I have been using this cleanser for several years now. I like it because it doesn’t sting my eyes, doesn’t leave my face tight and doesn’t break me out. Consistency is pretty thick, transparent and comes in a pump bottle. Two pumps is all I need to get my face clean and it lathers well. I have oily skin and it removes oil effectively without stripping it dry. Will remove dirt, oil and regular non-waterproof makeup. It’s not as effective in removing my heavy duty zinc based sunscreen though but I use a separate makeup remover/face wipe for that purpose before using this. When the product runs out, I save the pump bottle to use for refillable liquid hand soap. I pay $7 plus tax at my local CVS for an 8 fl.oz of product.

I read all the reviews on here and had this hanging around so I thought I would give it a go! It completly broke me out! Took me a while to realise that it did but as soon as I stopped using it I got my clear skin back! Would deffinatly not reccomend

Update 23/08/12 – I’ve stopped using this for now as I simply love the Juju Aquamoist Bubbles facewash now. I had no problems with the Clean and Clear, but I did find it a bit boring. I would go back to using it without any reservations but for now I’m very happy using the foaming aquamoist cleanser as I much prefer it.

I got this as a cheap cleanser to remove my grapeseed oil as I didn’t want to keep double cleansing with my Avene Cleanance Gel evening because it was too drying and getting to be expensive. This face wash was really cheap (maybe £2 ish from Morrisons). I didn’t expect much as I’m not a fan of Clean & Clear, but I’ve been pleasantly surprised. It cleans well without leaving my face tight or dry. It doesn’t have a noticeable scent and the pump bottle dispenses the product well. I’ve now started using this as a cleanser on its own,on the days where it’s colder (my skin doesn’t need the Cleanance then) or on the day or so after a lactic peel treatment. It seems to be a very gentle, yet effective cleanser. I will re buy, but I haven’t seen it any shops recently so hopefully it’s not discontinued.

Simple, CHEAP, gentle. This is the simplest cleanser I have ever used.
I wash my face twice a day as I use Retin-A 0.1% every night and I use my clarisonic in the morning.
This cleanser has worked perfectly, didn’t irritate my skin at all. It really is TRULY GENTLE.
I recommend this for sensitive and oily skin.

After religiously searching makeupalley and beautypedia for the ‘best budget’ cleanser i saw that Clean & Clear Sensitive Foaming Wash was very popular in the US however we don’t seem to have that in the UK. So i came across this Truly Gentle cleanser in Asda for £2 and figured worth a try! I’m glad i did i’ve used much more expensive ones in the past i.e. dermalogica and although i liked them i wasn’t convinced they were right. This is a great cleanser for removing all my makeup without leaving my skin feeling dry or tight. Just need to try and find a budget toner now 🙂

I used to use cetaphil but it was hard to get in the uk, then i saw this in asda for £2 and thought i’d give it a go, it really is gentle, doesnt leave your skin tight/dry, removes all my makeup…doesnt leave my skin red or break me out…its very very good. Its soap free
