Cant believe I never reviewed this mascara! Got a travel size with a mini Guerlain primer, loved this mascara. Its a drier formula, but it wore well, made my lashes defined, and the brush was great. No clumping, no issues. It wasnt a formula that was hugely volumizing or lengthening, but it did a little of both to my lashes and made them look so nice. I remember using it for as long as I could until I knew it was time to replace. I also am a sucker for the gold packaging. Edit— forgot that this has a perfumey scent, which is stupid for Guerlain to do with something applied so close to the eye. For this, I would hesitate repurchasing, as Im sensitive to strong scents, especially the eye area.

I’m on my second tube of this mascara and it’s one of my absolute favourites!
It’s lengthening and volumising but also separating. It doesn’t look clumpy or heavy but still gives your lashes impact.
The formula is also a rich black and really makes the lashes stand out – for me there is a noticeable difference. The formula is wet enough to glide on easily for multiple coats without clumping, but the tube does have a tendency to dry out over time.
I don’t have too many problems with smudging or transfer. Maybe a tiny bit but nothing major.
The packaging is stylish and feels nice in the hand.
Sure, it’s a pricey spend for mascara but it is by far one of my top favourites.

This is also my HG mascara! My priorities when it comes to mascara are lengthening and separation, as I think these are the two qualities which best create that natural ‘your lashes but better’ look. This formula lengthens better than any other I have ever tried, and does so without any clumping.
It’s very layerable and therefore also volumizes quite well if you’re after a slightly more glamorous night-time look, though I would caution that this is definitely a product for those who prefer lashes on the natural side of the spectrum, rather than those who prefer a falsies-style appearance.
It also has a somewhat floral scent, which I personally love, and the packaging is absolutely gorgeous.
I do think the brush could be improved by being smaller and more tapered, similar to Mac Extended Play (my second favorite mascara), so that it’s easier to maneuver without smudging and catch those outer corner lashes.

Not bad, not great, just average. When applying, I had high hopes. But after a couple of hours, it got clumpy and messy. Not worth spending the money.

I got this as a sample.
It does what plenty of reviewers say, great job on separating, lengthening and boosting. However, after a few hours I always had smudge, residue on my face! So I don’t know if it was because it was a sample, smaller container, more likely to dry? But for the price of a full tube with poor staying on power, I don’t think I would purchase.

Meh. It takes forever to dry on eyelashes, it doesn’t do wonders and from now on, I’m gonna stick to my hypnose drama even though it’s more expensive. On the bright side it really does separate lashes quite well, but if you accidentaly touch them during the day, you will mess it up because this mascara is never actually dry. And I almost never touch my eyes when wearing makeup

I got a deluxe sample of this mascara from Sephora with a purchase.
A gorgeous lengthening and separating mascara. And when I say separating I mean super duper feather beautiful natural looking lashes. The most separated looking I have ever experienced!
It lasts all day with no fall out. In my video I get a bit of a smudge on my cheek from a nap I took, but other than that minor mishap there was not a single flake or smear. It comes off very easily at night, which I love.
The only thing I don’t love is that it’s super expensive. As someone who usually buys like $10 mascaras which I really like, I don’t know if I can justifying $35 for one that I really love. Maybe If I settle down and have a HG mascara I would make that commitment, but right now I’m just not ready….
Anyway If you are looking for THE ONE… Try this one out! It really is beautiful!

This mascara is amazing. And I have tried MANY. My other two favourites would be Benefit’s They’re Real and Le Volume de Chanel. I find that, of these three, Guerlain performs a bit more like Benefit. However, I find Guerlain leaves a more subtle, cleaner look compared to They’re Real.
Chanel is better at voluminising, but not as strong on lengthening; whilst Guerlain is able to do both. Chanel, however, is easier to cleanse off (not as stubborn to remove as Guerlain).
Overall, I like all three, but for now, Guerlain Maxi Lash has the slight edge.
Will repurchase, but as I like experimenting with beauty products, I will probably also cheat and try others. If I find something better, I’ll edit this post to add my findings.

edit– upped the rating as it stopped making my eyes water just needed to wait… for the formula to dry out a little i guess. still prefer the look of clarins and mineral fusion.

Agree with previous reviewer; an average mascara, esp considering the price. First off, it makes my eyes water for a minute because it is heavily fragranced. There are several ingredients, presumably for fragrance, which you would not want near your eyes–nor on skin, actually, as it would burn it in the sunlight!
Compare one eye of this to an eye done with Mineral Fusion volumizing (my HG) –the MF mascara is truly black.
this one does clump. The volumizing effect is partly due to clumping. The formula IS good, still– smooth and can be layered. (Yet I prefer my mineral fusion volumizing mascara’s formulA because the fragrance in this is too much. It can’t be good for the eyes.)
This wins for the brush however. Tis a masterpiece.
Overall I don’t like it, considering the price, it felt like I was using a L’oreal mascara–i don’t like how my lashes look with L’oreal mascaras. They always seem clumped together. When layered on top of Mineral Fusion, it looks good but on its own it is definitely not what the reviews here claim. Have used for a few days, if my opinion changes later I will update. It would make a good gift, but not something I would repurchase for myself.

I paid 350rmb for this mascara in China. This mascara is very average, it transfer. My eyelashes are already long, so there is no dramatic different in terms on length and volume.
