanser for several weeks.
I love the ingredients in both of these bars. I use JuJu in the morning and Pekee at night (after Slaai). I enjoying lathering up these bars and treating my skin to a good old fashion cleanse. Both leave my skin feeling so clean and soft.
At first, my skin felt a little tight after using them, but within a few days, my skin adjusted and now I experience no dryness, whatsoever.
They also dry quickly and completely, leaving no slimy film…they are miraculous little bars and I believe I have converted from using gel cleansers.

Very simple cleanser, detoxes the skin, makes it soft and doesn’t strip the moisture out of your face. Great for my combo skin. Genuinely confused why people are complaining about this not removing makeup when it’s not designed for that.

Amazing. Will repurchase. I am acne rosacea and sensitive skin in my mid 40s. It’s pricey but I don’t care. It is gentle but effective. Not a makeup remover or soap. It’s got an anti inflammatory type effect.

I’ve been using this for a year now (I’m on my second bar) and I have to say it’s one of the best cleansers I’ve ever use. My skin is oily and prone to breakouts, this bar has been a game changer and I don’t intend to change it anytime soon. It does have a gritty texture that is supposed to exfoliate but it is so minimal that I would’t recomend to think of this as an actual exfoliating product, you will definitely need to have a separate one.
That being said, my skin has shown serious improvement in terms of helping minimize my brakeouts drastically. I use it as the second step of my double cleansing routine, twice a day. And I know that it is supposed to only be used a couple of times a week, but I think it depends on your skin. And for me it has worked like that. It leaves your skin feeling clean and refreshed but it mever strips your skin from its natural oils. Added bonus, each bar lasts me about 6 months.
I will definitely keep repurchasing or at least until I find something better (but as for now I doubt it).

I bought into the hype of this brand and bought a set that had deluxe sizes of the majority of this line. The set included both types of soaps the brand carries.
I can’t really list any pros about this soap. Yes it does have tiny grains for exfoliation but my skin is so oily and congested all the time, I rely on chemical exfoliation. The tiny grains did little to nothing. Yes it is scent free but scents never really bothered me. I guess it wasn’t stripping as the white bar soap Drunk Elephant sells. It contains Marula oil, but for something that stays on your face for a minute, that doesn’t really do much.
Save your money and get a cleanser that doesn’t cost an arm and a leg for no reason.

For a pricey bar of soap, this doesn’t cleanse off all my make up and the fact that Drunk Elephant is so clever with their packaging and yet they leave this as a bar of soap that’s unhygienic to store is beyond me. The soap has a nice gentle exfoliation to it but it’s not enough to take off flakey skin. I did like how my skin didn’t feel dehydrated or irritated but I don’t think it’s enough to repurchase.

I’m cursed with combo skin that loves to break out at the slightest fluctuation in hormones or stress. This soap does a really nice job of cleaning and gently exfoliating without causing me to break out. It has also helped to minimize breakouts when I do get them, although it doesn’t entirely prevent them. It doesn’t leave my skin feeling tight or dry. After trying the generous sample size, I will definitely be purchasing a full size.I’d recommend for folks with oilier or combo skin, or those who like gentle and manual exfoliation.

I couldn’t decide whether to buy this or the Pekee bar so I bought both in the full size (there is a duo kit of minis but, ounce for ounce, it didn’t offer the value of the singles). First, for the price ($35 each in Canada), they could have thrown in a soap dish/holder (one with a lid would have been even nicer). Beyond that, I really love this bar. When I first work up a lather in my hands, it has a strange texture that is almost gritty but so fine and integrated with the lather that to describe it as gritty or scrubby doesn’t really describe it well at all. The more I lather the soap into my face, the thicker and richer the lather seems to become, so I add a bit more water. It leaves my face feeling really clean – sort of “squeaky clean” but not in a bad or stripped way. While DE advises to use this in the morning, I prefer using it at night to get my skin feeling scrupulously clean before applying my night time skin care products. And I know that once summer arrives, with its humid weather, I will really enjoy using this to get my face feeling fresh and clean.

I just love the idea of gently exfoliating your skin. Definitely a keeper. Give it a try!
